Andreas Skov Olsen signs for Rangers on loan - but can he rediscover swagger?

Rangers have added a new face to their ranks, with Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen signing on loan from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. The 26-year-old's arrival was seen as a coup when he joined Wolfsburg last January, but his time at the German side was marked by inconsistency.

Olsen's move to Ibrox comes after a spell at Club Brugge, where he excelled and scored 49 goals and provided 30 assists in 124 games. He has also appeared for Denmark at international level, earning 40 caps.

However, Olsen struggled in his first season with Wolfsburg, playing in a more defensive role than suited him and failing to find form after a coaching change. His move to Germany was seen as an attempt to revive his career, but he ultimately found himself training with the youth team while the senior squad played a friendly match against a B team.

Now at Rangers, Olsen is looking to rediscover his swagger and get back on track. The standard of the Scottish Premiership may be more suited to his game, according to some pundits. Denmark's Toke Moller Theilade believes that Olsen was best in clubs slightly below the big leagues, and he will do well at Rangers.

Olsen has been praised for his technical ability, speed, and versatility on the pitch. He is a strong finisher who can take on opponents one-on-one and provide dangerous crosses. With his career still far from over, Olsen has plenty of opportunities to excel in Scotland and prove himself as a top-class player.

But will he be able to recapture his form at Wolfsburg? Can the standard of the Scottish Premiership help him regain his confidence and swagger? Only time will tell for this talented Danish winger.

I think about what makes us human, you know? We all have moments where we're on top, and then suddenly we're off track. Andreas Skov Olsen's story is like that, but it's also a reminder that every great player has ups and downs. What I find really interesting is how he sees this move to Rangers as a chance to rediscover himself. For me, it's about finding that spark again, that fire in our belly that drives us to be the best version of ourselves.

The thing is, it's not just about the level of competition; it's about the love for the game and the passion we bring to it every time we step onto the pitch. I hope Olsen finds that again at Rangers and proves himself as a top-class player. 🤔

idk what's wrong with Olsen, i mean i know everyone gets off to a bad spell but 2 years in wolfsburg and he's still struggling 😒. danish leagues r not exactly the toughest competition 🤷‍♂️. now he's going to scottish premiership where the pace is even slower lol. imo, he needs to figure out what type of game he wants to play and stick to it, can't just be a 'versatile' player all the time 💪

just saw this news about andreas skov Olsen joining rangers on loan i think its a great move for him personally, he's been through a tough spell at wolfsburg but it sounds like he's found a new lease on life with club brugge now he gets to play in scotland where the game is more suited to his style of play might be able to get back to scoring goals and providing assists 🤞

I'm curious, does the idea of hitting rock bottom have any real value? Like Olsen's struggles at Wolfsburg might've been a wake-up call to re-evaluate his game. Sometimes, it takes a step back to find our footing again. The Scottish Premiership could be just what he needs – a fresh start with less pressure and more room to breathe. It's not always easy to admit when we're off track, but being honest about our weaknesses is the first step towards getting back on track 💡

🤔 I'm loving this move by Rangers, got my fingers crossed that Olsen can finally find consistency and get back to his old self ⚽💨 He's always been a super talented player, but it seems like he's had some ups and downs in his career so far 😐. Maybe the change of scenery and being part of the more attacking Rangers style will do him some good 💥. Toke Moller Theilade saying he was better off in smaller clubs is really interesting, I think that's a fair point 🤓. Can't wait to see Olsen on the pitch, if he can just find his form then we might be looking at something special 🔮!
