These rare whales had never been seen alive. Then a team in Mexico sighted two

This is kinda cool that they finally caught a glimpse of the ginkgo-toothed beaked whale 🐳! I mean, it's been five years of research and all that tech on the Pacific Storm vessel was worth it. But also, can you imagine being out there on the ocean for that long? It sounds like a wild ride! The fact that they had to use a modified crossbow to prove what they saw is pretty crazy too 😂. And now we know more about their habitat and how military sonar affects them, which is super important for conservation efforts 🌊. But I'm still wondering, what's the deal with these whales being so shy and easily frightened? Are they just really bad at hiding or something? 🤔

OMG you guys! 🤯 I'm literally so stoked about this news!!! Scientists just discovered TWO juvenile ginkgo-toothed beaked whales alive in the wild after 5 years of research & it's literally game changing for their conservation ! Can u imagine how cool it is to see these shy, deep-diving creatures being studied by researchers using tech like hydrophones & observation decks? 🌊 They're gonna make a huge impact on understanding how sonar affects them & help protect these whales from harm! 💖 It's also so inspiring that the team was able to get such an epic shot of them with their modified crossbow 😂🐳. This is just proof that persistence & determination can lead to amazing breakthroughs 🌟

Ugh 🐳💔 Another species on the brink of extinction... Ginkgo-toothed beaked whales are already super rare & shy, so it's crazy they're only known from 6 strandings in Cali 😱. These guys need our help ASAP - military sonar is like a big ol' threat to their lives 🚫💥. Now that we know where they live, can we pls just slow down on the sonar thing? 🤯 We gotta be more careful about protecting these creatures & their habitats... 🌎 It's not all doom & gloom tho 💕, at least scientists are making progress & finding new tech to track 'em! 📊

🐳 just thinkin' about those two juvenile ginkgo-toothed beaked whales is mind-blowing 🤯 they're like the unicorns of the ocean, so rare and hard to find. five years of research paid off and it's amazing how tech can help us spot them from hundreds of meters away 🔍💻 the fact that these whales are super shy and easily spooked by boats makes conservation even more crucial 🌊❤️
