High School Hoops Erupts on Wednesday Night with Thrilling Upsets and Dominant Performances
The high school basketball world witnessed a plethora of excitement on Wednesday evening as teams clashed in a night filled with upsets, buzzer-beating shots, and record-breaking performances. The game of the night belonged to King High, which edged Perspectives-LT 60-56 in an overtime thriller.
In the Fox Valley Conference, Burlington Central took down Prairie Ridge 46-18, while Cary-Grove cruised past Crystal Lake South 59-52. Huntley also got the best of McHenry 61-55, with Jacobs claiming a hard-fought 59-50 victory over Hampshire.
The Lake Shore conference saw Christian Heritage triumph over Roycemore 60-39, while Horizon-McKinley exploded for a convincing 102-4 win over Waldorf. Lycee made it two against Beacon, winning 69-41, and Morgan Park Academy edged British School 58-43.
In the Metro Prep league, Universal defeated Lombard CPSA 60-57, with Muchin guiding Mansueto to a 65-49 win over Noble Street at Speer. The North Suburban conference was dominated by Libertyville's 64-59 triumph over Lake Forest.
On the non-conference side, Downers Grove North edged South Elgin 48-38, while Ellison outlasted Orr 58-46. Evergreen Park pulled off a 56-16 upset over U-High, and Genoa-Kingston secured an overtime win 53-48 against Marengo.
The Stagg Panthers defeated Shepard 52-45, while St. Bede downed Serena 56-44. North Chicago's 70-52 victory over North Shore was the most dominant performance of the night, as did Warren's 88-76 thrashing of Rockford Auburn.
Other standout performances came from Lake Park's 57-43 win over Larkin and Plano's 55-44 triumph over Newark.
The evening also featured a number of highly anticipated matchups, including the Aurora Christian vs. Joliet Catholic contest, which saw Joliet Catholic emerge victorious 71-52. The St. Joseph-Ogden vs. McNamara matchup was postponed due to weather conditions, while Lake Forest Academy edged Oak Forest 58-42.

This is insane! I mean, Wednesday night was literally filled with some crazy upsets and dominating performances. I'm still trying to wrap my head around King High edging Perspectives-LT by 4 points in overtime - what a thrilling finish! And then you've got Burlington Central shutting down Prairie Ridge by 28 points... that's just nasty!
