Kyle Albrecht is set to become the next President and CEO of USA Gymnastics, joining the organization after a stint in Major League Soccer (MLS). The new leader will assume the role on January 1, 2026, succeeding outgoing President and CEO Li Li Leung.
Albrecht's extensive experience in commercial development, grassroots participation programs, and fan engagement has made him an attractive candidate for the position. His background in the MLS includes serving as Vice President of MLS GO and General Manager of MLS NEXT, where he successfully led the top youth soccer development program in America while driving record growth.
As part of his tenure, Albrecht will oversee major events, including commercial strategy for the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup. Prior to joining the MLS, he launched Under Armour's soccer category and European sports marketing.
The USAG board-appointed committee and CAA Executive Search spearheaded the search process, which concluded with Albrecht being appointed as Leung's successor. The organization is looking forward to building on the strong foundation laid by Leung, who led a historic turnaround and cultural transformation within the sport.
Albrecht prioritizes athlete safety, echoing Leung's tenure, which placed athlete wellbeing and safety at the forefront following the Nassar sexual abuse scandal. He aims to be a "true steward of the sport" and ensure that everyone has access to participating in it.
As part of his first tasks as President and CEO, Albrecht is focused on implementing USA Gymnastics' 2028 strategic plan, which seeks to further elevate the iconic sport and drive growth that advances athlete success. He expressed his commitment to working with the board, staff, and key stakeholders to continue elevating the sport at every level.
