The Muppet Show to Is It Cake? Valentines: the seven best shows to stream this week

This week, streaming services are offering up a diverse range of TV shows that cater to different tastes and preferences.

If you're looking for some old-school nostalgia, The Muppet Show is back with a one-off revival on Disney+. This classic sitcom features the anarchic energy of Kermit and his Muppet gang, with cameos from guest stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen. With its mix of musical spoofs, witty banter, and hilarious sketches, it's sure to delight both old and young fans.

For a more serious take on true crime, Netflix is airing The Investigation of Lucy Letby, a documentary that explores the shocking case of a British nurse who was convicted of murdering seven newborn babies. While the film doesn't offer any new insights into the case, it does provide a harrowing look at the events leading up to the tragedy and the investigations that followed.

If comedy is more your thing, Mo Gilligan's stand-up special on Netflix is a solid choice. The popular London comedian gets plenty of laughs as he navigates life in America, from observations about red carpet culture to his own family dynamics. It may not be laugh-out-loud hilarious, but it's a gentle and enjoyable watch.

On the other side of the spectrum is Is It Cake?, a festive Valentine's Day special that is unapologetically, unashamedly pink. The show features Mikey Day as its host and includes plenty of silly sketches and gags about romantic love. Like cake, it's sweet but ultimately unsatisfying – but who needs substance when you have sugar?

History buffs may find Queen of Chess fascinating, a documentary that tells the story of Hungarian chess prodigy Judit Polgár. The film explores her rise to fame and the sexism she faced along the way, offering a glimpse into a world that's both familiar and alien.

Last but not least is Finding Harmony: A King's Vision, a new documentary about Prince Charles and his commitment to environmentalism. While it may not be as compelling as some of its competitors in this space, it's still an interesting look at the king's vision for a more sustainable future.

Overall, there's something for everyone on streaming services this week – whether you're in the mood for old-school comedy, true crime, or just want to indulge in some festive fun.

I'm telling ya, The Muppet Show is so overrated 🙄. I mean, Kermit and his crew are all cool and stuff, but it's just too retro for me. Give me something with a bit more edge, you know? But at the same time, I kinda wanna watch it with my grandma 👵... like, why not, right? It's not like she hasn't seen it before or anything 🤷‍♀️.

And don't even get me started on Netflix's true crime documentaries. The Investigation of Lucy Letby sounds soooo dull 😴. I mean, I know some people love that stuff, but no thanks! Give me a good rom-com any day of the week 💘.

But, like, Mo Gilligan's stand-up special is pretty solid 👍. I loved how he roasted red carpet culture – that guy's got skills 🤣. And Is It Cake? is actually kinda fun 😄... even if it's just for its silly pinkness.

History buffs are gonna love Queen of Chess, though 🏰. Judit Polgár's story is so inspiring and all that. But, on the other hand, Finding Harmony: A King's Vision feels like a total snooze fest 😴. I mean, Prince Charles? Really?

I'm telling ya, they're trying to brainwash us with all these feel-good shows 🤔. First it's nostalgia for The Muppet Show, then it's cute stand-up comedy with Mo Gilligan, and now we've got a Valentine's Day special that's literally just a sugar rush 😂. What's next? Are they gonna make us watch a rom-com marathon on Netflix? And don't even get me started on the environmental documentary about Prince Charles... I mean, what's his angle here? Is he trying to distract us from something more sinister? 🤐 The Investigation of Lucy Letby is actually kinda interesting, but you can bet it's just a setup for something bigger.

omg I'm so down for The Muppet Show revival 🤣🎉 I've seen it as a kid and it still holds up today. And Mo Gilligan's stand-up special is so fire 😂💥 I love how he tackles everyday life with such humor and charm. But honestly, what caught my attention was Queen of Chess - Judit Polgár's story is just so inspiring 🙌🏼👑 I've always been fascinated by chess and this documentary is like a must-watch for me. And Finding Harmony: A King's Vision is also super interesting... I mean who wouldn't want to learn more about Prince Charles' environmental efforts? 🌎💚

I'm not sure why they even bother releasing Is It Cake?. Like, who thought that was a good idea? 🙄 It's just so... basic. I mean, come on, pink, silly sketches, gags about love. Give me something with a little more depth or substance. Not to say the other shows aren't solid choices but... yeah, let's leave the cake for the kids, you know? 😒

omg I'm so down for The Muppet Show revival on Disney+ 🤣🎉 gotta be a blast watching Kermit and the gang bring the house down. but also kinda bummed that it's just a one-off - feel like we should see more of their antics 🤷‍♀️. and I've been meaning to check out The Investigation of Lucy Letby on Netflix, sounds super intense 💀. Mo Gilligan's stand-up special seems pretty relatable, I love how he talks about navigating life in America 🌎. Queen of Chess is also piquing my interest - Judit Polgár's story sounds so inspiring! 👑

📊 Stats are out: Most people will binge-watch The Muppet Show revamp (70%), while only 12% are down with a more serious true crime doc like Lucy Letby. Netflix's Mo Gilligan special is a solid 55% watch, but don't expect it to be laugh-out-loud funny 🤣. Is It Cake? has a whopping 80% sugar addiction rating 🍰👀. Meanwhile, Queen of Chess scores an impressive 65% for history buffs 👑💡. Prince Charles doc is a close 40% watch - guess you just gotta care about the environment 🌎😐.

OMG 🤩 I'm so stoked to see all these awesome shows coming out on streaming services! There's literally something for every vibe and interest. From nostalgic faves like The Muppet Show to true crime docs that'll keep you on the edge of your seat, there's just so much variety. And let's not forget about comedy - Mo Gilligan's stand-up special had me LOLing out loud 😂! I'm also loving the history buffs out there - Judit Polgár's story is so inspiring and I need more docs like Queen of Chess in my life 🙌. And who can resist a sweet, silly show like Is It Cake? 🍰👀

I'm loving these new TV show releases 🤩📺. I've been binge-watching The Muppet Show and it's so much fun! Who doesn't love Kermit and the gang? 😂 But at the same time, I'm curious about The Investigation of Lucy Letby - it sounds super intense. 💔 I've heard great things about Mo Gilligan's stand-up special too, he seems like a hilarious dude 🤣. And Queen of Chess sounds fascinating! Judit Polgár is like a total legend 🙌. But what really caught my eye was Finding Harmony: A King's Vision - Prince Charles as an environmentalist? That's not something you see every day 😮👑. Can't wait to dive into all these shows and find some new faves!

omg i just watched The Muppet Show on Disney+ and it was so much fun!!! i loved kermit and the rest of the muppets 🤣 what's that show about Queen of Chess? is she like a famous chess player or something? and why does prince charles care about environmentalism so much? i mean, im not saying he's not cool or anything 😂 but why is he making such a big deal about it?

🤔 I'm loving these old-school TV show revivals on Disney+! Remember when The Muppet Show used to air back in the 70s and 80s? It was like a whole different era of comedy and music. And now they're bringing it back for us newer generations... I mean, I know some people might say it's just nostalgia, but honestly, it feels like a breath of fresh air after all the serious stuff we've been watching lately.

And can we talk about how much I'm enjoying that Mo Gilligan stand-up special on Netflix? It's so funny! Reminds me of when Eddie Murphy was starting out back in the 80s... not that he hasn't still got it today, but there's just something about his old-school style that feels like home.

But what's really got me thinking is how different our viewing habits are now compared to, say, back in the 90s. I mean, remember when we used to watch TV on actual TVs and VHS tapes? It was a whole different world! And now, with all these streaming services at our fingertips... it's wild.

Anyway, yeah... just some random thoughts from me 🤷‍♂️

I'm so here for The Muppet Show revival 🤩! Who wouldn't want to see Kermit and the gang back on screen? And the fact that Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen are making appearances is just a bonus 🎉. But, I gotta say, some of these other shows are kinda meh... like Is It Cake?, which sounds super sweet but ultimately feels shallow 😐. Can't we get more substance in our sugary treats? 💁‍♀️ On the other hand, Queen of Chess is super fascinating - Judit Polgár's story is so inspiring and it's crazy to think about all the sexism she faced in her career 🤯. And Finding Harmony: A King's Vision is interesting, but I'm not sure if it's as compelling as some of Prince Charles' environmental efforts 🌿

I'm so down for that Muppet Show revival 🤣 I mean, who doesn't love Kermit and co? And Mo Gilligan's stand-up special is lit 🔥 Netflix has been killing it with the comedies lately. But, gotta say, Is It Cake? is kinda meh 🎂 I mean, I get what they're going for, but it feels like just a bunch of sweet treats 😒. On the other side, Queen of Chess sounds super fascinating 👑 Judit Polgár's story is insane! You should totes check out The Investigation of Lucy Letby too 🤯 That one's gonna be on my watchlist for sure 💔

the muppet show is back 🎉 and i'm kinda surprised they didn't think of doing a series instead of just one-off revival... i mean it's not like there aren't enough classic sitcoms out there already 💁‍♀️ but still, kermit and the gang are always good for some laughs 🤣

📺👀 so I'm watching all these shows and I gotta say, they're all super different! 🤯 like, one day I'm laughing my butt off with Mo Gilligan's stand-up special 😂 and the next I'm glued to The Investigation of Lucy Letby, feeling all sorts of emotions about what happened to those poor babies 🤕.

I'm loving how diverse it is - from The Muppet Show bringing back old-school vibes 🎉 to Queen of Chess giving me all the feels about Judit Polgár's journey 👑. And then there's Finding Harmony: A King's Vision, which is like... um... not really my thing, but I guess it's cool if you're into that sorta thing 😐.

anyway, what I love is how streaming services are catering to all our weird and wonderful tastes 🤪! whether you're in the mood for something funny, serious, or just plain silly, there's something out there for everyone 🎉.

omg i am so down for a nostalgic trip with The Muppet Show revival 🎉👏! but at the same time, The Investigation of Lucy Letby sounds like such a heavy watch 😩. i'm not sure if i could stomach watching that one. i do love Mo Gilligan's stand-up special though, he's so relatable and funny 🤣. and on the other side of the spectrum, Is It Cake? seems like just too much sugar for me 🍰😴. but Queen of Chess sounds really interesting, judit polgár is like a total legend 💖. and i'm curious about Prince Charles' documentary, maybe it'll inspire me to do more eco-friendly stuff 🌿💚

I'm loving all these new shows and specials out now 📺💖. I mean, who doesn't wanna revisit The Muppet Show and laugh their face off with Kermit and friends? 😂 But at the same time, it's so cool that Netflix is bringing us some serious true crime docs like The Investigation of Lucy Letby - it's always wild to see how these things go down in real life 🤯. And Mo Gilligan's stand-up special is just pure gold - he's got such a great perspective on life and America, you know? 😊 But honestly, Is It Cake? was a bit too much for me... like, I get it, it's fun and all, but come on, too much sugar? 🍰😴. History buffs are gonna love Queen of Chess tho, Judit Polgár is just incredible - I mean, who knew chess could be so fascinating? 😍 And Finding Harmony: A King's Vision is actually pretty cool too... Prince Charles' environmental vision is definitely something we should all get behind 💚. Overall, it's been a great week for streaming shows! 🎉

You know, when we scroll through all these options it's easy to get caught up in what we think we wanna watch and not really think about our own tastes 🤔. But I guess that's the thing about life - sometimes you gotta be open to something new and take a chance on something that might not be your usual cup of tea ☕️. It's like when you're trying out a new restaurant, you might end up loving it even though it's not your go-to spot 🍴. Maybe this week we can challenge ourselves to step outside our comfort zones and see what kind of hidden gems we can discover 💡.

I'm tellin' ya, I watched The Muppet Show as a kid and it was like my favorite thing ever! 🤣 Now they're bringing it back on Disney+ and I'm so down for that! 😆 It's crazy how some of those old shows are still just as funny now. And The Investigation of Lucy Letby, oh man that's some heavy stuff... it's not something you want to watch before bed, you know? 😴 But hey, if you're into true crime, I guess it's worth a look.

I also loved Mo Gilligan's stand-up special on Netflix - he's got such great observations about life in America. And Queen of Chess is really cool, I didn't know much about Judit Polgár before watching that doco. It's interesting to see how she overcame all the sexism in the chess world.

I gotta say, though, Is It Cake? was a bit too sugary for my taste... haha! 😂 But hey, if you're in the mood for some cheesy Valentine's Day fun, I guess it's not bad. And Finding Harmony: A King's Vision is alright, but it's no documentary that really grabs your attention.

Anyway, I think streaming services are a great way to find something new and interesting - there's always something on offer! 📺 What's on your watchlist this week? 🤔
