A fatal stabbing in the Bronx has left a community reeling. Pamela Almonte Cabrea, a 35-year-old woman, was stabbed multiple times outside Mama Dora Bar and Lounge early Sunday morning, authorities revealed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred following an argument at the bar on East Kingsbridge Road. Surveillance footage showed a chaotic scene unfolding among late-night revelers as police rushed to the scene shortly after 4 a.m.
Cabrea was taken by private car to BronxCare Health Systems before being transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The NYPD is currently investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet. Police are still reviewing evidence to piece together what led up to the fatal confrontation.
Despite the alarming crime statistics in the area β including a 55% decrease in homicides and a 16% rise in felony assaults within the 52nd Precinct, where the attack took place β police have stressed that they will continue working tirelessly to identify the perpetrator.
