5 Seconds of Summer Complete a ‘180 Flip’ With New Album ‘Everyone’s A Star!’: Stream It Now

5 Seconds of Summer: A New Chapter Unfolds with 'Everyone's a Star!'

Time flies when you're having fun. It's been over a decade since the Australian pop-rock band released their self-titled debut album in 2014. Those four fresh-faced Sydney lads catapulted to stardom, securing three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 within a streak of three consecutive chart-toppers: Sounds Good Feels Good (2015) and Youngblood (2018). This Australian act etched its name in history books as the first to achieve this feat – not only on the all-genres weekly chart but also as the only band to have their first three studio albums debut at the top of the Billboard 200.

Now, more than a decade later, 5 Seconds of Summer is still sizzling hot. The band members – Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin – are back with the release of Everyone's A Star!, their sixth studio album. Recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, this new record boasts an upbeat, vibrant vibe that was built from a place of genuine passion.

"We weren't chasing a sound or a trend; we were chasing what felt exciting to us," reads a statement from the band. "Every track feels alive in a way that reminds us of why we started making music in the first place. Everyone's A Star! is the most 'us' we've ever sounded, and we're so proud to share it with everyone who's been part of this journey."

The album features collaborations with top producers like Jason Evigan, Julian Bunetta, and John Ryan. Director Frank Borin also helmed the music video for "Telephone Busy," which arrives today.

According to Luke Hemmings, the new collection marks a 180-degree flip from their introspective and ethereal self-titled 2022 studio album. The band's approach has shifted towards embracing every exciting or unique experience in the studio, resulting in work that feels like their best yet – something they've been building up to for years.

The Aussies will kick off their Everyone's A Star! Tour in March 2026 with dates in the UK and Ireland before embarking on a weeks-long run across Europe. US concerts will follow in May, including two shows at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden.

With career album sales topping 18 million and over 10 billion streams under their belt, 5 Seconds of Summer has cemented its status as one of the world's most successful bands. They've scored 15 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, with a best of No. 7 for 2018's "Youngblood." A total of six 5SOS titles have cracked the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Stream Everyone's A Star! Below and get ready to rock out with one of the world's most beloved bands still burning bright after all these years.

OMG, like I'm literally SO hyped for 5 Seconds of Summer's new album Everyone's A Star!! 🤩 It feels like just yesterday they were fresh-faced Sydney lads making waves in the music scene and now they're this iconic, chart-topping machine 💥 The fact that they've got a whole team of top-notch producers behind them must be giving them so much creative freedom to experiment with different sounds and vibes. idk how they're able to pull off releasing another album like this - it feels like they're just rehashing the same formula that made them successful in the first place 🤔. I mean, a 180-degree flip from their last album? sounds like an exaggeration to me. where's the depth? the substance? I'm still waiting for some real introspection or experimentation. it's always the same energetic and catchy pop-rock vibes... 🎸

It's amazing how music can transcend time 🎵. I think what's impressive about 5 Seconds of Summer's latest album is that it feels so authentically "them". They've clearly taken a different approach from their last record, and it shows in the final product – there's an energy to these tracks that's infectious 🔊. The fact that they're embracing experimentation and having fun with the creative process really shines through on this new album... it makes me wanna jump up and dance 💃!

I'm so stoked about their new album, "Everyone's A Star!" 🤩 It sounds like they've finally found that perfect balance between being true to themselves and pushing the boundaries of what they can do as a band. Their passion is super infectious and it really shines through in this record. I love how they've gone back to basics and just let their music be, without trying too hard to fit into a specific mold. The collaborations with top producers are a great touch too! 👏

I don’t usually comment but... I think this new album from 5 Seconds of Summer is gonna be lit 🔥! They've come a long way since their debut in 2014, and it's awesome to see them still sizzling hot. The fact that they're taking a different approach with this new album, embracing every exciting experience in the studio, makes me super hyped for it 🎉. I love how passionate they are about music, it's infectious! And can we talk about how talented those Aussie lads are? 😍 They've got such a unique sound that's all them and no one else. I'm definitely gonna be checking out the tour dates and streaming this album ASAP 💥

🤯 I'm so over the whole "new chapter" thing, you know? It feels like every band is trying to reinvent themselves at some point in their career and suddenly they're all like "oh look, we've finally found our true sound!" Meanwhile, the last album was just fine and dandy. I mean, I love 5SOS as much as the next person, but can't they just ride the wave of success instead of trying to rebrand themselves? Their music is catchy, their live shows are lit, but do we really need a new "us" sound every five years? 🎸

I'm excited for their new album, it sounds like a game changer 💥 Their journey from debut album in 2014 to now is truly inspiring 🤩 I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of a band that's been on such an incredible ride? They've always had a special energy to them, and this new album seems to be no exception 🔥 The fact that they were able to experiment with different sounds and styles without compromising their unique vibe is what makes me love this album even more 🎶 It'll be amazing to see them perform on tour next year – can't wait for the US shows at Madison Square Garden 🌆

I'm so hyped for this new album release 😍🎸 5 Seconds of Summer is literally killing it, you guys! They've come a long way since their debut back in 2014 and I love how they're not afraid to experiment and try new things on this latest record. The fact that they were able to tap into that special something again is just amazing 🤩 Their music always has this infectious energy that makes me wanna dance and sing along 💃🎶

I'm also loving the vibe of this album, it's like they're back to their roots with this new one 🌴 I've been listening to "Everyone's A Star!" nonstop since it dropped and I'm already planning on getting tickets for their tour 🎟️ Can't wait to see them live again!

I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... 🤔 They're like trying to distract us from something big by releasing a new album after 11 years? It feels too convenient. I mean, what were they doing in the meantime? 🎶 And why are they working with all these top producers? Are they trying to create some kind of mind control music or something? 😅 Plus, have you seen the lyrics on this new album? "We weren't chasing a sound or a trend; we were chasing what felt exciting to us"... sounds like just a bunch of fluff to me. I bet there's more to it than meets the eye... 🤷‍♂️
