A 15-week 'Walk for Peace' concludes with Buddhist monks' arrival in Washington

I'm glad to see these monks making an impact here in D.C. πŸ™ But, I gotta say, 2,300 miles is a pretty long way to walk, especially with all the crazy traffic they had to deal with. 😬 And what about their safety? I mean, having one of them lose a leg and two getting hurt? That's some serious concerns.

Still, I get it - these monks were trying to spread a message of peace and mindfulness, which is something we could definitely use more of in this country right now 🀝. It's interesting that they're planning to meet with lawmakers about declaring Vesak as a national holiday - maybe it'll bring some folks together who wouldn't normally interact.

I do love how the community came out to support them, even if they didn't all understand what Buddhism was about 😊. That's the beauty of these kinds of events - they bring people together and make us think about things we might not have otherwise considered.

The fact that this trek is ending after 108 days is also pretty cool 🌟. It's like a big test of endurance, but also a reminder that sometimes you just gotta keep going even when it feels hard.

man, i'm so done with this whole "peace walk" thing πŸ™„. like, yeah, it's cute that 19 monks walked from texas to dc without any major incidents (except for those two guys who got hurt) πŸ€•. but let's not forget the real reason they're doing this: to get some sympathy and attention from americans πŸ€‘. i mean, come on, a bunch of monks walking around in socks because they don't want shoes? it sounds like something out of a bad joke πŸ˜‚.

and don't even get me started on the whole "if we can cultivate peace within ourselves, it will radiate outward" thing πŸ™„. sure, because that's exactly what americans need: more new-agey self-help nonsense πŸ’«. meanwhile, our country is still reeling from all the real problems like income inequality and climate change 🀯.

anyway, congrats to the monks for making it to dc without too many major mishaps πŸŽ‰. but let's not forget that this whole "peace walk" thing is just a PR stunt 😏.

Wow πŸ™πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ these monks are total inspiration! I mean, 2k miles walking barefoot or in socks... that's dedication, fam πŸ’ͺ. And it's not just about them, but the impact they've had on people's lives... like, I saw a vid of some dude in Texas who was so moved by their presence he started crying 😭. It's crazy how something as simple as walking can bring people together and spread this vibe of peace & compassion πŸŒŽπŸ’– Interesting

I think its amazing how this whole walk thing has brought people together πŸ™. I mean, these monks have been walking for like 15 weeks straight, dealing with all sorts of crazy stuff along the way, but they never gave up. And it's not just about them, its about the message of peace and mindfulness that they're spreading. Like, Mark Duykers said something really interesting about how people from different backgrounds were coming out to support these monks even if they didn't know much about Buddhism. That just goes to show that when we focus on a shared goal or value, like peace and compassion, we can transcend our differences. And its not like the monks are trying to convert anyone or anything, they're just sharing their own experiences and perspectives in the hopes of creating a more harmonious world. I think this whole thing is super inspiring and it would be awesome if more people could learn from these guys and start cultivating some inner peace themselves πŸ™πŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ.

just saw this news about those 19 Buddhist monks who just finished their epic 2k mile walk from texas to DC πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸ•‰οΈ, i gotta say i'm feeling really inspired by their message of peace & mindfulness 😌. it's crazy how something so spiritual can have such a profound impact on people's lives, like mark Duykers said πŸ‘, even folks who don't know the first thing about Buddhism were still moved to tears by those monks' kindness & compassion ❀️. i think we could all learn from their example - if we can just take a moment to breathe, feel our own energy, and spread some love, that's when real change happens πŸ’–.

πŸ™ I think its kinda cool how the monks walked 2k miles barefoot... or with just socks lol 🀣. I mean, can u imagine doing that? πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚ they seem like really strong ppl tho, especially after what happened in houston πŸš—πŸ’”. The thing is, their message of peace is still relatable even if ppl dont no much about buddhism πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Its all about bein present and calm in a world thats always goin crazy πŸŒͺοΈπŸ’†β€β™‚οΈ
