This is kinda cool that they finally caught a glimpse of the ginkgo-toothed beaked whale 
! I mean, it's been five years of research and all that tech on the Pacific Storm vessel was worth it. But also, can you imagine being out there on the ocean for that long? It sounds like a wild ride! The fact that they had to use a modified crossbow to prove what they saw is pretty crazy too 
. And now we know more about their habitat and how military sonar affects them, which is super important for conservation efforts

I'm literally so stoked about this news!!! Scientists just discovered TWO juvenile ginkgo-toothed beaked whales alive in the wild after 5 years of research & it's literally game changing for their conservation ! Can u imagine how cool it is to see these shy, deep-diving creatures being studied by researchers using tech like hydrophones & observation decks? 
It's also so inspiring that the team was able to get such an epic shot of them with their modified crossbow 
Another species on the brink of extinction... Ginkgo-toothed beaked whales are already super rare & shy, so it's crazy they're only known from 6 strandings in Cali 
. These guys need our help ASAP - military sonar is like a big ol' threat to their lives 
. Now that we know where they live, can we pls just slow down on the sonar thing?
