'Will Trent' actor Ramon Rodriguez talks about excitement for season 4

Ramon Rodriguez Reflects on Taking on the Role of a Lifetime: Will Trent

For Ramon Rodriguez, landing the lead role in the popular drama series "Will Trent" was more than just a career boost – it was a chance to dive into his own roots. The Puerto Rican actor discussed how he initially turned down the part, citing concerns that cop procedural shows were becoming too formulaic.

"I wasn't sure yet how we're going to stand out and make ourselves different," Rodriguez explained in an interview with Joelle Garguilo, entertainment reporter for Channel 7. "And I really think the stories we're telling... it's dramatic and funny." After multiple conversations with the show's creators, he finally took the leap, a decision that has proven to be both rewarding and challenging.

In season four, viewers can expect Will Trent to face significant personal and professional turmoil as he unravels his own identity. "He's going to go through a lot, sadly," Rodriguez said, hinting at the complexities of his character's storyline. New romances will emerge, old flames rekindled, and Will's already-shaky sense of self will be put to the test.

The new season picks up right where the last one left off, with a major cliffhanger that will leave fans on the edge of their seats. "It is going to be the ride of your life," Rodriguez warned Garguilo. "You're going to want to tune in."

For Rodriguez, playing Will Trent has been more than just an acting gig – it's a chance to explore his own heritage and bring a unique perspective to the role. As he navigates the ups and downs of this complex character, he's drawing on his own experiences as a first-generation American.

The season premiere of "Will Trent" airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Channel 7, promising to deliver an unforgettable ride for viewers.

just saw dis interview with Ramon Rodriguez 😊 about playin as Will Trent. gotta admit, i'm lowkey hyped 🤩 about new season. he's doin a great job bringin that personal touch to the role. and honestly, can't wait to see where his character goes from here... might just need an extra battery for my phone 😅

You know what I'm trying to say here is that it takes courage to take the leap and go after something you're not sure about. Ramon Rodriguez could've played it safe and turned down the role, but he chose to trust his instincts and push himself outside of his comfort zone. And let me tell you, that's where the real growth happens 💡. It's easy to get caught up in what we think others want us to do, but sometimes you gotta listen to your own voice and take a chance on yourself 🌟. Will Trent's story may be dramatic and funny, but it's also got a lot of heart - and that's something we can all learn from 😊.

omg I love Ramon Rodriguez in that show!!! 🤩 but omg what's with the police procedural thing? are they making it different this season or wut 🤔 and btw is he dating anyone in real life?? 😂 btw will trent sounds sooo good! i need to watch it ASAP 📺

I'm not sure if I love or hate how much Will Trent is going to be on my screen again 🤯... I mean, I know it's a great show and all, but we're already burned out from the last season, right? 😴 It's like they took one bad cliffhanger and just ran with it. And now they're making us wait another whole season for answers... 🕰️ My anxiety is already spiking just thinking about it 💀. But at the same time, I have to admit that Ramon Rodriguez is pretty great as Will Trent, he brings this level of authenticity to the role... 🤝 maybe this season will be different? 🤔 Only time (and my sanity) will tell 😅.

I'm so stoked for Ramon Rodriguez's portrayal of Will Trent! He's bringing this character to life in a way that's gonna be super authentic and relatable 🤯. I love how he's drawing from his own roots and experiences as a first-gen American - it's gonna bring such depth to the show 💡. And let me tell you, the plot twists are gonna be CRAZY 🚨! The fact that they're picking up where the last season left off is genius - I'm already hooked and can't wait for Tuesday night 🕰️. Bring on the drama, humor, and Will Trent's journey to self-discovery 💥!

🤔 I'm not surprised Ramon Rodriguez took the lead role in "Will Trent" – it's about time a fresh face shook things up in cop procedural shows that can get pretty stale. Now we're talking about representation and bringing a new perspective to the table, which is what politics is all about – giving voice to underrepresented communities 🗣️. As an actor drawing from his own heritage, he's showing us that identity matters in storytelling. Can't help but think of how this could inspire more diversity in other areas of entertainment and beyond 👀

omg i'm so hyped for the new season of will trent!!! 🤩 i mean ramon rodriguez is such a talented actor and his character's storyline sounds so intense 💥 he's got this whole identity crisis thing going on and it's gonna be SO dramatic 😱 i love how he's drawing from his own heritage to bring a unique perspective to the role, btw. 🙌 also, that cliffhanger at the end of season 3 is still on my mind and i need to know what happens next ASAP 🤯

🎬👀 I'm loving the complexity of Will Trent's character! As someone who grew up watching cop procedural shows with my abuela (grandma), it's crazy to see how far they've come since then 🤓. But, gotta say, I'm a little skeptical about the formulaic thing... didn't Ramon Rodriguez just get caught up in the hype of playing a lead role? 😅 Like, didn't he realize that cop dramas are all about the formula? 🚔👮‍♂️ Still, I'm excited to see how he brings his own heritage and experiences to the role – it's gonna be fascinating to watch him navigate Will Trent's identity crisis! 🔥

I can totally feel Ramon Rodriguez's passion for the role of Will Trent... 🤗 It's amazing how playing a character that resonates with his own heritage can bring such depth to the performance. I'm sure it won't be easy, but I love how he's embracing the challenge and bringing his own experiences to the table 💪. The fact that he initially was hesitant but ultimately took the leap is a testament to his courage as an artist. Can't wait to see how the new season unfolds! 📺💥

🤔 just thinkin... how many shows are like this nowadays? cop procedural dramas that keep us guessin' and invested in the characters lives 📺💥 season four sounds intense, not sure if i can handle all the drama 😬 but i'm def gonna tune in to see what ramon rodriguez brings to will trent's story 👀

I'm low-key stoked that Ramon Rodriguez took on the role of Will Trent 🤯, especially considering he was initially hesitant about cop procedural shows being too formulaic 📺. I think it's dope that he brought his own Puerto Rican roots to the character – it adds a fresh perspective to the storylines 💡. But what really got me is when they said this new season will be all about Will navigating his personal and professional identity, and him going through some tough times 😬. It sounds like we're in for a wild ride 🎢. I'm loving how Ramon's exploring his heritage through this role – it's giving me so much to think about 💭. Bring on the season premiere! 🎉

I got some major doubts about this whole "Will Trent" thing 🤔... like what's up with the timing? Season four is literally right after season three... that can't be a coincidence, right? And what's with all these cliffhangers? It sounds like they're trying to keep us hooked or something 😒. I mean, I've been watching the show and it's pretty good, don't get me wrong, but there has to be more to this than just a formulaic cop drama... maybe they're trying to brainwash us with all these twists and turns? 🤦‍♂️ Anyway, gotta tune in Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET to find out... 👀

Imo 🤷‍♂️, I think its cool that Ramon Rodriguez wasnt sold on the show initially cuz sometimes those doubts can lead u to make better decisions 😊. Cop procedural shows can get stale after a while, maybe its time 4 some change 💡. also idk if im down for all the personal drama & identity crisis that Will Trent is goin thru 🤕...like wont it get old after a bit?
