Wikipedia Has Its Own Version of 'Wrapped' Now, But There's One Little Problem

Wikipedia has finally joined the league of popular apps that dish out personalized insights about our time spent using their services in a year-end recap format, dubbed "Wrapped." However, not everyone can access this feature due to a significant caveat.

The online encyclopedia's mobile app users are the only ones who will receive these statistics. If you're an avid Wikipedia user but don't own one of those smartphones or prefer to stay offline, now might be the time to consider downloading the app for future year-end reviews.

For instance, the stats reveal how many hours you spent reading on the app this year, as well as which articles you've visited most often. These statistics can also provide insight into the topics that interested you the most during 2025.

Beyond individual user data, Wikipedia is sharing platform-wide metrics. According to the Wikimedia Foundation, users spent a staggering 4.6 billion hours reading on Wikipedia this year alone. Notably, English-language articles accounted for 2.4 billion of these hours, with volunteer editors contributing over 66 million edits in a single year.

The most-read English-language articles are also listed by month and overall. Pope Leo XIV's article took the top spot in May, ranking fifth overall on the list with an impressive 22 million page views. New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's Wikipedia page was the seventh most-read of the year, garnering over 20 million visits.

Interestingly, popular culture dominates the list of the 20 most-read English Wikipedia articles in 2025, with movies and TV shows like 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps,' 'Weapons,' and 'Thunderbolts' making it into the top 20. Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' film took an impressive eighth spot.

Lastly, the top three most-read articles of the year were the page for serial killer Ed Gein, which garnered 31 million visits, and Wikipedia's list of deaths in 2025 with 42 million views. Charlie Kirk's article claimed the title as the most-read Wikipedia page of 2025, attracting an astonishing 44.9 million viewers.

With this release, it seems that even online resources are now using data to deliver unique user experiences.

omg its crazy how wikipedia is giving us a year in review πŸ˜‚ like who knew ed gein was so fascinating? 42 million views on his page is wild! i guess you have to be interested in true crime or weird history to care about him tho πŸ€ͺ but still, its cool that they're sharing platform-wide metrics too. like 4.6 billion hours spent reading wikipedia this year alone is insane 😲 can't wait to see what other fun facts and stats wikipedia comes out with next year πŸŽ‰

I feel like we're living in a world where everything is all about personalized experiences 😊. I mean, Wikipedia's "Wrapped" thing is pretty cool, but at the same time, I'm kinda bummed that non-smartphone users can't access it. Like, what if you don't have an iPhone or Android? It feels like we're being forced to adapt to these new tech habits.

But hey, on a more interesting note, 4.6 billion hours spent reading on Wikipedia is wild 🀯! And the fact that popular culture articles are dominating the most-read list isn't surprising at all. I mean, who doesn't love reading about movies and TV shows online? It's also kinda cool to see Ryan Coogler's film making it into the top 20.

It's just interesting to think about how data-driven experiences are becoming the norm πŸ“Š. Like, Wikipedia's using user data to deliver unique insights... it's like they're trying to give us a personalized encyclopedia or something πŸ˜…. Not sure if I'm loving or hating this trend, but it's definitely an interesting one to watch.

omg i'm soooo jealous 🀩 I wish we had access to wikipedia's "wrapped" feature too!!! πŸ˜‚ its so cool that you can see how much time you spend on the app and which articles interest you most. but omg 4.6 billion hours reading on wikipedia in one year?!?! thats crazy πŸ’₯ i'm downloading the app ASAP so i can see my own stats πŸ“±πŸ‘

I'm kinda stoked that Wikipedia is giving us a year-end recap πŸ€“, but I gotta say, it's a bit weird that only mobile app users can access these stats πŸ“±. Like, what about people who don't have smartphones or prefer to stay offline? It's definitely a good idea for them to download the app though... maybe they'll finally get some insight into how much time they're wasting on Wikipedia πŸ˜‚.

Anyway, 4.6 billion hours reading on Wikipedia is insane! 🀯 I'm not surprised that English-language articles are still the most popular, but it's cool to see what topics are trending. That Pope Leo XIV article taking the top spot in May is wild πŸ’₯. And wow, New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's page was seventh most-read? Not bad for a Wikipedia page! πŸ€“

I'm also surprised to see popular culture dominating the list of top 20 English Wikipedia articles... 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' making it into the top 20 is wild πŸ˜‚. And Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' film taking eighth spot? That's some serious fandom going on 🎬.

Lastly, Ed Gein and deaths in 2025 being two of the most-read articles... yeah, that's just weird 😳. But hey, at least it's giving us some insight into what people are interested in online.

I'M SO GLAD WIKIPEDIA IS DOING THIS "WRAPPED" THING NOW! IT'S LIKE, WE GET TO SEE JUST HOW MUCH TIME WE SPEND ON THE APP AND WHAT KINDS OF ARTICLES WE'RE MOST INTO πŸ€“. I MEAN, 4.6 BILLION HOURS SPENT READING ON WIKIPEDIA? THAT'S INSANE!!! AND TO THINK WE EVEN MADE OVER 66 MILLION EDITS THIS YEAR ALONE?! IT JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW MUCH PEOPLE REALLY CARE ABOUT KNOWING STUFF 😊.

omg you gotta get wikipedia app already lol its like they're giving us free year end reviews but only for mobile users idk about all those hours i spend reading on wiki but yeah its kinda cool that we can see what i've been interested in the most this year btw who knew ed gein was so popular? 44.9 million views on charlie kirk's article is wild too!

man I'm loving how wikipedia is getting all fancy with these "Wrapped" thingies πŸ€” I mean who doesn't love looking back at what they've been reading and learning throughout the year? and 4.6 billion hours spent reading on wikipedia alone is wild, can you imagine if we used that kind of time effectively in real life? maybe we'd be a better world by now πŸ˜‚

I gotta say, I'm both excited and kinda bummed at the same time about Wikipedia's "Wrapped" thingy πŸ€”. On one hand, it's awesome that they're giving users a personalized recap of their time on the site – it's like, finally getting to see how much time we spend binge-reading about random stuff on Wikipedia πŸ˜‚.

But, like, I'm also kinda disappointed that only mobile app users get to access this feature πŸ“±. What about all us desktop dwellers? Don't we deserve a year-end recap too? It's like, are we not worth the effort or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And, omg, those stats are wild! 4.6 billion hours spent reading on Wikipedia this year? That's insane! πŸ’₯ And to think that volunteer editors contributed over 66 million edits in a single year... it's like, wow, the community is really something special πŸ™Œ.

But, you know what's even crazier? The most-read articles of the year being dominated by popular culture stuff πŸŽ¬πŸ“Ί. Like, I get it, people love reading about movies and TV shows on Wikipedia too πŸ˜„. But, like, shouldn't we be learning more about, like, history or science or something? πŸ€” Just kidding ( sorta) πŸ™ƒ.

Anyway, I guess this is all just a reminder that even online resources are using data to deliver unique user experiences now... and, you know what? That's kinda cool, I guess 😎.

lol Wikipedia is getting all fancy with its "Wrapped" thingy πŸ€”πŸ“Š. I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised they didn't include offline users in the mix... like what about us old school Wikipedia fans who don't wanna be glued to our screens 24/7? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Still, it's cool that we can get a glimpse into how much time we spend on the site, and which articles are really popular. I'm guessing mine's gonna be some obscure topic about ancient history or something 😴. And wow, 4.6 billion hours spent reading? That's crazy! 🀯

I'm loving how Wikipedia is getting all wrapped up with their year-end recap feature πŸŽπŸ“Š! It's like they're giving us a big ol' pat on the back for being awesome users 🀩! And can we talk about those stats? 4.6 billion hours spent reading on Wikipedia this year? That's insane 😲! I'm curious to see how mine breaks down, but also kinda bummed that it only shows up in my phone app πŸ“±πŸ’». Guess I'll have to get with the times and download the app ASAP πŸ”΄

omg u gotta download wikipedia app ASAP u wont know how much time u spent reading wikipidia lol like 4.6 billion hours tho thats crazy! i was surprised to see ed gein was the most-read article this year didnt think ppl would be that into him but also kinda makes sense. ryan coogler's film is a great example of wikipedia's impact on pop culture too i wonder what other movies and shows will make it into the top 20 next yr

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised they're not giving desktop users access to this feature tho πŸ™„ my friend was like what's the point of having Wikipedia if you can't even see your own stats? πŸ˜‚ but i guess that's just how it goes with new updates and stuff πŸ“± anyway, 4.6 billion hours spent reading on wikipedia is wild! πŸ‘€ I mean, who knew we'd spend so much time learning about history and random facts πŸ€“ what's next? πŸš€
