AI Mode in Google search can now pull context from your other apps

Google Takes Personalized Search to the Next Level with AI-Driven Insights

In a move that could revolutionize the way users interact with search engines, Google has announced the integration of its Personal Intelligence feature into AI Mode. This experimental tool uses machine learning algorithms to pull context from other Google apps, including Gmail and Google Photos, to provide more accurate and relevant search results.

For those who opt-in to Personal Intelligence, their search history and interests will be taken into account when suggesting potential answers or recommendations. For example, if a user is browsing for clothes in AI Mode, the feature may recommend specific items from brands they have purchased from previously or suggest outfits based on past purchases made while traveling.

However, Google has warned that the feature's accuracy can be influenced by its inability to fully comprehend context or make incorrect connections between separate topics. As with any advanced AI technology, users should exercise caution when relying on personalized recommendations.

Currently, Personal Intelligence is only available in the US for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers who use English and have a personal Google account. It will not be accessible through Workspace accounts at this time. The feature is rolling out to Labs starting today, and it's unclear when or if it will expand to other regions or user groups.

While this move may raise concerns about data privacy and security, it also represents an exciting step forward for personalized search technology. As AI continues to advance, it's likely that we'll see even more innovative applications of machine learning in our daily lives – including the way we interact with search engines like Google.

🤖 "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." The idea of personalized search is a step towards making Google an even more intuitive and helpful tool for its users 💻💡

I'm so curious how this Personal Intelligence thingy is gonna change my life 🤔. I mean, having a search engine that knows what I want without me even asking it is kinda cool 😎. But at the same time, I'm also a bit worried about all those cookies being dropped on Google... like, do they really need to know where I bought last summer's shirt? 🛍️🤷‍♂️

Ugh, I'm still on my 3rd tab open and trying to read this news... 🤯 I mean, who thought it was a good idea to make Personal Intelligence so tied into your entire Google ecosystem? It's just another excuse for them to collect even more of our data 📊. I'm all for personalized search results, but can't we get that without having to sacrifice some semblance of control over our own info? And what's with the "opt-in" thingy? Are we really expected to manually agree to this level of surveillance just because Google says it's cool? 😒

I'm super stoked about this new feature 🤩, I mean, who wouldn't want Google to know exactly what you're looking for and then just magically give it to you? But, at the same time, I'm totally freaking out about all the potential data collection 📊... like, how do we even know that Google isn't just tracking everything we search for? And, honestly, is this really a good idea when they can't even get basic context right? Like, my friend tried to use it and it kept suggesting weird stuff because of some obscure movie I watched years ago 🤣... but still, it's like, the future of search or whatever, so yeah 🤷‍♀️.

Ugh, this is so gonna be a nightmare! They're just gonna start pushing their own ads down my throat based on what I've bought before 🛍️😒. Like, no thanks! I don't need some AI algorithm telling me which clothes to buy next. And what's the deal with Workspace accounts not getting in on this? It feels like Google is just trying to make more money off of people who already use their services...

just got word about google's new personal intelligence feature 🤖 and I gotta say, it sounds like a total game changer! having your search history and interests taken into account is going to make searching so much more intuitive... can already imagine how useful it'll be when i'm looking for clothes online 😂. but at the same time, I do have some concerns about data privacy - we need to make sure our info stays safe 🤝. anyone else excited about this new feature?
