As Santa Clara County’s Measure A looks like it will prevail, county officials are still bracing for health care cuts

ugh this is so stressful for people in santa clara county 🤕 they're already dealing with huge federal cuts to medicaid and now they gotta pay more sales tax too? it's like, the government can't even balance its own books 🤑 but seriously tho, how are county officials gonna make sure that all these funds get used for healthcare? it's a good thing that measure a passed tho, at least something's being done 💪

🤔 I'm not sure if increasing the local sales tax rate by 0.625% is a good idea... I mean, it's going to cost people more when they go shopping or buying things online. And I don't really get why we need to do this in the first place - shouldn't the federal government be helping out with Medicaid funding? 🤷‍♂️ It seems like we're just patching up the problem instead of finding a real solution. And what if it doesn't even work as planned? We'll end up hurting people who are already struggling financially. 😕

I'm a bit concerned about Measure A. Don't get me wrong, $1 billion is a huge loss for Medicaid, but I think we should be careful not to overcompensate 🤔. The tax increase might seem like a good idea, but it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Some folks in different parts of the county are already feeling the pinch from higher taxes, and that's just not fair 🤑. What if this doesn't actually solve anything for those who need it most? We gotta think about how we're gonna make sure these funds aren't just masking deeper problems 💸. And what's with all these "cost-saving measures"? Sounds like a fancy way of saying we're gonna cut corners and hurt people 🚫.
