Amazon Is Rolling Out Alexa+ to All Users. But Not Everyone Wants It

Amazon is pushing Alexa+ to all its Prime members, even if they didn't ask for it. The new AI-powered voice assistant promises more conversational responses, better understanding of complex requests, and a chatbot-like interface that turns onscreen conversations into text chats.

Alexa+ was first launched as an Early Access feature last year, but it's now being rolled out to everyone with a Prime membership. This means that users who didn't sign up for the Early Access list will still see Alexa+ popping up on their devices, even if they didn't request it.

The new voice assistant comes with a range of new features, including four feminine and four masculine voices, each described in the app with a single adjective like "Inviting" or "Warm." However, not everyone is happy with the new voice, which some have described as sounding like a "sassy teenager."

To switch back to the original Alexa voice, users can simply tell their device, "Alexa, exit Alexa Plus," and it will revert to the old experience. This includes stopping seeing text chats displayed onscreen.

However, users who want to switch back to the original Alexa may notice that some inflections in the voice have changed, making it sound different from the way it used to. Additionally, only Alexa+ shows ads while users are actively asking questions, whereas the original Alexa keeps its ads to a rotating slideshow and sometimes sneaks them into the weather report.

Amazon has announced that the completed version of Alexa+ will be available for all Prime members at no additional cost. However, non-Prime members will have to pay $20 per month to access the assistant.

I'm tellin' ya, this Alexa+ thing is just like one of those new-fangled gadgets everyone's been talkin' about πŸ“±... I mean, what's next? They'll be makin' me upgrade my Alexa every year or somethin' πŸ˜‚... I'm happy with the original Alexa, don't need all these bells and whistles πŸŽ‰. And what's up with the new voices, they sound like a bunch of Valley girls 🀣... Inviting and Warm? Gimme a break! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ... Can we just go back to normal, ya know? I swear, technology's movin' too fast for this ol' dude πŸ™„.

OMG, what's up with Amazon?! 🀯 They're just gonna roll out this new Alexa+ thing on every Prime member without even asking if they want it! Like, I get that AI is the future and all, but can't they let ppl opt-in or somethin? Now we got a sassy teenager voice trying to take over our lives 🀣. And don't even get me started on the ads - only Alexa+ shows 'em when you're askin' questions, while original Alexa just sneaks 'em into random things πŸ˜’. I mean, I guess it's cool that they're makin' it available for free to Prime members, but $20 a month for non-Prime folks? No thanks! 🚫

I'm so excited about the new Alexa+ 🀩! I love how it's getting more conversational and can handle complex requests. The fact that it has a chatbot-like interface is genius! 😍 But, I gotta say, I don't know if I like all the feminine voices... they sound kinda sassy? πŸ˜‰ Some of them are actually really nice tho, "Inviting" is my fave! 😊 Still, it's cool that users can switch back to the original Alexa if they want. And, yeah, not seeing ads on text chats is a big plus for me! πŸ‘ I just hope Amazon doesn't make us pay extra to keep it as our default voice... $20 a month seems like way too much πŸ’Έ

idk how i feel about this Alexa+ thing lol πŸ€” i mean on one hand it sounds cool with the new features and chatbot interface... but also kinda creepy that amazon is just forcing it on us prime members without asking πŸ€‘ if we want it, and now i'm stuck seeing all these text chats on my screen πŸ“±πŸ˜’ at least they included feminine and masculine voices tho, that's a good touch πŸ’β€β™€οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» but can't we still just have our old alexa back? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

I remember when our smart speakers were just a bunch of fancy gadgets πŸ€–... Anyway, I'm not sure about this new Alexa+ thingy. I mean, I like that it's trying to be more conversational and whatnot, but do we really need another AI-powered voice assistant in our lives? It sounds like Amazon is just trying to get us to upgrade to Prime membership, which let's be real, is a total money grab πŸ’Έ... And those voices! Sassy teenager or not, I don't think anyone asked for that level of personality πŸ˜‚. But hey, if it works for you, go for it! Just don't expect me to start using it anytime soon πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

idk about this new Alexa+ thing πŸ€”... i mean, i know some ppl are gonna love it and think its super advanced and all that, but personally, im not sure if i need another voice assistant popping up in my life πŸ™ƒ. dont get me wrong, the idea of more conversational responses sounds cool and all, but i'm just worried its gonna be too much for me to handle πŸ˜…. and what's with the different voices? four feminine and four masculine? cant they just stick with what we've got lol? and $20 a month for non-Prime members is just crazy πŸ’Έ. i mean, i get it, Alexa+ has some new features and all, but is it really worth the extra cash? πŸ€”

idk why ppl are so mad about alexa+ πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i think it's a game changer, tbh! πŸ’‘ more conversational responses and better understanding of complex requests is exactly what we need in our daily lives. plus, the chatbot-like interface is super cool 😎 and the new voices aren't that bad, some ppl might just take time to get used to them πŸ€”. i mean, if u don't wanna use it, u can always tell alexa to exit πŸ‘‹ but why not give it a try? amazon's also making it free for prime members, so it's a win-win πŸ’Έ

Ugh I'm so done with these updates πŸ™„. Can't they just let people opt-in like normal? Now we're stuck with this new Alexa+ thing and its annoying voices πŸ˜’. The fact that it's rolling out to all Prime members regardless is just lazy, you know? What if we don't want this "improved" version of Alexa?! And $20 a month for non-Prime users? Are they kidding me? πŸ€‘

I'm so done with these new voice assistants taking over our lives 🀯. I mean, can't we just stick with what we know and love? I used to use Alexa all the time when it was still a relatively new thing, back in 2018 πŸ“†. We thought it was cool that we could just talk to our smart speakers and get answers out of thin air. But now it's like they're trying to upgrade us or something.

And what's up with these new voices? I mean, I know some people might think it's cute that Alexa has different personalities, but I'm not sure I want my AI assistant sounding like a sassy teenager πŸ˜’. And don't even get me started on the ads. I remember when Alexa used to show ads in the weather report or something, and now they're just popping up in text chats? It's like Amazon is trying to nickel-and-dime us at every turn.

I'm not even going to get into the whole "Alexa+ vs original Alexa" debate, because let's be real, I'll probably just stick with what I know. But for anyone who's been following this stuff from the beginning, it's like Amazon is trying to confuse us on purpose πŸ€”.

Just heard about this Alexa+ thingy being rolled out to all Prime members πŸ€” I'm kinda torn about it tbh. On one hand, I love that they're pushing the AI game and adding more features like chatbot-like interface πŸ“±. It's already making my daily routine easier! πŸ’» But on the other hand, not everyone is a fan of the new voice πŸ˜’, and I get why - it sounds kinda sassy? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ I mean, who wants their Alexa sounding like a teenager? πŸ˜‚ Anyway, the fact that they're including more feminine voices and letting users switch back to original Alexa sounds like a win to me πŸ‘

I'm underwhelmed by Amazon's decision to roll out Alexa+ to all Prime members without their explicit consent πŸ€”. While I acknowledge that the new AI-powered voice assistant offers improved conversational responses and a chatbot-like interface, the forced upgrade feels like an overreach of consumer rights.

The introduction of four feminine and four masculine voices with unique adjectives might be seen as a bold attempt to personalize user experiences, but it's disconcerting that users who didn't request Alexa+ will still be subject to its terms. The option to switch back to the original voice is a step in the right direction, though πŸ™.

I'd like to see Amazon prioritize transparency and choice over convenience when it comes to feature rollouts. The fact that non-Prime members must pay $20 per month for Alexa+ raises concerns about pricing and accessibility πŸ“ˆ.

πŸ€” I'm not impressed with Amazon's move to force Alexa+ on all Prime members. It feels like they're nickel-and-diming people who just want a decent voice assistant without breaking the bank. The fact that non-Prime members have to shell out $20/month is just ridiculous. And what's up with the sassy teenager vibe? I mean, I know some people might enjoy it, but others will probably find it annoying. Can't they just give us the option to stick with the original Alexa if we don't want the upgrade?

I'm not sure I'm loving this new Alexa+ thing... it's like they're pushing it down our throats without asking πŸ€”! I mean, who asked for a "sassy teenager" voice? πŸ™„ But at the same time, I can see why some people would want more conversational responses and that chatbot-like interface is pretty cool 😊. It's also interesting that they've got different voices for both feminine and masculine users - that's some serious inclusivity vibes πŸ‘. And on a practical note, the fact that it shows ads only when you're asking questions is a nice touch πŸ€‘. Still not sure about the $20/month price tag for non-Prime members though... maybe just stick with the original Alexa? 😐

Ugh 🀯 I'm not a fan of this new Alexa+ thing... I know some people might be excited about the fancy new voice and chatbot feature, but for me, it's just too much change at once πŸ’‘ What if you're just sitting there having a chill conversation with Alexa and suddenly she sounds all sassy teenager-y? πŸ™„ And what's up with not being able to switch back to the original voice without some weird inflection thing? πŸ€” I'm all about ease of use, you know? Less is more sometimes πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

ugh great because we didn't already have enough personalized ads to make our lives super annoying... i mean who doesn't love a good "sassy teenager" voice trying to sell you stuff while you're just chillin' in your living room? 🀣 and now prime members get to enjoy the bonus of seeing text chats on screen, because what's an Alexa without a little extra drama, right? πŸ‘€

Omg, can you believe Amazon is pushing Alexa+ on everyone, even if they didn't ask for it? 🀯 I'm both excited and annoyed about this new AI-powered voice assistant at the same time! The more conversational responses and better understanding of complex requests sound super cool, but those feminine/masculine voices are a bit much, you know? πŸ˜‚ Like, some people are already saying they sound like sassy teens. And what's up with the ads? I mean, who thought it was a good idea to show ads while users are asking questions? πŸ“Ί It just breaks the whole experience. Still, if you're a Prime member and want more features, I guess Alexa+ is worth checking out... but $20/month for non-Primes? That's just crazy! πŸ’Έ

πŸ€” I'm not sure about this new Alexa+ thing... it sounds like Amazon's trying to make a big deal out of their voice assistants, but is it really worth it? πŸ€‘ I mean, I like the idea of having more conversational responses and whatnot, but do we really need four different feminine voices and four masculine ones? It just seems like a lot. And that "sassy teenager" voice they've got going on... lol, not sure if I'd want to hear that every time I ask Alexa for the weather πŸ˜‚. Plus, $20/month is crazy! Non-Prime members already gotta shell out enough cash just to get access to basic Amazon services. What's up with that? πŸ€‘

What's up with Amazon's new Alexa+? πŸ€” I'm not mad about it, but I do think they're being kinda sneaky by pushing it on all Prime members without asking πŸ€‘. I mean, some people might actually like the new features and voices (I guess the "Inviting" one is pretty cool πŸ˜‰), but others are just gonna be annoyed that their device gets jammed with ads and stuff when they try to use it. And don't even get me started on the prices - $20 a month for non-Primes? That's a bit steep, if you ask me πŸ’Έ. But hey, I guess we'll all have to deal with Alexa+ eventually πŸ˜….

I'm not sure I'm totally sold on Alexa+, I mean, it's still trying too hard to be like human conversations right? I get what Amazon is going for but sometimes less is more, you know? The chatbot-like interface sounds cool, but I don't want my device to feel like a social media platform πŸ€”. And, honestly, the new voices are kinda meh... not bad, but not amazing either 😐. Plus, $20 per month for non-Prime members is a bit steep, right? πŸ€‘ Can't they just make it a one-time payment or something? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
