TV tonight: do not mess with this new Irish detective out to solve a murder

BBC Four is about to unleash a killer season with the gripping Irish detective drama Blackshore. The show follows DS Fia Lucey, played by Lisa Dwan, as she temporarily returns to her rural hometown in Ireland to investigate a missing woman's disappearance. What quickly becomes apparent is that this isn't just any ordinary whodunit – it's also a deeply personal case for Fia, one that threatens to expose long-buried secrets and demons from her own past.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the revamped Gladiators reboot, which has taken on the challenge of modernizing the original formula without sacrificing its fun and family-friendly appeal. The new series promises even more twists and challenges as it kicks off for a third season, with the added bonus of an innovative new event that will surely get your adrenaline pumping.

The big one is Michael McIntyre's Big Show though – this is the one to watch out for if you enjoy a good laugh and some top-notch entertainment. What could possibly go wrong when rugby star Joe Marler gets caught up in Midnight Gameshow? We've seen Romesh Ranganathan's hilarious antics before, so it's hard not to be intrigued by how this whole setup plays out.

Channel 4 has got something special cooking with Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed. The discovery of KV11 is nothing short of historic – Pharaoh Ramses III's tomb is being unearthed for the first time in 100 years, and tensions are running high as archaeologists strive to complete the excavation without compromising the delicate balance of the ancient site.

Sky Atlantic has another explosive drama on its hands with Heated Rivalry. The sizzling ice hockey drama sees Scott Hunter fall head over heels for smoothie-server Kip before reuniting with Ilya and Shane in a romance that knows more than a few hurdles. Can their love prevail?

Last but not least, if you're looking to unwind after the day's events, Waiting for the Out is an exquisite drama from Dennis Kelly that delves into the complexities of human psychology through its prison philosophy teacher protagonist Dan – his inner turmoil is as much a product of his work as it is his difficult past.

Just watched the first ep of Blackshore and I'm hooked 💀🔪️ DS Fia Lucey sounds like a complex character, not sure if I love or hate her yet 😏. The storyline seems to be getting darker by the minute, I'm intrigued 🤯. And that Michael McIntyre's Big Show thingy? Sounds like a wild ride 🎢. Not really into Gladiators reboot, it just looks like a bunch of athletes getting smashed in the ring 🥊. Valley of the Kings is definitely on my watchlist though, ancient history and mysteries always fascinate me 🏺️.

I'm intrigued by Blackshore, this Irish detective drama sounds like a real page-turner 📚 The way it combines mystery and personal demons has me hooked. I've got low expectations for the Gladiators reboot, it's already been done to death 😴, but if they can bring some fresh twists, that'd be great! On the other hand, Michael McIntyre's Big Show sounds like a laugh-out-loud fest - I'm sold on Romesh Ranganathan's comedy style. Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed is super cool, who wouldn't want to explore ancient tombs? 🏺 Sky Atlantic's Heated Rivalry seems pretty sizzling, but the ice hockey drama might be a bit of a niche interest for me. Lastly, Waiting for the Out has an interesting premise - psychological dramas are always up my alley, so I'll give that a watch 👍

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW SEASON OF BLACKSHORE!!! LISA DWAN IS GONNA NAIL IT AS DS FIA LUCEY I MEAN, WHO DOESN'T LOVE A GOOD IRISH DETECTIVE DRAMA?! AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE REBOOT OF GLADIATORS YET?! IT'S BEEN TOO LONG SINCE WE'VE SEEN THOSE ICONIC CHALLENGERS IN ACTION 🤸‍♀️💥

BUT SERIOUSLY, MICHAEL MCINTYRE'S BIG SHOW LOOKS LIKE IT'S GONNA BE EPIC!!! JOE MARLER AS A MIDNIGHT GAMESHOW CONTESTANT? BRING. IT. ON! 🤣 AND VALLEY OF THE KINGS: SECRET TOMB REVEALED SOUNDS LIKE AN AMAZING DOCUMENTARY-STYLE SERIES, FOLKS!

AND HEATED RIVALRY FOR ICE HOCKEY DRAMA? COUNT ME IN!!! I LOVE A GOOD ROMANCE WITH OBSTACLES 🍵🏒

Just saw the news about those new TV shows and I'm already dreading the fact that Michael McIntyre's Big Show might get cancelled 🚨😬. Have you seen how poorly the original gameshows did in terms of contestant safety? It's not exactly reassuring to see rugby star Joe Marler getting involved in a potentially explosive situation 😳. And on a completely unrelated note, just read about the new discoveries made in Valley of the Kings and it seems like the excavation process is being plagued by funding issues 🤦‍♂️. Just great, more stress on top of all the other problems we already have.

I'm so stoked for the new season of Blackshore! 🤯 Lisa Dwan's portrayal of DS Fia Lucey sounds so intense and emotional, I can already imagine the plot twists keeping me on the edge. The idea that this case might be connected to her own past is just the icing on the cake - it's gonna be a wild ride, I'm sure! Meanwhile, I'm kinda excited for the revamped Gladiators reboot too... who doesn't love a good dose of action and competition? 😄 But what really caught my eye is Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed. Uncovering Pharaoh Ramses III's tomb after 100 years? That's like, history coming alive! And I'm curious to see how Heated Rivalry will play out - ice hockey romance? Sounds like a recipe for drama! 💖

OMG u gotta check out this season on BBC Four... Blackshore, I mean I love Irish dramas but DS Fia Lucey sounds soooo good 🤔. And can we talk about the new Gladiators reboot? like who needs a third season already?! 😂 And Michael McIntyre's Big Show with Joe Marler? that's like 2 of my fave things mashed together! but honestly, i'm more excited for Valley of the Kings... ancient tombs are soooo cool 🏺🔥. and Waiting for the Out sounds like such a deep show - need to check it out ASAP 📺💭

🤔 I'm low-key excited about Blackshore on BBC Four, can't wait to see Lisa Dwan's character get all tangled up in her dark past 😬 and that rural Irish setting sounds like the perfect backdrop for some psychological cat-and-mouse games 📺. And omg, Michael McIntyre's Big Show is gonna be a wild ride with rugby star Joe Marler as the guest judge on Midnight Gameshow 🤣 - I'm sold already! 💸

I don’t usually comment but I just can't help myself when it comes to this season of TV lineup 🤯! With Blackshore, I think the creators are playing with fire by making Fia's personal demons so intertwined with the case... how deep will we go? And have you seen that promo for Gladiators reboot? 😍 The new event is giving me major Game of Thrones vibes 🏹️!

But honestly, my money’s on Michael McIntyre's Big Show 🤣. Joe Marler in a game show? That sounds like a recipe for disaster (in the best way possible) and I am HERE. FOR. IT 😆.

I don’t usually comment but I think BBC Four really has a standout season coming up... like, all these shows are so different from each other, you know? One minute you're dealing with murder mysteries and ancient secrets 🕵️‍♀️🏺, the next it's action-packed ice hockey and midlife crises 💥😂. And then there's Michael McIntyre's Big Show, which just sounds like a recipe for laughter - I mean, can't wait to see what kind of chaos Romesh Ranganathan gets himself into again 😂. But seriously, I'm curious to see how Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed plays out... like, 100 years of secrets and tensions is bound to lead to some epic drama 🏺🔍.

omg u guys, i'm literally so excited for blackshore on bbc four!!! i know some ppl might think detective dramas r all about reading books and watching movies but trust me, this one's different lol 🤯 it's like they're really delving into the characters' psyches and making u feel all the feels. and can we talk about how cliche is a small-town return to haunt ur past? lol anywayz, gotta watch it ASAP with my friends at school during lunch break 😂.

I'm SO down for Blackshore! 🤩 I mean, who doesn't love a good whodunit with a personal twist? And Michael McIntyre's Big Show sounds like so much fun 😂, especially with Joe Marler getting dragged into Midnight Gameshow - this guy is already on my watchlist! 📺 As for Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed, I'm obsessed with archaeology and ancient history, so this one has me super stoked 🤯 Can't wait to see how it all goes down! 👑 And lastly, Heated Rivalry is giving me major sports drama feels - gotta keep up with Scott Hunter's love life, fam 💔

You know what really got me thinking about Blackshore? It's not just about some missing woman and Fia's past coming back to haunt her, it's about how our traumas can shape us into who we become. Like, think about it – DS Fia Lucey is a detective trying to solve this case, but on the surface, she seems like a tough cookie... but beneath that exterior, there's so much emotional baggage. It makes you wonder if she'll ever be able to find closure and true healing 🤔. Anyway, can't wait to dive in and see how it all plays out!

idk why ppl need so many shows rn lol like whats wrong with a simple show or movie? dont even get me started on michael mcintyres big show, sounds like just another silly game show 🤣 can we pls have some real drama for once? valley of the kings seems kinda boring tho, ancient tomb thingy...

🤗 u sound like ur really looking forward to this new season of Blackshore, it's so intense already 😬 and i love how they're bringing in these personal demons for DS Fia Lucey... that's gonna be super emotional 💔 meanwhile gladiators is back and i'm low-key excited 🎉 but only if they add more twists like in the original show 🤔

I'm so excited for Blackshore! I've been following the teasers and it looks like DS Fia Lucey's story is gonna be so emotional and intense 🤯. I love when shows go deeper than just whodunits, you know? It's not easy watching characters confront their past but that's what makes it real, right?

And omg, Michael McIntyre's Big Show sounds like a blast! Romesh Ranganathan is hilarious and Joe Marler's rugby background will definitely bring some fun twists to the show 🤣. I'm also super intrigued by Valley of the Kings - who wouldn't want to uncover Pharaoh Ramses III's tomb after 100 years?! Archaeology documentaries are always so fascinating.

I've got a bit of love for Heated Rivalry too... ice hockey and romance? That's my kind of sizzling drama 🔥. And Waiting for the Out looks like it'll be a real thinker, you know? Prison stories can be really gripping but also super thought-provoking.

I'm low-key intrigued by Blackshore, but what's got me excited more is Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed 🏺🔍. I mean, can you imagine the tensions and rivalries that come with unearthing a pharaoh's tomb after 100 years? It's like real-life Indiana Jones vibes! And I love how Channel 4 is bringing it to life – who knows what secrets will be uncovered? The way they've woven the history into the show just feels so authentic. On the other hand, I'm not sure if Gladiators reboot is my cup of tea...it's always fun for a light-hearted, feel-good vibe, but it's also kinda formulaic 😐.

🤔 Sounds like Channel 4 has some sick shows lined up! 🎥 valley of the kings with pharaoh ramesses III's tomb being unearthed after 100 years is mind-blowing, right? 😲 also the idea of Joe Marler getting involved in a midnight gameshow sounds hella entertaining 🔴

omg i'm literally hyped for Blackshore!!! i mean i've already binged the whole first season and i need more of fia's sassy detective skills 🤣 lisa dwan is killin it as the lead and i love how her personal demons are slowly revealed throughout the series. i'm also low-key excited about Michael McIntyre's Big Show, i mean who wouldn't want to see joe marler get roasted on tv? 😂 but seriously, valley of the kings sounds so fascinating - i've always been obsessed with ancient history and the idea of uncovering a 100-year-old tomb is like, wow. can't wait to watch them dig it up without messing everything up 🌀

I'm so stoked about Blackshore! I love how they're creating this complex story around DS Fia Lucey, it's like, whoa 😲 - I can already imagine the plot twists and turns. And can we talk about Michael McIntyre's Big Show? Romesh Ranganathan is literally my spirit animal 🤣... I'm low-key excited to see how all these different shows play out, especially Valley of the Kings: Secret Tomb Revealed... I mean, 100 years without someone finding Ramses III's tomb? That's like, major history moment 🙌. And Heated Rivalry seems super intense... but what's up with Waiting for the Out though? It sounds so different from all these other shows 😐 - still gonna give it a try tho 💯!
