80-year-old Detroit-area bakery expands - Detroit Metro Times

I'm literally so over how amazing this expansion is 🤯! 37k sq ft of new facilities? That's like, whoa. And the fact that they're staying debt-free and not taking any grants just says so much about George Kordas' commitment to his family's legacy and their employees 💕. I mean, it's not just about selling buns, it's about supporting local restaurants and institutions. It's like, what a great way to give back to the community 🌟.

And can we talk about sustainability for a sec? Implementing eco-friendly practices is so underrated, but Metropolitan Baking Company is totally on top of it 🌿. Reducing their environmental footprint is not just good for the planet, it's also good business sense 🤑. I'm literally sending all my love to Hamtramck and George Kordas - they're doing everything right 👍. This expansion is going to be HUGE, and I couldn't be more excited!

lol I dont get why theyre expanding so much, like, who needs 40% more capacity? Arent they just gonna make more hot dogs & buns then? 🤔 anyway, its cool they got sustainable practices now, that's a huge step forward for our planet. gotta love the fact they kept their debt-free status tho, thats real commitment to quality over profit 💸 and btw, why do they have to ship all those loaves of bread nationwide lol, maybe just stick to what you know best?

I'm lovin' this expansion! 🤩 It's awesome that Metropolitan Baking Company is investin' in new facilities and sustainable practices. I mean, 800k pounds of flour annually? That's a lot of bread...or buns! 😂 But seriously, it's great to see a family-run business prioritizin' quality and financial stability. They're not just churnin' out products, they're buildin' a community. And I love that they're supportin' local restaurants and institutions – it's all about the neighborhood vibe, you know? 👍 The new break room and lockers for staff are a nice touch too! Who doesn't love a comfy break room? 😌
