Arsenal 2-3 Manchester United: Mikel Arteta post-match reaction

Mikel Arteta has admitted that Arsenal were "not at their best" in their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United, but he believes it is unrealistic for his team to win every game.

The Emirates Stadium was the venue where this Premier League match took place on Sunday evening, and it was clear from the start that things wouldn't go according to plan for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's men. The home side struggled to contain Manchester United's attacking prowess and found themselves trailing 3-0 by halftime.

However, in a thrilling second half, Arsenal scored two goals without reply to narrow the gap to just one goal. This late surge hinted that there was still hope for the team, but ultimately it wasn't enough as Manchester United sealed their fourth consecutive victory over Arteta's men.

When asked about the defeat after the match, Arteta acknowledged his side's shortcomings. "We weren't at our best today," he said. "But we can't expect to win every single game, that's just not possible." Arteta also praised his team for their spirit and resilience in the face of adversity, but ultimately was left to rue a missed opportunity.

With the loss, Manchester United move up to fourth place in the Premier League table, while Arsenal fall further behind. The defeat will be a setback for Arteta and his team, who are now facing an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League.

man that arteta was right about not expecting to win every game... i mean its a big ask but u gotta believe in ur team's abilities still hope they can turn it around tho 🤔💪

I feel bad for Mikel Arteta 🤕, he's doing his best with this squad and the pressure is mounting. 4-0 down at halftime was a tough hill to climb, but you gotta give credit to those last two goals from Arsenal, they were some proper strikes! 🙌 Still, it's clear that we need to see some improvement in defense if we wanna stay competitive, can't keep shipping 3 goals like that 💔. Can't put all the blame on Arteta either, the team was clearly underwhelming at times. I'm still hopeful for us though, we just need to stick together and grind out some wins 🏃‍♂️💪.

I don’t usually comment but... I think it’s pretty tough on Mikel Arteta, you know? He’s already got a lot of pressure on him with his team not performing as well as they should be. And yeah, you can’t expect to win every game, that’s just the way it is in football. But at the same time, I don’t think he was being entirely realistic when he said that... 3-2 defeat to Man Utd isn't exactly a cakewalk. Still, gotta give him credit for his team's spirit and all that. 🤔😐

I'm not surprised about that result 🤔🏆. I mean, Manchester United have been on fire lately, and it's hard to stop them when they're clicking like that 🔥. But at the same time, I do think Arsenal should be a bit more solid defensively - 3-0 down by halftime is not something you can just turn around in one half 🙅‍♂️. Still, credit to Arteta for staying calm and trying to get his team back into it 💪. The fact that they scored two goals without reply shows they've got some fight left in them, so I'm keeping hope alive for now ⚔️. Can't see Arsenal getting out of this one just yet though... 😐

art this is getting real, man... 4 losses in a row is not something you can just shrug off... we need to see some serious changes from the squad, maybe it's time for some new blood? Arteta's got to be honest with himself and the fans, we're not getting the results we deserve.

man i feel like arteta's comments r pretty fair considering how bad we were on sunday 🤔. yeah, you cant expect to win every game, thats just not realistic for any team atm. the thing is, arsenal had some really promising moments in that second half, but then just kinda fizzled out again... anyway, i think arteta's been doing a good job overall, even if we dont have the best record lately 💪

I mean I feel bad for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, they just got smashed by Manchester United 🤕. But you know what's crazy? This late comeback attempt was still super inspiring! Those two goals in the second half were like a spark of hope 💡, even though it wasn't enough to change the game. It shows that the team can fight back when things aren't going their way, and that gives me faith in them 🙌. Maybe this is just a bump in the road for Arsenal? They've got some tough games ahead but they're still fighting 💪

lol what's wrong with arteta's team? they can't even play their best one game in 3 consecutive matches is crazy! 🤯 i think people r overreacting here, like yeah they lost but they scored 2 goals back, that shows they got some quality players on the pitch. mikel arteta's right no need to win every game, it's all about building momentum and confidence. and btw, 3-0 down at half time is not impossible to come back from, ask any other team in the league 🤷‍♂️
