Alex Cora gives ominous quote about future managing the Red Sox

Alex Cora's Time is Running Out as Red Sox Manager

Alex Cora has been the manager of the Boston Red Sox for eight seasons now, but he's starting to sound like his time in that role may be coming to an end sooner than expected. In a recent interview on the "Section 10" podcast, Cora expressed his desire to manage until he feels it's time or when his people tell him otherwise.

"It's getting harder and harder," Cora said about managing the team. "To have a chance to win, that's all I want." He's been vocal in the past about not wanting to be like Tony La Russa or Tito Francona, suggesting he has a different vision for his time as manager.

Cora's comments come at a time when the Red Sox are entering their new era under Craig Breslow, who Cora says has given him an opportunity to be part of the equation. The team had its best season in four years this year but was eliminated by the Yankees in the Wild Card Round.

At 50, Cora still has two seasons remaining on his three-year extension, which suggests he may not have much time left as manager. While it's unclear when Cora will decide to step down, his comments suggest that his family is starting to take priority over his job.

Cora's twin sons are now eight years old and seem to be enjoying the attention of being their father's manager. However, with a demanding schedule and constant scrutiny, managing a team like the Red Sox can be grueling, even for someone as experienced as Cora.

As Cora enters his eighth season at the helm, it's clear that he's not sure how much longer he can keep up this pace. With his family growing older, it may only be a matter of time before he decides to hang up his managerial headset and let someone else take the reins.

omg, Cora's like "I'm done when I'm good" 🤣, but seriously, eight years is a long time, dude! I feel him, though - being on top can be overwhelming, especially with all those eyes on you (not to mention the pressure from the fans 😅). Can't say I blame him for prioritizing his fam, those twin sons are probably like "dad's manager" and that's a tough role to balance. But hey, Cora's got experience, so I'm sure he'll figure it out... or hand over the reins to someone else who's ready for the challenge 🤝

Manager Alex Cora sounds like he's at his wit's end 🤯💔 Managing the Red Sox for 8 seasons is no joke, but with his family growing older, it might be time for him to step down 👪🏻❤️ His twin sons are getting into sports themselves, which would make things even tougher, let alone dealing with the pressure of managing a team like the Red Sox 🤯📺

I feel bad for Alex Cora, he's like a old superhero trying to save the world but getting tired 😔. Eight years is a long time, I think about my own parents at that age just wanting some chill 🙅‍♂️. His family is important and it's cool that his kids are enjoying being part of the Red Sox crew 👦🏻. But yeah, managing a team like that can be super demanding and Cora needs to prioritize his health 💪.

I dont get why people think 50 is old for managing a baseball team lol 😂 like cora's still doing just fine, but I guess his fam life is getting in the way... i mean, who wouldn't want to spend more time with their kiddos? 🤷‍♂️ but at the same time, he's still got two years left on his contract, so idk man, maybe hes just enjoying the ride and not thinking about retirement yet 🤔.

the thing about alex cora is that he's been managing for like 8 seasons now and you'd think he'd have more time left on his contract but it seems like his family life is taking priority 🤔. i mean, his twin sons are getting older and they're probably enjoying the fact that their dad is manager of the boston red sox which is a big deal for them but at the same time cora's saying he wants to keep managing till he feels it's right or when his people tell him otherwise.

i think what's interesting is that cora's not really interested in being like other managers who have been around for ages and seen all the changes in baseball. he wants to do things differently which i can respect. but at 50, you'd think he'd want to slow down a bit 🏋️‍♂️. managing the red sox is super demanding and constant scrutiny takes its toll.

i'm not sure when cora will decide to step down but it seems like his family life is becoming more important to him which is totally fair. we're all getting older and our priorities change over time 🤝.

I gotta say, Cora's comments about wanting to manage until he feels like it's time is pretty interesting 🤔. I mean, you're 50, you've been doing this job for 8 years already, but you still wanna keep on going? It sounds like his family is a bigger priority than the team right now. I don't blame him, having two little ones at home can be overwhelming. But still, as much as he wants to manage until he's ready, it seems like his body might have other plans 💪. Two more seasons left on his contract, that's gotta count for something. Maybe it's time for the Red Sox to start thinking about who's gonna take over when Cora finally decides to step down? 🤞
