The Abandons to With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration – the seven best shows to stream this week

The Abandons is Kurt Sutter's latest western series set in rural Oregon during the 1850s. The show revolves around the Van Ness family, cattle rustlers who are expanding their territory and threatening smallholders. Lena Headey plays Fiona Nolan, an Irish emigre struggling to bear children but has gathered a group of orphans around her for protection. Gillian Anderson portrays Constance Van Ness, the menacing matriarch of the family. The series explores themes of power struggles and family dynamics amidst a backdrop of violence.

In a separate episode, Meghan Markle and Naomi Osaka star in "With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration," a festive cooking show from their California home. The latest installment features Prince Harry as a special guest. Expecting more cheer and cheerfulness with the addition of celebrity appearances, this is no exception.

Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner? is a Channel 4 documentary series presented by Daisy Maskell, which investigates the disturbing rise of partner abuse among young people in the UK. The show delves into stalkerware apps that allow users to covertly monitor their partners' online activity without consent.

Sean Combs stars in "Sean Combs: The Reckoning," a Netflix documentary about his adversary's downfall, 50 Cent, executive-produced by Combs. The film chronicles Combs's rise through the hip-hop world and examines his recent conviction for prostitution-related charges.

Seaside Hotel is a Danish comedy-drama series based on its own success in Denmark as one of the most watched shows during the war years. Based on British television powerlessness to resist nostalgic periods, it now explores an Englishman living in America in 1940s. Amanda and Frida's renovating of their hotel becomes pivotal when Sarah's Jewish grandparents are implicated.

Lastly, "Owning Manhattan" is a Netflix reality show where real estate broker Ryan Serhant aims to build the world's number one brokerage on Earth by assembling his team. While trying to overcome his team's personal struggles and rivalries, he must tackle challenges related to his own troubled past and navigate complicated relationships with key stakeholders.

Netflix documentary series, The New Yorker at 100, features a profile of the magazine as it reaches its milestone birthday and offers an in-depth look into its editorial processes.

I dont know why netflix has so many drama shows... all these westerns and reality TV are giving me a headache . I like my shows light and fun, you know? Like that festive cooking show with Meghan Markle. That sounds lovely! 🍰🎄 But then I see documentaries about partner abuse and prostitution... that's just too much for one week. Can't we just watch some funny cat videos or something instead? 😂 And what's up with all these reality shows? Just building a brokerage or renovating hotels doesn't sound like my idea of entertainment . Give me a good old fashioned sitcom any day! 📺😂

Ugh, what's the point of all these shows? Like, they're just gonna glorify the rich and powerful while ignoring the struggles of the common folk 🤷‍♂️. And don't even get me started on Meghan Markle's cooking show... I mean, who thought it was a good idea to have her "celebrating the holidays" with some cheesy recipes? It's just more fake happiness from the 1% 🤑. But you know what's really disturbing? The rise of partner abuse and stalkerware apps 🚨. That's something we should be focusing on, not some feel-good reality show about renovating a hotel 🏠. And what's up with Sean Combs trying to take down 50 Cent like it's some kind of drama-filled TV series? Give me a break 💔. I mean, can't they just leave each other alone and focus on something more meaningful?

I'm loving the new western series "The Abandons" so far... but I gotta say, I'm still on the fence about the way the Van Ness family is portrayed 🤔. I mean, I get that they're supposed to be these cattle rustling outlaws, but sometimes it feels like they're more cartoonish than actual people 😒.

On the other hand, Lena Headey's character Fiona Nolan is actually really compelling... I love how she's this tough Irish emigre who's not afraid to stand up for herself and her kids 🤴. And Gillian Anderson as Constance Van Ness? Still a bit too intense for my taste 😳.

As for the other shows, I'm so done with "With Love, Meghan" – it's just so... cheesy 😒. But hey, at least Prince Harry made an appearance, right? 🤷‍♂️

I do need to give a shoutout to "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" though – this documentary series is really important and timely 🙏. Daisy Maskell does a great job of bringing attention to the issue of partner abuse.

Sean Combs' documentary about 50 Cent? Not my cup of tea, but hey, it's always interesting to see how people rise to power 💪.

And "Seaside Hotel" is actually pretty charming... I love the fish-out-of-water story of this Englishman living in America in the 1940s 🌊. Renovating a hotel with Amanda and Frida sounds like so much fun, but also super stressful 😩.

Lastly, "Owning Manhattan" seems like a really intense show – all that real estate drama can be overwhelming 🤯. But hey, if Ryan Serhant's team can pull it off, I'll be rooting for them 💪.

And finally, the Netflix documentary series on The New Yorker at 100? So cool! It's amazing to see how one magazine has been around for so long and still going strong 🎉.

I'm kinda loving this new western series "The Abandons" 🤠👏 - I mean, who doesn't love a good cattle rustling drama? And Lena Headey's character sounds super complex, like she's got some major emotional baggage 💔. Plus, it's always interesting to see how different shows tackle power struggles and family dynamics - it's not just about gunslingers anymore! 🤖

But, I gotta say, I'm a bit skeptical of "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" 😕 It sounds like it's gonna be super heavy and might even traumatize some viewers. I mean, who wants to watch a docu-series about stalkerware apps? 😳 But hey, if it's well-made and informative, maybe that's exactly what we need.

And, omg, "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" sounds like some intense stuff 🤯! I love how the show is giving 50 Cent a chance to tell his side of the story - sometimes you just wanna see the other side of the coin, right? 💎

As for "Seaside Hotel", I'm not sure about this one... it's based on a Danish show, but with an Englishman in America? 🤔 That sounds kinda fishy. But hey, Amanda and Frida's renovating skills are always entertaining! 🏠💪

I'm so down for "The Abandons" - that premise sounds like a wild ride 🤠! I love how it's exploring power struggles and family dynamics amidst all the violence, it's gonna be intense 😬. Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson are giving me some serious queen vibes with their characters, can't wait to see more 💁‍♀️.

And omg "With Love, Meghan" sounds like a total mood booster 🎄! I love that Meghan Markle is spreading positivity and cheer in her new cooking show. And Prince Harry as a special guest? Yes, please 👑!

But what's really got me thinking is "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" - I mean, how common is partner abuse among young people in the UK? It's heartbreaking to think about all those people going through this 🤕. Daisy Maskell's documentary series tackling this issue is so important and necessary 🙏.

And can we talk about Sean Combs' new docu-series on 50 Cent? I'm not even a huge hip-hop fan, but the drama and controversy surrounding this feud is juicy 💁‍♂️! And "Owning Manhattan" sounds like an interesting look into real estate and personal struggles 🏠.

Lastly, how cool is it that "The New Yorker at 100" is exploring the magazine's history? I've always been fascinated by journalism and the way The New Yorker shapes our cultural conversations 📰. Bring on all the behind-the-scenes stories! 💡

omg did u know that pineapples on pizza are actually kinda good? 🤯 i mean i'm not gonna lie, my grandma used to make this awesome pineapple pizza when i was a kid and it's still one of my fave comfort foods. but anyway back to the news... what's up with all these shows about crime and power struggles? it feels like everyone's so focused on drama these days 🤷‍♀️ maybe we should just watch some cat videos or something instead? 😹

I'm so done with all these reality shows 🤦‍♂️. I mean, what's next? A cooking show with Elon Musk? 😒 I'm watching "The Abandons" just because Gillian Anderson is in it and she always brings that intense vibe to her roles. But let's be real, most of these shows are just gonna make me feel uneasy about the state of our world 🤕. Like, partner abuse and stalking apps? It's too much already 💔. And don't even get me started on the celeb appearances in "With Love, Meghan" - can't we all just take a break from the drama for one second? 🙄

I think its wild how much drama is packed into these shows 🤯. Like, I mean, who knew cattle rustling could be soooo intense? 😂 And I gotta say, I love the contrast between Sean Combs's rise to fame and 50 Cent's downfall - it's like two sides of the same coin 💸. But what really got me is that Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner? seems super important and necessary. We need more shows tackling these kinds of issues and having real conversations about consent and abuse 💖. On a lighter note, I'm here for some holiday cheer in "With Love, Meghan" 🎄, but also kinda tired of all the celebrity appearances 🙃. And I'm curious to see how Seaside Hotel's Englishman navigating America in 1940s plays out - nostalgic period dramas are always soooo good 📺!

just saw that sean combs is producing a doc about 50 cent's downfall 🤷‍♂️ like who cares about that drama again? anyway, netflix has some decent shows out right now i guess 📺 the reckoning is supposed to be pretty in-depth on how Combs went from king of hip-hop to kinda shady business partner. but honestly, it's not like it's gonna change anything 🙄

omg i just watched the trailer for "The Abandons" 🤠🔪 and i'm SO here for it already! i love kurt sutter's work and the cast is literally perfection... Lena Headey as a fierce single mom is giving me LIFE 🙌. but honestly, what's with all the docu series on netflix lately? like "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" sounds super intense and "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" is kinda worrying tbh about those stalkerware apps... did i just hear that Meghan Markle is hosting a holiday cooking show? 🍰👑 idk if it's my cup of tea but i do love prince harry 😊. anyway, has anyone watched "Seaside Hotel"? Amanda and Frida's renovation vibes are giving me some serious decor inspo 🏠💎

Ugh, another year, another bunch of "influencers" trying to make a quick buck off their fame 🤑... Meghan Markle and Naomi Osaka just promoting holiday cookery from their mansion? Give me a break! It's all about the celebrity appearances and not actually showcasing any real cooking skills. And what's with the romanticization of abusive relationships in Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner? I mean, I get that it's a serious issue, but do we really need to glorify it on TV? 🙅‍♀️ At least some of these shows are tackling real problems like partner abuse and racism. Meanwhile, "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" is just about how 50 Cent got screwed over by Sean Combs - can't they just leave the beef alone?! 🤣

omg u guys idk how they can be serious about showin ppl abusin thier partners and expectin viewers to just watch and learn 🤯 like dont they know that's some serious trauma? controlled: cant i trust my partner is literally creepin me out Daisy Maskell better be prepared for the fallout 😅

on a more positive note i am SO down for sean combs: the reckoning 🤑 50 cent gettin roasted is always good for entertainment, but this doc feels like it could be really insightful into the hip-hop world 🎤 meanwhile sean combs just seems like he's tryin to prove somethin... like he needs validation 🙄

I cant even right now about seaweed hotel tho... who writes these show ideas? an englishman livin in america in 1940s sounds like a recipe for disaster, but im down to watch 👀

🤠 I'm so down for new westerns 🤠! Kurt Sutter is like a master of this genre 📺 "The Abandons" has some crazy intense scenes 🔥 gotta love Lena Headey's Fiona Nolan 👩‍👧‍👦 she's fierce 💁‍♀️. And Gillian Anderson as Constance Van Ness? 😲 that woman is giving me LIFE 💀.

But what's really got me excited is "Owning Manhattan" 🌆 Ryan Serhant's a genius 🤓 and I love how he's not afraid to get real about his past 💔. And can we talk about Meghan Markle's cooking show? 🍰👩‍🍳 it looks like so much fun! The addition of Prince Harry is a nice touch 👑.

I'm also intrigued by "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" 🚫💔 this documentary series seems super important 🙏. Daisy Maskell's tackling some tough topics 💪 and I appreciate her courage.

📺🎬 these are some great new shows out right now!

I've been thinking about this new western series "The Abandons" on Netflix... I'm not sure why it's called that though 🤔. Anyway, the plot sounds pretty intense with cattle rustling and family power struggles. But what really caught my eye is how they're tackling some serious issues like violence and abuse without going into too much detail. It's interesting to see how they're exploring these themes in a way that's not preachy or heavy-handed. I'm also curious to see how Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson bring their characters to life 👀.

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW SEASON OF "THE ABANDONS"!!! I KNOW LENA HEADEY IS GOING TO BRING SO MUCH DEPTH AND EMOTION TO FIONA NOLAN, AND GILLIAN ANDERSON AS CONSTANCE VAN NESS IS JUST GOING TO BE CHILLS - I CAN ALREADY IMAGINE THE POWER STRUGGLES BETWEEN THEM!!!

🤔 [ Image of a magnifying glass over a suspicious character, like 50 Cent ]

Netflix got a lot of shows, but I think they should just give up and make more "With Love, Meghan" episodes 🎄

I just binged Abandons and I gotta say, it's so gritty and intense 🤯! As a parent, I'm always worried about my kids being exposed to mature themes like this. I mean, I get that it's part of the Western genre and all, but still... there's some heavy stuff here. Constance Van Ness (Gillian Anderson) is literally terrifying 😱! I'm not sure if I'd let my 16-year-old watch this one, tbh. On a positive note, Lena Headey's character Fiona Nolan is so complex and multi-dimensional - love her grit 💖!

I'm so over all these reality shows and cooking specials 😒. Can't they come up with something more interesting than just a bunch of celebs showing off their holiday decorations? I mean, don't get me wrong, Meghan Markle and Naomi Osaka are lovely and all, but can't we watch them do something other than bake cookies for the 'gram?

And on a more serious note, have you seen "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?"? It's so important to talk about this stuff and raise awareness about partner abuse. Daisy Maskell does such a great job of getting her guests to open up about their experiences. I wish we could all learn from each other's stories and be more supportive of one another.

I'm also really intrigued by "The New Yorker at 100" documentary series. As someone who loves reading, it's amazing to see how the magazine has evolved over the years. It's always fascinating to get a behind-the-scenes look at how publications work, especially those that are as iconic as The New Yorker.

Ugh, I'm just so done with all these celebrity-focused shows 🙄. Can't we watch something else for once? Maybe some DIY tutorials or home renovation shows? That's my jam!

I'm watching all these shows but gotta say, I'm really interested in "The Abandons". It's like they're playing with fire with that Van Ness family - all that power struggle and violence... reminds me of when my husband and I were young and had our own little dramas. 🤦‍♀️ But you know what? Family dynamics can be so messy, just like the show's saying.

I'm also loving "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?" - it's like, we gotta talk about these stalkerware apps and consent in relationships. It's crazy how many young people are getting caught up in this stuff. 🤯 And poor Meghan Markle and Naomi Osaka on that cooking show... they just seem so cheerful all the time! Can't we all just have a holiday celebration with some good food and no drama? 🍽️
