What Boston meteorologists are saying about the potential for snow this weekend

Boston Meteorologists Predict Little Chance of Snow This Weekend

A low-pressure system moving into the region may bring some rain or thunderstorms to the area, but most Boston meteorologists agree that there's little chance of significant snowfall this weekend.

According to experts at NBC Boston and Channel 5, temperatures will be mild, ranging from the mid-40s to low 50s, with little to no accumulation expected in the Northeast.

Meteorologist Brian Donnelly from NBC Boston noted that a cold front will pass through the region on Saturday, bringing a chance of rain showers. However, he emphasized that any precipitation is unlikely to fall as snow.

Meanwhile, Channel 5's meteorologist, Jim Fitzgerald, predicted that the weekend will be mostly sunny with temperatures rising into the mid-50s by Sunday. He also warned against any potential winter storms in the coming days.

Despite these predictions, some residents are taking precautions and stocking up on supplies, just in case. But for now, it seems that a snow-free weekend is looking likely.

OMG u guys πŸ˜‚πŸŒ¨οΈ like isn't this great news?! no more shoveling snow for us Bostonians lol 🀣 i'm soooo ready to wear my shorts and sunglasses this weekend β˜€οΈπŸ‘™ let's make the most of it! πŸŽ‰ but seriously, a low-pressure system is coming in so we should all be prepared for some rain or thunderstorms. fingers crossed it doesn't get too crazy though πŸ˜…

omg i'm so done with this weather πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ! like can't we just get a decent snowfall already?! πŸ˜‚ but i guess not this time, it's gonna be all rain and sunshine 🌞🌨️. low 40s? mid 50s? that's just meh temps for me ☁️. can we pls just have a freak snowstorm like last year or something?! πŸ˜† gotta stock up on snacks and whatnot anyway πŸΏπŸ‘€

I know some ppl r getting excited for snow dayz 🌨️ but I think most of us should be prepared 4 the unexpected. I mean, u never no what's gonna happen right? Low pres systems can bring so much more than just rain or sun. Fingers crossed it stays mild this wknd tho! 😊

ugh I'm so bummed πŸ€• not having snow this weekend sounds like a total bummer! I know it's been pretty mild lately but still you'd think there'd be some flakes to go around πŸ’‘ I guess we'll just have to stick to our indoor activities and hot chocolate β˜•οΈ. I'm kinda weirded out by people stocking up on supplies tho πŸ€” what if they're just being extra cautious? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ anyway, let's hope the weekend is still cozy despite the lack of snow β„οΈπŸ’–

Snow's kinda bummer this weekend lol 🌨️ I get why ppl wanna be prepared tho, but at the same time, a little sunshine would be nice after all the cold we've had this winter 🌞. I'm more worried about those pesky wind chill temps, they can sneak up on u and make it feel even colder ❄️. Guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens with that low-pressure system moving in πŸ€”.

Ugh, what's the point of even having weather apps if they can't give us accurate info? I mean, come on Boston, one day you're predicting snow and the next you're saying there's no chance at all πŸ™„. And don't even get me started on the whole "mild" temperature thing, mid-40s to low 50s is basically winter weather if you ask me ❄️. I swear, meteorologists can't make up their minds sometimes πŸ˜’.

ugh, great, another snowless weekend πŸŒ¨οΈπŸ˜’ gotta be kidding me, i was really looking forward to making some hot chocolate by the window... anyway, at least the rain might bring some life back to the trees 🌳🌻, and temps are supposed to rise by sunday so that's something 😊. just wish it would snow already lol β„οΈπŸ˜‚

So like I was watching this vid on YouTube about cats playing piano and they were so funny πŸ±πŸ˜‚... anyway back to Boston weather... 40s and 50s sounds kinda nice but I dont wanna be out in the rain this weekend πŸ˜”... I mean what's the point of having a cold front if it's just gonna rain? And why do meteorologists always say there's like no chance of snow and then BAM! ❄️ Winter hits us hard last year so idk how reliable they are πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

I'm not really surprised lol, I mean it's been pretty mild this year so far... but I do hope it doesn't stay that way all winter 🀞. Still, I guess a break from the snow is nice too? My friend's little one is actually super excited because they got to go sledding last weekend and are like "please bring back the snow" πŸ˜‚.

I'm not buying this... like, at all πŸ˜’. Just because most meteorologists think there's no chance of significant snowfall doesn't mean we should be entirely sure πŸ€”. I've seen it happen before - a big storm system comes in and catches everyone off guard β›ˆοΈ. And let's not forget about those microbursts that can pop up and dump some serious snow πŸ’¨. So, yeah, I'm taking the chance of a little rain or thunderstorms with a grain of salt πŸŒ‚. Can't be too careful when it comes to winter weather 🌨️!

I'm so glad to hear that! Like, I was getting my cozy sweaters ready for a snowy weekend, but I guess not this time πŸ˜‚. Still, 40s and 50s sounds pretty nice, might be a good excuse to hit the outdoor markets or something. Not really complaining though, less shoveling sounds like a win 🀣

this whole thing sounds like an experiment to me... they want us to forget about winter, right? I mean think about it, no snow means less disruptions, more time for outdoor activities... but what's the real reason? are we just supposed to be oblivious to the fact that our weather patterns are getting all messed up? and those meteorologists, they're just telling us what they want us to hear. a cold front passing through on saturday, rain showers... sounds like a setup to me

🌨️ think they're right though... ppl always say nothin's guaranteed in weather forecasts but still expect us to plan our lives around it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ 40s and 50s might not sound bad but it's boston, we know how quickly things can turn 😊

ugh I was so hyped for a snow day this weekend πŸŒ¨οΈπŸ˜’ but i guess not gonna happen... remember when we could still get like 10 inches of snow and school would be cancelled? πŸ“š those were the days! now it's all about rain or sun, no excitement at all πŸŒžπŸ’¦ my grandma always says "you can't trust the weather forecast" lol I'm just glad I stocked up on snacks anyway πŸ˜‚

I'm so glad I don't have to shovel my driveway this weekend lol πŸ˜‚. But seriously, can we talk about how unpredictable the weather is lately? One day it's all sunny and 50 degrees, the next day there's a chance of snow flurries. It feels like we're always on edge waiting for something to happen.

And don't even get me started on how hard it is to plan stuff when you can't rely on the forecast πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. I've got friends who are planning winter festivals and markets, but now they're having second thoughts because of all the changes in the weather. It's just so frustrating!

I wish we could have some more reliable weather predictions. Like, I know it's not possible to predict with 100% accuracy, but can't we at least get some decent forecast days? 🀞

Aww man... no snow this weekend is a total bummer πŸ˜” I was hoping to hit the slopes or just enjoy a cozy day at home with a warm cuppa β˜•οΈ! Guess we'll have to find another way to make it a fun weekend, maybe even try out that new outdoor cafe everyone's been raving about πŸ€—. Still, can't say I'm complaining... spring is just around the corner and all that sunshine sounds like just what we need after a long winter πŸ’›

I don't get why people are freaking out about this πŸ˜…. I mean, it's not like they're expecting a blizzard or anything. A little rain and mild temps? It's not the end of the world! 🌞 They should probably just enjoy the weekend and not stock up on snow shovels just in case πŸ’¨. Plus, can't we all agree that some sunshine is just what Boston needs after a long winter? β˜€οΈ
