USA Gymnastics Taps MLS Executive Kyle Albrecht To Lead Organization

Kyle Albrecht is set to become the next President and CEO of USA Gymnastics, joining the organization after a stint in Major League Soccer (MLS). The new leader will assume the role on January 1, 2026, succeeding outgoing President and CEO Li Li Leung.

Albrecht's extensive experience in commercial development, grassroots participation programs, and fan engagement has made him an attractive candidate for the position. His background in the MLS includes serving as Vice President of MLS GO and General Manager of MLS NEXT, where he successfully led the top youth soccer development program in America while driving record growth.

As part of his tenure, Albrecht will oversee major events, including commercial strategy for the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup. Prior to joining the MLS, he launched Under Armour's soccer category and European sports marketing.

The USAG board-appointed committee and CAA Executive Search spearheaded the search process, which concluded with Albrecht being appointed as Leung's successor. The organization is looking forward to building on the strong foundation laid by Leung, who led a historic turnaround and cultural transformation within the sport.

Albrecht prioritizes athlete safety, echoing Leung's tenure, which placed athlete wellbeing and safety at the forefront following the Nassar sexual abuse scandal. He aims to be a "true steward of the sport" and ensure that everyone has access to participating in it.

As part of his first tasks as President and CEO, Albrecht is focused on implementing USA Gymnastics' 2028 strategic plan, which seeks to further elevate the iconic sport and drive growth that advances athlete success. He expressed his commitment to working with the board, staff, and key stakeholders to continue elevating the sport at every level.

omg I'm literally hyped about this new leadership 🀩! Kyle Albrecht's background in sports is insane - from MLS to Under Armour, he's got experience in commercial development and grassroots programs that'll be super helpful for USA Gymnastics πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ. I love how he prioritizes athlete safety too - it's about time we see some real change after everything that went down with Nassar πŸ€•. The fact that he wants to make the sport more accessible is music to my ears, let's hope he can deliver on his promises πŸ’ͺ. With a 2028 strategic plan in place, I'm excited to see what the future holds for USA Gymnastics - bring it on! πŸ˜ƒ

idk why they're choosing someone from soccer πŸ€”... i mean, i get it, he's got some cool experience but gymnastics is a whole different thing πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ. still kinda stoked tho that USA Gymnastics is prioritizing athlete safety πŸ’ͺ... gotta keep those young athletes safe and happy 😊. hope he can bring in some fresh ideas and help the org grow in more than just one way πŸ“ˆ

OMG 🀯 I'm kinda stoked about Kyle Albrecht taking over as President and CEO of USA Gymnastics! As an athlete safety advocate πŸ’ͺ, it's amazing to hear that he prioritizes the wellbeing and safety of gymnasts. The fact that he's coming from a background in commercial development and grassroots programs shows that he's all about building a strong foundation for the sport 🌟. I'm also loving his commitment to working with stakeholders and implementing the 2028 strategic plan – fingers crossed it brings positive change to the organization! 😊

I'm telling ya, something fishy is going on here... πŸ€” I mean, think about it, a guy comes out of Major League Soccer and suddenly becomes the head of USA Gymnastics? It's like they're trying to mix sports, it doesn't add up! And what's with this "true steward of the sport" thing? Sounds like a cover-up to me... 🚫 Albrecht's got some good points about athlete safety, I'll give him that, but have you noticed how he's getting all the major gigs before he even starts? It's suspicious, if you ask me... 🀝

πŸ€” I gotta say, Kyle Albrecht's background in sports is pretty cool, but I'm a bit worried about how he's gonna balance commercial growth with athlete safety πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ’Έ. USA Gymnastics has been through some tough times lately, and it's awesome that Li Li Leung was able to lead the organization towards a positive change. Albrecht seems like a solid choice, though - his experience in grassroots programs is definitely reassuring 😊. As long as he keeps those athlete wellbeing priorities top of mind, I think he'll do just fine πŸ‘.

I'm a bit worried about Kyle Albrecht taking over USA Gymnastics πŸ€”... I mean, I've heard he's got some awesome experience in sports marketing and all that, but gymnastics is such an emotionally charged sport 😬. What if he makes decisions that hurt the athletes or the fans? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Li Leung did a great job building trust after the Nassar scandal, so we'll have to see how Albrecht lives up to those high expectations πŸ’ͺ. I guess it's good that he prioritizes athlete safety, but what about the business side of things? Will he really be able to drive growth without sacrificing the sport's integrity? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ We'll just have to wait and see... πŸ•°οΈ

πŸ€” this guy seems alright... i guess it's good he prioritizes athlete safety after everything that happened πŸ™. but i do wonder how someone who played soccer professionally is gonna run a gymnastics organization... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ doesn't mean to sound negative, just curious about the transition πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

Just got word about Kyle Albrecht taking over as President & CEO of USA Gymnastics πŸ€”πŸ’ͺ think he's got a tough job ahead, especially considering what happened under Leung's leadership... athlete safety can't be taken lightly and it'll be interesting to see how he tackles the trust issues πŸ’―

I'M SO STOKED TO HEAR THAT KYLE ALBRECHT IS TAKING THE HELM AS PRESIDENT AND CEO OF USA GYMNASTICS!!! 🀩πŸ’ͺ HE SEEMS LIKE A TOTAL ROCKSTAR WITH HIS BACKGROUND IN COMMERCE AND FAN ENGAGEMENT, AND I'M LOVING HOW HE'S PRIORITYIZING ATHLETE SAFETY!!! πŸ™Œ IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW HE BRINGS HIS EXPERIENCE FROM THE MLS TO THE SPORT, AND I'M ROOTING FOR HIM TO DELIVER ON HIS VOWS TO ELEVATE THE SPORT!!! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

I'm all for Kyle Albrecht taking the helm of USA Gymnastics 🀝! The guy's got a solid background in sports marketing & development which I think will serve him well in leading the org towards growth while prioritizing athlete safety 😊. It's awesome that he echoes Leung's stance on wellbeing & safety, considering the past issues they've had to deal with... those were some tough times for gymnasts and their families πŸ€•. Now, I'm curious to see how Albrecht will implement the 2028 strategic plan - it'll be interesting to see if his commercial development skills can translate to growing the sport as a whole πŸ’Έ

OMG u guys! I'm low-key hyped about Kyle Albrecht becoming the new CEO of USA Gymnastics πŸ€©πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ. He's got some sick experience in sports marketing and development, and it's awesome that he's prioritizing athlete safety and wellbeing - that's so important after all those abuse scandals πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈπŸ’ͺ. I'm also stoked that he's focusing on growing the sport and making it more accessible to everyone, 'cause that's what it's all about at the end of the day πŸ’–. Let's see how he does, but I've got high hopes for this new leader! 🀞

man I'm still trying to wrap my head around this Kyle Albrecht guy becoming the new leader of USA Gymnastics 🀯 like what does it say about our society when we're having athletes in sports leading the organizations that govern them? it's almost like a full circle, right? but at the same time I feel bad for Li Li Leung who's just stepping down after making such a huge impact on the organization πŸ™

I'm intrigued by Albrecht's background though - from commercial development to grassroots programs and now leading USA Gymnastics it's like he's trying to make a difference in every possible way 🌈 I mean, athlete safety is always top of mind for me when it comes to sports and it's awesome that he's prioritizing that too πŸ’ͺ but what does it say about our priorities as a society when we're only now starting to put athlete wellbeing above all else? πŸ€”

omg can't believe we got Kyle Albrecht as the new head of USA Gymnastics 🀩!! i'm so hyped for him taking over and prioritizing athlete safety πŸ™Œ like they literally saved the sport after Nassar scandal! i love how he's all about growing the sport and making it more accessible for everyone πŸŽ‰ gotta root for this guy! Under Armour and MLS background is a total dream come true, i'm sure he'll bring some awesome ideas to the table πŸ’‘ and btw 2028 strategic plan sounds like everything we need - growth, success, athlete wellbeing... what's not to love? 🀩

omg can't believe who's taking over usag now 🀯 kyle albrecht seems like a total pro tho πŸ’ͺ i'm low-key hyped for him to come in and make some changes especially with safety being his top priority πŸ’• hope he lives up to the hype and doesn't mess it all up πŸ˜…

man, this is like a metaphor for life right? we're talking about Kyle Albrecht becoming the next big shot in USA Gymnastics 🀯 but what's really being asked of him is to build on the foundation laid by Li Li Leung, who had his own share of struggles with athlete safety and wellbeing. it's like, what does it even mean to be a true steward of the sport? is it just about leading the organization or is it about serving the athletes themselves? Albrecht's got some big shoes to fill, but if he can really make a difference in that area, then maybe this is exactly what the sport needs - someone who puts the athletes first πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I'm low-key excited about Kyle Albrecht taking over USA Gymnastics πŸŽ‰. As someone who's followed this whole Nassar scandal thing, it's a huge relief that someone with his background in athlete safety is coming on board πŸ’ͺ. I mean, the guy has experience in grassroots programs and fan engagement - he gets what makes the sport tick, you know? πŸ€— Plus, his commercial side will be a game-changer for USAG, especially with those major events he's going to oversee πŸ“ˆ. It's all about building on Leung's foundation, but Albrecht seems like he's got the right vision and attitude to take it to the next level πŸ’₯.

im low-key hyped about Kyle Albrecht taking over as President and CEO of USA Gymnastics 🀩πŸ’ͺ. i mean, he's got a solid background in commercial dev and grassroots programs, which is exactly what they need to help grow the sport and prioritize athlete safety πŸ‘. his focus on implementing the 2028 strategic plan sounds like a big win for the organization and the athletes themselves πŸ“ˆ. let's hope he can deliver on all the promises and make USA Gymnastics an even more positive and inclusive space for everyone involved 🌈
