UK IVF couples use legal loophole to rank embryos based on potential IQ, height and health

🤔 I mean, can you believe some people are willing to spend £50k on a 'smart baby' loophole? Like, isn't it enough that you've got two kids and can barely keep up with them as it is? I get that parents want the best for their kids, but this is just getting out of hand. It's like they're playing God or something. 🤝 And what really gets me is that clinics are being dragged into this mess because of loopholes in the law. Like, come on folks! We've got enough to worry about without messing around with genetic testing and who knows what kind of unintended consequences we might have. 🙅‍♀️

im not sure about this whole 'smart baby' thing 🤔... i mean, what's wrong with just being happy with who you've got? £50k is a crazy amount of money to spend on some science that might not even work 🤑. and have you thought about the unequal access part? like, what if only rich people can afford this kind of test? it sounds like we're playing god here 😬. i'm all for helping families who need it, but is this really the best way to do it? shouldn't we be focusing on other things that actually make a difference in people's lives? 🤷‍♀️

OMG, can u even imagine?! 🤯 These UK IVF couples are literally sending their embryo DNA to a US company for £50k! It's like, what's next? Paying money to predict your kid's destiny or something 😂. I mean, I get it, who wouldn't want to give their kids an edge in life? But come on, isn't that just playing God?! 🤖 And what about all the ethical concerns? Like, if these companies are really delivering those "six IQ points" gains, then shouldn't that be publicly available so we can fact-check it?! 📊 It's like they're running a Ponzi scheme or something! 💸 I'm all for giving parents options, but this just feels like a slippery slope. What's next? Genetic modification?! 🤯
