2 teens arrested in deadly stabbing of 17-year-old Queens boy, NYPD says

Two Queens Teens Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of 17-Year-Old Boy

Police have arrested two teenagers, one 17 and the other 18, in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Queens. The victim, Josue Argudo, was found critically injured on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven after being stabbed in the neck around 3:45 p.m. Friday.

According to authorities, Argudo had just arrived from school when he encountered one of his alleged attackers, who later turned himself in to detectives. The 17-year-old's identity remains under wraps due to his age. A short time later, police apprehended Derek Trejo, the other suspect, on Sunday evening.

Both teens have been charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon, with the 18-year-old facing additional charges from a previous incident involving gang assault and weapons possession. According to court records, Trejo had previously appeared in court for those charges but was released without bail.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with police still investigating what sparked the physical altercation between the two teens. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz described the stabbing as "a callous act of violence" and expressed her condolences to Argudo's family and friends.

Community leaders are speaking out against the senseless violence in Queens, with Congresswoman Nydia VelΓ‘zquez calling it "unacceptable" and urging action to stop such incidents. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral expenses for the victim, who had recently arrived in the US to pursue his dreams.

As authorities continue to investigate, two lives have been forever changed by a single act of violence.

I feel so sad about what happened to that young kid Josue... πŸ€• Two teens could've just let things go instead of resorting to violence... it's like they lost their heads for a second 😱 I remember when I was in high school, we had our disagreements too but we never thought it'd end like this. What's wrong with our kids these days? πŸ€” They need to learn how to resolve conflicts peacefully. Gang activity is no excuse for violence... that Trejo kid had a chance to turn his life around but he chose not to πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Now poor Josue's family has to deal with the loss of their son, and it's just not right πŸ˜”

πŸ˜” my heart goes out to Josue's family and friends 😭 it's just so senseless that this young guy's life was cut short over something stupid πŸ’€ these teenagers made a choice to hurt someone and now they're facing the consequences πŸ€• but at the same time, I feel bad for them too because they're still just kids themselves πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ 18 is kinda old to be making decisions that can lead to something like this 😩

man this is so sad πŸ€• a 17 year old just trying to live his life and get to school gets stabber like that what's going on in queens?!? it's all over the news every day now these teenagers are gonna be locked up for a long time hopefully they learn their lesson but at what cost to this family and friends of the victim πŸ€• I'm so done with senseless violence we need to do something about this before more lives get lost πŸ˜”

This is so sad πŸ€• I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I made this diagram to try and visualize what's going on:
```
+---------------+
School
(3:45 pm)
+---------------+
Josue
| (stabbed)
Jamaica Ave
```
It just goes to show that these violent incidents can happen anywhere, anytime. I'm thinking about the victim's family and friends right now... πŸ€— They're going through a tough time. We need to come together as a community to support them in any way we can.

I'm also curious about why this happened. Was it just a random act of violence or was there something that led up to it? I hope the police are able to find out what really went down.

Ugh, can you even believe this? Two teens, 17 and 18, stabbing some poor kid in Queens and just casually walking away like it's no big deal 🀯! I mean, what's wrong with these kids? Did they not learn about basic human decency or something? And the motive behind this is still a mystery? Come on, police! Get to the bottom of this already! πŸ’‘ And another thing, why is the 18-year-old getting all these extra charges for some old incident? That's just unfair. πŸ€” We need more accountability and less leniency when it comes to violence like this. Community leaders are talking about "sensible solutions" but I think we just need to lock up these kids and hope they grow up eventually πŸ˜’.

Ugh, can't believe these kids were let out on their own after Trejo's previous charges 🀯. I mean, 18 and already got out? That's not accountability, that's just more problems waiting to happen πŸ’”. And now they're both facing serious time for this senseless murder... about time the system finally caught up πŸ•°οΈ. How many lives have to get lost before we do something about these kids being released back into society without proper supervision? 😑

This is what we're getting at, folks! 🀯 Two teens, one 17 and one 18, and they're taking out their frustrations on an innocent kid. What's going on here? Is it gang activity? Is it just a case of youthful recklessness gone wrong? 🚫 I'm calling foul on our education system, we need to do better in keeping these kids off the streets. And what about our mental health services, are they getting the help they need?

We gotta think bigger than this one incident. We need systemic change, not just empty promises from politicians like Rep VelΓ‘zquez. πŸ’Ό I'm all for community support and GoFundMe pages, but we can't just sweep this under the rug. Where's the accountability? πŸ€” The DA's words feel hollow, what's going to happen to these teens behind bars? Is it tough enough sentences or is it just a slap on the wrist? πŸšͺ

Ugh πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, can't believe they're still letting these kids use the forum to share their thoughts on this heinous crime... I mean, come on! They should at least be doing it anonymously or something 🀐. It's just a platform for people who want to gawk and share their opinions without any accountability πŸ™„. And don't even get me started on the GoFundMe page - why can't they just have a proper discussion forum instead of all these random fundraisers? πŸ˜’ I mean, what's next? A thread about how to raise money for a funeral? It's just so... tacky πŸ’Έ

πŸ€” I think we're jumping to conclusions here, fam... Two teens arrested, doesn't mean they're monsters πŸ˜’. We don't know the whole story yet. Maybe they were just having a bad day, or something happened that made them lash out? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Let's not rush to judgment and remember we're humans, too. πŸ‘Š

Ugh, I'm still shaken by this news πŸ€•. The thought of those two teens walking around with knives, just waiting for an opportunity to strike, is terrifying. And the fact that one of them was involved in gang assault and weapons possession before makes me wonder if we're doing enough to keep our communities safe πŸ’”.

It's heartbreaking to think about Josue's family and friends having to go through this, especially after he had just arrived in the US with so much promise 🌟. I'm glad that a GoFundMe page has been set up to help them cover funeral expenses, but it's not enough to bring him back πŸ’€.

I wish our leaders would take more concrete action to address the root causes of this senseless violence, like lack of resources and job opportunities for young people 🀝. Until then, we'll just have to keep holding out hope that one day, we can create a safer, more compassionate world for everyone 🌎.

Ugh, can't believe what's happening in our community πŸ€•! Like, these teens are so young and reckless - stabbing someone over just who-knows-what? It's just not right, you know? 😑 And to think they're still out there, walking around with knives, thinking they're invincible... it's crazy πŸ’€. What's wrong with our youth today?! They need some guidance, stat! 🚨 Like, we should be teaching them about empathy and conflict resolution, not how to throw down a blade πŸ‘Š. It's up to us as adults to step in and make sure these kids don't end up like this - behind bars or worse 😟. Let's hope the authorities can get to the bottom of it and bring some real justice to this poor kid's family πŸ•ŠοΈ.

omg u guys no why i'm defending these teens lol 🀣 they're just 17 & 18 and stuff happens, u can't judge them for one mistake right? the 18yr old had a previous charge too, so like what's one more crime gonna do to him? & another thing, it's not like he planned to kill the guy, it was a heat of the moment thing. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ also gotta think about the victim's family, they need closure or whatever. maybe we should be focusin on the community comin together 2 help each other instead of just bashin ppl online? πŸ’”
