You know I'm gonna say something weird here ๐Ÿค”... have you guys noticed how every single year it's always the same faces winning these awards? Like, what's going on with all the new talent out there? ๐Ÿ™„ It's like they're just too scared to take a chance on someone fresh. And don't even get me started on the categories - it feels like they're just making up rules as they go along. Scripted/Limited Series/Short Form is just a fancy way of saying "we can't figure out what genre this is, so we'll just lump it all together". ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ And the winners... I mean, I'm happy for them and all, but sometimes I wonder if they're really the best of the best, or just getting picked because they've got the right connections. ๐Ÿค‘ Anyway, to each their own, right?

omg I'm so hyped for the winners!!! Kennedy Ryan's book "Can't Get Enough" won Fiction at the NAACP Image Awards ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ“š and I've been meaning to read it ASAP! Maya King's article about Black New Yorkers moving out of NYC politics is SO important we need more voices like hers speaking truth to power ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ผ And can we talk about the Black Reel Awards winners?! David Oyelowo and Regina King are goals ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘‘ Idris Elba and Rihanna killing it at the BET Awards too, I mean who didn't know they were gonna win? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ And let's not forget Mahershala Ali and Viola Davis, legends in every sense of the word ๐Ÿ’ซ๐ŸŽฌ

Man, it's like awards season is still going strong! ๐ŸŽ‰ I'm loving the diversity of winners across different platforms - we've got literary faves, talented actors, and even some gamers making waves in the digital space. Kennedy Ryan's "Can't Get Enough" taking home that Fiction award? Yaaas, give me a copy! ๐Ÿ˜ Maya King's non-fiction piece on NYC politics is giving me all the feels, like we really need more voices like hers speaking truth to power ๐Ÿ’ฌ.

It's also dope to see creatives from different backgrounds getting recognized - Rickey Laurentiis's poetry win is especially inspiring. And can we talk about how amazing it is that WURD Radio's "Exonerated" series is getting the attention it deserves? ๐Ÿ™Œ The work being done in digital content, too, with Berlin Edmonds's gaming/Tech project blowing up - it just goes to show you there are so many talented folks out here doing their thing! ๐Ÿ’ป

man I'm loving all these talented artists being recognized for their work its like the universe is giving them a big ol' hug ๐Ÿค— and I'm so down for seeing more of them on screen and in my feeds can't wait to dive into Kennedy Ryan's "Can't Get Enough" gotta keep up with Brynne Barnes' "Black Boy, Rise" too ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘€ and what's good Berlin Edmonds slaying the digital content game with @Berleezy is everything ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ’ป

I'm still trying to process the lack of diversity in these award categories ๐Ÿค”. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to see some talented individuals winning awards, but can't we see more people from underrepresented groups getting recognized? I mean, what about authors like Jesmyn Ward or Colson Whitehead who are making waves in literary circles? And as for the film and TV industry, we still have a long way to go before we see more leading roles for actors of color ๐Ÿ“š. It's all well and good that winners like David Oyelowo and Regina King are getting the recognition they deserve, but what about the next gen of talented individuals who need support? We gotta keep pushing for change ๐Ÿ’ช

omg can you even believe all these talented ppl winning their awards?! i mean david oyelowo and regina king slaying the game as usual ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘ meanwhile rihanna and idris elba serving looks in their respective categories, no cap ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ cardi b and drake killing it in that hip hop category, tbh i'm getting a little emotional just thinking about all this talent... what's even more amazing is how these ppl are using their platforms to uplift & empower marginalized communities ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’– and as for berlin edmonds, I'm low-key obsessed with @berleezy gaming content ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘€ what's not to love?

๐Ÿค” platforms r so extra ๐Ÿคฏ can't even show me all the winners without breakin into tiny little boxes... make it easier to scan or somethin ๐Ÿ‘€ anyway, congrats to all the winners ๐Ÿ˜Š esp those talented folks in the black community ๐Ÿ™Œ been a while since i saw so many awesome black ppl doin big things ๐Ÿ’ช and btw wur'd radio wins at naacp & bet awards? hows that even possible? just sayin' ๐Ÿ‘€

Wow ๐Ÿคฉ! I'm loving all the talented folks taking home awards for their amazing work ๐ŸŽ‰! Kennedy Ryan's "Can't Get Enough" is definitely on my TBR now ๐Ÿ˜. Maya King's non-fiction piece on NYC politics is so interesting, I need to read more about it ๐Ÿ’ก. And can we talk about Rickey Laurentiis's poetry? "Death of the First Idea" sounds hauntingly beautiful ๐Ÿ“š. The winners for Black Reel Awards are giving me all the feels ๐Ÿ˜Š, especially Viola Davis and Mahershala Ali... their performances must have been incredible ๐Ÿคฉ!
