Americans increasingly concerned about government shutdown, more blame Republicans and Trump than Democrats: Poll

The US government shutdown has sparked growing concern among Americans, with a majority saying they are worried about the situation. The poll found that nearly nine in 10 Democrats and over seven in 10 independents are concerned about the shutdown, but more Democrats say they are "very" concerned (62%) than independents (43%) or Republicans (26%).

On the other hand, 63% of Americans disapprove of President Trump's handling of the federal government, a significant increase from previous months. The majority of respondents, particularly Democrats and independents, believe that Trump and the Republicans are responsible for the shutdown.

When asked why they think either Trump and Republicans or Democrats are to blame for the shutdown, many Americans cited Trump's refusal to negotiate on healthcare premiums as a key factor. They also pointed out that the Republicans control Congress but refuse to work with Democrats on healthcare funding, which will impact millions of people.

The majority of respondents, particularly those from the Democratic side, criticized the Republican position on healthcare and accused them of wanting to take away healthcare benefits from Americans. Some Democrats even blamed their own party for not being more willing to compromise on healthcare funding.

Interestingly, independents were also critical of both parties, with many expressing frustration at the lack of cooperation between Trump and Republicans or Democrats. They cited the shutdown as an example of the government's failure to work together effectively.

The poll highlights the growing divide in public opinion over the government shutdown and President Trump's handling of it. While some Americans hold out hope for a negotiated solution, others are increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress and the negative impact on millions of people.

I'm reading this news from like 5 days ago but I just saw it pop up in my feed πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... Anyway, I think it's crazy how divided Americans are about this shutdown. Like, on one hand you've got Democrats saying Trump and Republicans are to blame, and on the other hand you've got independents just kinda frustrated with both sides not working together πŸ’”. And honestly, I don't blame them. It feels like we're at a breaking point where people's lives are being affected by politics and nobody seems willing to budge 🀯. The fact that most Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the government is wild - I mean, what were they expecting? πŸ˜‚ But seriously, can't we just have a calm and rational discussion about how to fix our healthcare system without it devolving into a shutdown crisis? πŸ™„

the shutdown is super worrying πŸ€• especially since most people think trump's team is all about politics and not really looking out for americans. i mean, it's like they're playing a game of chicken with healthcare funding and everyone's going to get hurt in the process πŸ’Έ

i think it's pretty crazy that republicans are in charge but they're still refusing to work with democrats on something as important as healthcare. it's like they're trying to take away benefits from millions of people just because they can't agree πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

at the same time, i get why dems are mad too - they feel like trump and republicans aren't taking their concerns seriously enough. but honestly, it feels like both parties are kinda at fault here πŸ‘€

the thing that bothers me most is that people are starting to lose faith in gov πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ it's like the shutdown is just another example of how hard it is to get anything done when everyone's too busy fighting with each other to work together effectively πŸ’”

omg I'm getting so anxious about this gov shutdown 🀯 it's like they're not even trying to work together anymore πŸ˜” anyway I think its super unfair that more ppl r worried about their healthcare bcs of Trumps refusal to negotiate 🚫 like whats the point of having a president if u cant get things done? πŸ’” and its not just the Dems, independents are getting frustrated too πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ they're all just fed up with the lack of cooperation πŸ‘₯ I hope ppl can put aside their differences and find a way to work together, we need that kinda unity now more than ever πŸ’•

πŸ˜” I can feel the anxiety and frustration through this news... it's like, how can we be expected to trust our leaders when they're not even trying to work together? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ It's not just about healthcare, it's about so many people who are going without basic necessities because of this shutdown. πŸ’” I'm worried about the ones who will get hurt the most - low-income families and those who rely on government programs for their daily lives. 😨 We need to find a way to put aside our differences and work towards a solution that benefits everyone, not just the party in power. 🀝 Can't we all just try to be more understanding and empathetic towards each other? πŸ’–

I feel like we're seeing this all too often - people being divided into camps, each side convinced they're in the right πŸ€”. It's easy to blame someone else or both sides for the problem, but what if it's not about who's right or wrong? What if it's about us, as individuals and a society, needing to come together and find common ground? We need to put aside our differences and work towards solutions that benefit everyone 🀝. The shutdown might be a symptom of a larger issue - our inability to have constructive conversations and listen to opposing views. It's time for us to take a step back, breathe, and try to understand where others are coming from πŸ‘‚.

πŸ€” I think its super confusing why the gov't is being so stubborn about healthcare funding 🚨. Like, isnt that what they're supposed to work together on? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ We need to find a way to compromise so we can help all these ppl who are struggling πŸ’Έ. I drew a simple diagram to show how this should work:

+---------------+
Democrats
and Reps
+---------------+

Healthcare
Funding

+---------------+

Negotiate
and Compromise

+---------------+

I wish more ppl would think outside the box like me πŸ€“. We need to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone, not just our party or ideology 🌈.

the gov shutdown is gettin crazy 🀯...i mean, cant we all just get along? πŸ™„ i feel bad 4 americans who r losin healthcare benefits cuz of this drama...and its not just democrats or republicans, independents are gettin frustrated too 😩...personally, i think trump should just negotiate on healthcare premiums and try 2 find common ground w/ dem republicans & dems...but yeah, its clear that americans r tired of all the gridlock πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ...hope they can figure somethin out soon

😬 76% of Americans are feeling stressed about the shutdown 🀯! I checked the CDC website and they reported a 14% increase in anxiety cases related to politics πŸ“ˆ. On top of that, the economic impact is being felt with a 5% decrease in consumer spending since the shutdown started πŸ“Š. And did you know, the average person's credit card debt has increased by 10% due to delayed tax refunds? πŸ€‘ Not exactly what we'd call a silver lining 🌞. Anyway, I've got some fun stats to share: according to Gallup, 60% of Republicans are worried about the shutdown (compared to 55% of Democrats), while 58% of independents are "very" concerned 😬. Guess that's why they say "all politics is local"... and everyone's feeling the squeeze 🀯!

I'm getting so tired of politicians being super petty about healthcare 🀯. I mean, come on, can't they just work together for once? The shutdown is affecting so many people's lives and yet it feels like no one's taking responsibility for their actions. As an indie voter, I'm sick of being caught in the middle between two parties that can't seem to put aside their differences. And let's be real, Trump's handling of this whole thing has been a disaster πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. The fact that more people are "very" concerned about the shutdown than someones' basic human needs is just staggering. Can't we just have a functioning government for once? πŸ™„

Ugh I'm so worried about what's going on in the US πŸ€―πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ this government shutdown is having such a huge impact on so many people's lives... it's like, can't we all just work together for once? πŸ™„ my heart goes out to those who are struggling with healthcare and not knowing how they're gonna pay their bills πŸ’Έ I feel like the politicians are more worried about being in power than helping the people they're supposed to be serving πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ it's so frustrating! 🀯

Man I'm feeling really nostalgic for when we used to have some semblance of bipartisan cooperation πŸ€•πŸ˜” The way they're all bickering now is just so... 2018 πŸ˜‚. Seriously though, it's like, we've been through this before and we should know better by now. And it's not just the shutdown, it's the whole toxic atmosphere that comes with Trump's presidency 🀒. I mean, I get it, healthcare is a huge issue and all, but can't they just put aside their differences for once? It's like they're trying to make this shutdown thing out of thin air πŸ’¨. And don't even get me started on the independents, man... they're caught in the middle 🀯. I guess it just goes to show that politics is a game and sometimes you gotta take a step back and just try to understand where everyone's coming from πŸ‘₯πŸ’¬.

πŸ€” This whole US gov shutdown is super worrying 🚨 and I'm not surprised to see most ppl worried about it 😟. It's crazy that 9 out of 10 Dems are more concerned than Reps, but at the same time, a lot of ppl (63%) are straight up dissing Trump's handling of it πŸ‘Ž. What's even crazier is that most ppl think either party is to blame πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, and they're all pointing fingers at each other πŸ’”.

The whole healthcare thing is just messy 🀯, especially with the fact that Reps are refusing to work with Dems on funding 🚫. It's like, how can you expect ppl to vote for u when u're not willing to compromise? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And now ppl are feeling the pinch πŸ€‘, and it's just not fair πŸ’”.

I think what's most annoying is that independents are getting left in the middle 🀯. They're all like "why can't these ppl just work together?" πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, and I'm like "same lol" πŸ˜‚. It's just a total mess, and I hope someone figures it out ASAP πŸ’‘.

I'm getting really frustrated with this whole shutdown thing! 🀯 It's like, come on guys, can't you all just get along? 63% of Americans disapproving of Trump's handling is just crazy, and I totally get why - the guy's been saying some pretty out-there stuff. But at the same time, I'm worried about those people who are going to lose their healthcare benefits because of this shutdown. It's like, what's the point of even having a government if we can't work together? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ The fact that independents are getting so fed up with both parties is just sad - they're the ones who usually try to stay neutral and figure out a middle ground.

omg I'm like so worried about this shutdown 🀯 I mean, who thought it was a good idea to let the government shut down? Like, what's gonna happen to ppl who rely on gov services?? πŸ™ˆ and don't even get me started on Trump πŸ€‘ he's just makin' things worse with his refusal to negotiate on healthcare premiums. I'm like totally with the majority of americans who think he & republicans are responsible for this mess πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ and can we pls talk about how republicans control congress but still refuse to work w/ democrats on healthcare funding? it's just so frustrating πŸ’”

πŸ€”shutdowns like this make me wonder why we need so much stuff... like Congress. It feels like more power is being wielded behind closed doors than in public. πŸ’Ό People seem to care more about healthcare, but it's not just about the money – it's about feeling safe and secure. 🌎 A shutdown affects everyone, regardless of party lines. We need leaders who can put country over politics. πŸ‘₯

πŸ˜• I'm so worried about this government shutdown 🀯... like what is going on? A majority of people in the US are super concerned about it, but it's crazy how the parties are at each other's throats πŸš«πŸ’” Trump and Republicans blaming Democrats, and vice versa πŸ”„... and what really gets me is that healthcare premiums are a major factor here πŸ’ΈπŸ₯. I mean, can't they just talk to each other? πŸ˜’ How does it affect millions of people? It feels like the system is totally broken πŸ”§πŸ˜©... some people even think Democrats aren't doing enough to compromise πŸ€πŸ’¬... but honestly, who knows what's going on behind the scenes 🀐. Can someone explain this to me? πŸ€”

πŸ€” The US government shutdown is super concerning for most Americans 🚨. I think the main issue here is that Trump's team won't negotiate on healthcare premiums πŸ’Έ, which is a huge problem because millions of ppl rely on it πŸ€•. It's also crazy that Republicans control Congress but won't work with Democrats to fund healthcare πŸ“Š. Meanwhile, independents are just like "seriously, can't u guys just get along?" 😩. I'm not surprised though, I've seen a lot of divide in politics lately πŸ”ͺ. Some ppl hold out hope for a solution, while others are getting really frustrated 😀. It's a shame because this shutdown is affecting so many people 🌎.

Ugh I'm so worried about this 🀯! The more I see about this gov't shutdown, the more I think we're losing sight of what's truly important - helping those in need πŸ’•. All these back & forths between parties just seems like they don't care about us, you know? And it's not like there's a good solution coming out of any of this... 63% of people disapproving of the Prez is crazy 😱! I'm with the Dem side on healthcare, it's basic human rights πŸ™. And why won't they work together?! It's like they're all just trying to prove who's right or wrong instead of actually finding a way forward πŸ”. It's super frustrating when people say we should just sit back and wait for someone else to solve our problems... no way, we gotta make our voices heard! πŸ—£οΈ We need to demand better from our leaders πŸ’ͺ.
