Where will 'Task' creator Brad Ingelsby take HBO's Delco drama in Season 2?

"Task" Creator Teases Sweeping Changes in Season 2: A Delco Drama on the Cusp of Turmoil.

HBO has green-lit a second season of "Task", a gritty crime drama centered around Detective Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), and fans are bracing for what's to come. Creator Brad Ingelsby, known for his complex storytelling, is leaving no stone unturned in shaping the narrative for Season 2.

At the center of it all is Robbie Prendergrast, played by Tom Pelphrey, whose life was forever altered when he stumbled upon a massive stash of fentanyl during a botched robbery. With this newfound wealth came a web of complex relationships and choices that could either define or destroy him. Will Maeve, his niece, opt for the safety net of witness protection, or will she choose to leave Delco behind, putting herself in harm's way? Could Robbie find redemption by facing his dark past?

Meanwhile, the corrupt detective Anthony Grasso is staring down serious charges and a possible deal with prosecutors to cooperate. His complicated history with task force colleague Lizzie Stover is also set to come under scrutiny. Will Tom choose forgiveness over revenge, or will their relationship remain strained as Grasso's world begins to unravel.

As for Tom's family life, his journey towards healing and recovery will likely continue to be a central theme in Season 2. His daughter Emily is nearing college age, while sister Sara navigates her own marital issues. With Tom's hands full at home, can he still devote himself to solving crimes? Will new relationships emerge or old wounds reopen?

One burning question on everyone's mind: will Mare Sheehan enter the world of "Task"? Kate Winslet has hinted at an open mind towards reprising her role as a detective from her hit series "Mare of Easttown", and it's clear that Ingelsby is leaving no stone unturned in exploring potential connections between Delco's law enforcement community.

As fans eagerly anticipate Season 2, one thing is certain: the stakes will be higher, the drama more intense, and the consequences more far-reaching than ever.

I'm not convinced about this "new" direction for Task Creator Brad Ingelsby is playing with fire 🔥. He's got a track record of complex storytelling but all these plot twists sound like they're straining to be connected. Can we get some actual source material to back up these rumors? What makes him think the audience will buy into Robbie's redemption arc after one season? 🤔

omg i'm so excited for season 2!!! 🤩 mark ruffalo's character is getting more complex and i love how brad ingelsby is adding new twists to the story! Robbie pelphrey's character has so many layers and i wanna know what happens next! 😲 and please, please, PLEASE make maeve a part of it too!!! 🤞 this season is gonna be lit!!!! 💥

🤔 I'm hyped for season 2 of Task! I love how the creators are setting up a complex web of relationships and choices that'll keep us on the edge of our seats 🎬. Robbie's storyline is gonna be so interesting, like what happens when you go from being an addict to trying to turn your life around? 💔 And Tom's family struggles will make me feel all the feels 😩. Can't wait to see how everything comes together! 🤞

But also gotta say, I'm a bit skeptical about Mare Sheehan joining the show... Kate Winslet is incredible as Mare in Easttown, and I don't want her character to get watered down or turned into just another "mystery guest" 😒. Still gonna tune in though, because Task has hooked me from episode one 💥!

omg have you seen that new avengers movie yet?? i'm literally dying to know what happens next idk if they're gonna do a solo harry potter movie or just stick with the marvel universe 😂 anyway back to "task" ugh i need to get my hands on those fentanyl stashes lol but seriously though brad ingelsby is def going all out for season 2 and i am HERE FOR it 👏 what's up with kate winslet tho? if she comes back as mare sheehan that'll be a major plot twist 🤯

I'm so stoked for season 2 of Task 🤯! The creator seems to have got some major plot twists planned out, and I love how it's gonna explore Robbie's new life with all the fentanyl money 😬. But what really has me hyped is if Mare Sheehan is gonna come back - that would be lit 🔥! And I'm also curious about Tom's family life, it seems like he's got a lot on his plate, but can he still handle being a detective and a dad at the same time? 🤔

Omg I'm literally SO hyped for season 2 of Task 🤯😲! The creator is literally bringing all these storylines together and I can already feel the tension building up. I love how they're exploring the complex relationships between the characters, especially Robbie's and Tom's struggles with their dark pasts. And omg please tell me Mare Sheehan is coming back 🤗👮‍♀️! Kate Winslet was amazing in Easttown and I'd love to see her bring that same intensity to Task.

But what really got me thinking is how this season is going to tackle the themes of family, trauma, and redemption. Tom's journey as a dad and his own healing process are so important to the show, and I'm excited to see where it takes us. The question of whether he can balance work and home life is literally the best one 🤔👀. Can't wait to dive in and find out!

omg, i'm SO down for season 2 of task!! 🤯 i need to know what happens with robbie's storyline, especially with that fentanyl stash - it's like, so messed up. 🤑 but at the same time, i feel bad for him, you know? his whole life is turned upside down and he's gotta navigate all these complicated relationships.

and ugh, anthony grasso has got some serious issues to deal with... like, how is he gonna survive this? 😅 and what about tom's family life? it sounds like they've got enough on their plates already, but then you throw crime-solving into the mix...

also, PLEASE tell me mare sheehan is back - i loved her character in mare of easttown! 🙌 if ingelsby is exploring connections between delco and easttown law enforcement, that's like, the ultimate crossover plot. i'm SO here for it!!! 💯

🤔 I'm loving this show so far! But what's up with Tom's family life? It feels like his personal struggles are gonna overshadow the case every week 🙄. Can we get some answers on that front already? And btw, if Mare Sheehan is back, how's her storyline gonna intersect with Robbie's? That's the real question 💡

Season 2 of "Task" is gonna be a mess 🤯... like, seriously, how are they gonna handle all these plot threads? I mean, Robbie's got his fentanyl issue, Tom's family life is a hot mess, and then you throw in the corruption with Grasso... it's like Ingelsby wants to make sure we're all confused by the end of season 1 😂. And don't even get me started on Tom and Lizzie's past drama, that's just gonna be a whole thing 🤦‍♂️. I hope they can at least tie up some loose ends, but I'm guessing there'll be more cliffhangers than you can shake a stick at 💥.
