Ads are coming soon to ChatGPT, starting with shopping links

🤔 I'm a bit skeptical about this whole ad thing on ChatGPT... like, I get it, they wanna make some cash, but what if the ads are just annoying? 🤦‍♂️ I mean, I use the app to learn new things and have fun conversations, not to be bombarded with ads. And what's up with the "clearly labeled" thing? That sounds like just a way to placate people who might get annoyed... 🤑 But at the same time, I can see where they're coming from. More users means more data to work with, and that could lead to some awesome new features! 🤓 Just hope it doesn't compromise our experience too much... 👀

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda cool that they’re gonna add ads to the free version of ChatGPT 🤔. I mean, it makes sense that they need to make some cash to keep the app running, right? But at the same time, I'm a bit worried about how it's gonna affect the experience for users who don’t want to see ads 💸. Like, what if someone's just trying to have a chill convo with ChatGPT and then gets hit with an ad at the bottom of the screen 📺? Hopefully they've got some good moderation in place so it doesn't get too annoying 😐. I guess only time'll tell how this whole thing plays out 👀

I'm not sure if I'm for or against this move... I mean, on one hand, it's a great way for OpenAI to make some extra cash and expand the app's reach, but at the same time, I think it could be super annoying to see ads popping up in the middle of conversations 🤦‍♀️. I guess if they do it right and keep the ads labeled and not intrusive, it might not be so bad... but what if some advertisers try to get all sneaky and influence the chatbot's answers? 😬. And don't even get me started on how some users under 18 will see ads while others don't 🤷‍♂️. I mean, shouldn't everyone be treated equally when it comes to ads? 🤑💸. Anyway, only time (and probably some trial and error) will tell if this works out or not... 🤔

I'm not sure I'm down with this idea 🤔... like, don't get me wrong, it makes sense for them to want to monetize their platform and all that, but ads can kinda ruin the vibe of just chillin' with a chatbot, you know? 😐 I mean, if they're gonna do it, make sure they're not too pushy or invasive or whatever. Don't wanna see some super annoying ad pop up in the middle of our convo mid-sentence 💁‍♀️. On the other hand, free version with ads might be a good way for new users to get hooked and then maybe upgrade to a paid plan later? 🤑 Guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out...
