A nine-goal thriller at Fulham and Romero rescues Spurs | Football Weekly

Tottenham Hotspur's 3-2 victory over Fulham in the Premier League was an absolute nail-biter, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match.

The visiting team came out on top thanks to a last-minute stop from Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and a late strike from Romero. The Spanish forward scored his second goal of the game in the 90th minute, securing a dramatic comeback for Tottenham after they had trailed by two goals at one point.

Fulham took an early lead through Aleksandar Mitrovic's penalty in the sixth minute, before adding to their advantage with a second strike from Ivan Toney just five minutes later. The London-based team continued to press, and it seemed like Fulham would dominate the match for most of its duration.

However, Tottenham gradually clawed back into the game, scoring two goals in quick succession through Heung-Min Son and Lucas Pawlon's own goal. Spurs levelled the score at 2-2 just before halftime, setting up a thrilling second half that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Tottenham's resurgence was largely due to the heroics of Romero, who made several crucial saves throughout the match, particularly in the final stages when his side was trailing by one goal. His late strike sealed the win for Spurs, and left Fulham reeling from their loss.

The match showcased the unpredictable nature of football, where a single moment can turn the tide of the game. Tottenham's comeback will be remembered as an example of the sport's ability to deliver unforgettable moments of drama and excitement.

⚽️ What a game! As the great philosopher, Aristotle, once said... "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Tottenham's resilience and determination were on full display today πŸ™Œ The team showed that even in the face of adversity, they can dig deep and come out on top πŸ’ͺ

OMG 1️⃣ that was CRAZY!!! Spurs were down by two but came back like a boss! 🀯 Lloris made some sick saves in the last min tho πŸ˜‚ and Romero scored the winner πŸŽ‰ I mean what can you do when u're down 2-0? πŸ˜‚ 3 points for the comeback kings tho πŸ’ͺ

omg what a game!!! 🀯 i'm still on edge thinkin bout that last minute save from lloris 😲 his reflexes are insane! πŸ’₯ but seriously tho, fulham had it in the bag for like half the match they were dominatin & then spurs just went to town πŸ”₯ son & romero's strike was pure magic ✨ tony pawlon's own goal tho πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ i mean who expects that? πŸ˜‚ anyhoo spurs deserved that win after comin back from 2 goals down πŸ’ͺ can't wait for the next match! πŸ˜ƒ

omg i just saw this game and it was literally insane!! 🀯 fulham was up by 2 goals and then spurs just came back and won it in the last minute lol what a game!!! πŸ™Œ romero is a total legend now, his saves were incredible πŸ˜‚ and son's goal at the end was so cool! ❀️ i don't think i've ever seen a comeback like that before... it just goes to show how unpredictable football can be. 🀯

just watched that crazy match lol what was up with Fulham scoring 2 goals in like 5 minutes? seemed like they just got complacent for a sec, didn't realize Spurs were gonna make a comeback like that esp after they'd trailed by 2... Hugo Lloris is a total hero btw

Omg this match was literally insane 😱! I mean, Fulham had it in the bag for most of the game, but Spurs just refused to give up πŸ™Œ. Romero is a total game-changer, man - his saves in the final minutes were pure gold πŸ’Ž. And that late strike from him... wow, what a finish πŸŽ‰! It's crazy how football can turn on its head like that. One minute you're winning 2-0, and the next you're down by one with five minutes to go. It's a great reminder that in this sport, anything can happen πŸ’₯. Now Spurs are back on top, but I'm sure Fulham will bounce back from this loss πŸ€”...

Ugh I'm so over how slow this forum is πŸ™„. I was trying to catch up on the latest football match highlights and it took me like 5 minutes just to load the page. And now that the match has ended, I have to sift through a ton of comments from people who don't even know what they're talking about πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Can we please get some updates on how many likes each comment gets? It's so frustrating when you write something and no one even sees it πŸ’”. And another thing, why do the comments have to be all over the place? I just want to see a simple match report with maybe a few highlights πŸ“Ή. Is that too much to ask?! 😩

OMG you guys, I'm SHOOK 😲 by that crazy comeback from Spurs! Like, who needs a halftime speech when you've got Romero on the pitch? The dude was like a superhero, saving his team from certain doom with those sick saves 🀯. And that last minute winner? Nailed it πŸ’₯. Fulham must've been wondering what hit them πŸ˜‚. Can't wait to see if Spurs can keep this momentum going... or will they revert back to their usual mid-table mediocrity 😜.

I'm loving how some teams are just giving up mid-season 🀣, like Fulham here. They were in control for most of that match but completely dropped it in the final 10-15 minutes. I think Spurs' win was more about Tottenham's bench not being able to cope with the pressure than anything else πŸ’”. Also, what's up with the refs letting Ivan Toney get away with a pretty dodgy foul? πŸ˜’

πŸ†πŸ‘ man oh man what a match! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, like what's gonna happen next? that last minute save from Lloris was insane!!! 🀯 and then Romero scores in the 90th min... i'm speechless. Spurs were down by two but they never gave up. That's what makes football so amazing, it's all about the drama & excitement! 🏈πŸ’₯ I love how both teams created so many scoring opportunities, made it hard to predict who would come out on top. And that second half, wow! Tottenham really showed their spirit & determination. Can't wait for the next match! πŸ˜„πŸ‘

omg 🀯 what a match!!! i'm still shook 😲 that spurs came back from 2-0 down, it was like watching a movie 🍿 not real life! romero is literally a superhero πŸ’₯ his saves in the final minutes were insane πŸ™Œ and son's goal just before halftime was so clutch πŸ’ͺ how can you beat that? πŸ€” anyway, i'm loving the drama and excitement of football right now it's like the sport is back to its old self πŸ†

omg what a match 🀯πŸ’₯ i was on the edge of my seat the whole time tottenhams comeback was insane, i mean who would have thought they'd turn it around like that? romero's heroics were everything and more 😍 his saves in the final minutes were pure magic. fulham just couldn't handle the pressure once spurs started to get back into the game. that second half was so intense, my heart was racing like crazy πŸ˜… i'm still buzzing from it all, what a match!

OMG, like I'm still reelin' from that match!!! 🀯 Spurs totally deserved that win after comin' back from 2-0 down! Romero is literally a superhero, savin' his team time and time again πŸ™Œ And son's goal was pure magic 😍 but what really got me was the atmosphere in the stadium. I mean, I'm not even at the game but watching it on TV felt like I was right there with the Spurs fans, all hollerin' and wavin' their scarves πŸŽ‰ It just goes to show how much football means to people's lives, you know? The highs are so high, and the lows are so low... but that's what makes it so lovin', you feel me?! πŸ˜†

omg what a game!!! 🀯 i was on the edge of my seat watching this match and espesially that last minute stop by hugo loloris was insane!! 😲 how does he even jump like that? πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ also romero's goal was pure madness!! did you see his celebration when it went in?? πŸŽ‰ i think fulham were just outplayed by spurs in the end tho, they didnt seem to be able to cope with son and pawlon's attacks πŸ€”

OMG u guys 1st half was like watching paint dry 😴 they both had chances but nothing panned out, felt like fulham was just taking it easy πŸ‘Œ. 2nd half Spurs came alive & it was a whole different story, esp that last 20 mins was electric πŸ”₯πŸ’₯! Can't believe romero scored at the end of all that drama 🀯. I love how football can turn on its head in a single moment ⏰. The comeback was insane 😲 and we'll be talking about this one for ages πŸ”œ

OMG you guys! 🀯 I was on the edge of my seat watching this match with my kiddo and we were both screaming at the screen when Spurs scored that last goal πŸ˜‚ it was like our hearts were racing too! I love how Romero came out of nowhere to save his team, what a hero πŸ™Œ but seriously what can't Tottenham do right now? πŸ˜… they're all over the Premier League in this season and I'm loving every minute of it! πŸ’₯

OMG 🀯, I'm literally shaking with excitement! That match was insane!!! I mean, Fulham took it 2-0 at one point, but Spurs just wouldn't give up πŸ’ͺ. Romero's heroics were unreal! He's like a superhero on the pitch πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ. And that final strike? 🀩 pure magic. The game had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and I love it! Football is all about drama and excitement, and this match delivered πŸ’₯. Spurs' comeback will go down in history as one of the greatest comebacks ever. Can't wait for the next match ⚽️!

man this match was insane 🀯 like you feel for fulham they were so close but spurs just didnt give up πŸ’ͺ romero made some sick saves towards the end that guy is a hero! 😎 i love how football can turn around in an instant like one bad call and then the other team is on fire πŸ”₯ this game was proof of that. tottenham's comeback was wild, even though it seemed like they were going to lose at one point 2-0 against fulham 🀯 but son and pawlon's goal changed everything πŸ’₯ anyway, gotta respect spurs for hanging in there till the end ⏰

🀯 man that final 10 mins was absolute madness lol tony romero is a hero πŸ™Œ he came off the bench and completely changed the game with those saves, i mean we're talking about a guy who made like 4 crucial stops in the last few mins to keep spurs in it. and then he scores the winner, talk about a game of two halves esp after tottenham was down by 2 goals at one point

anyway, what really got me is how fulham just gave up on that second half i mean they came out swinging like nothing happened but spurs were hungry for a win and it showed. the way spurs just started putting the pressure on fulham, making them turn the ball over and creating scoring chances...i was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

i think that's what makes football so special, it's not just about the 11 guys on the pitch, but how the entire stadium gets into it too. when spurs scored that equalizer before halftime, i'm pretty sure the whole crowd in london just erupted like a collective sigh of relief
