At least three dead and 11 injured after UPS plane crashes near a Kentucky airport

A devastating plane crash has left at least three people dead and 11 injured after a UPS McDonnell Douglas MD-11 took off from Louisville International Airport in Kentucky. The aircraft, bound for Honolulu, crashed around 5:15 pm local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to reports, the plane had three crew members on board, but unfortunately, their identities have not been disclosed yet. Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that at least three fatalities have occurred, although he expects the number of deaths to rise as emergency responders sift through the wreckage.

The accident also resulted in 11 injuries, and an investigation is currently underway by the National Transportation Safety Board. The governor described the situation as "serious" and stated that the authorities are doing everything possible to help those affected.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a huge plume of smoke emanating from the crash site near two businesses - a recycling center and an auto parts shop. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) urged people to stay away from the area, citing an "active scene with fire and debris." A shelter-in-place order was issued for locations within 5 miles of the airport, which has been extended to cover much of the city.

Governor Beshear stated that emergency responders are working tirelessly to rescue those trapped in the wreckage. The governor is currently heading to Louisville to oversee the response efforts. As the situation unfolds, authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash and provide support to the affected individuals and their families.

OMG, just heard about this plane crash in Kentucky 🚨😱 can you even imagine being on that flight?! 11 people injured is crazy! The fact that it was a UPS plane is wild too, I never thought of that as a 'danger zone' πŸ˜‚. The governor's words about the situation being "serious" is spot on, no need to sugarcoat it when lives are lost and people are hurt πŸ’”. Hopefully, the authorities can figure out what went wrong ASAP so we don't have more delays in justice πŸ•°οΈ.

You know what really gets me? The whole airport is shut down now... what about all those flights that were meant to take off or land?! It's chaos 😩. Anyway, I'm sure the emergency responders are doing their best to help those trapped and rescue the injured. Sending positive vibes for everyone affected πŸ™πŸ’•.

πŸ˜” my heart goes out to the families of the victims and the 11 injured people 😷 this is such a terrible tragedy... how could something like this happen? 🀯 the thought of those crew members on board, never getting to fulfill their duties or see their loved ones again, is just devastating πŸ’” i hope the investigation will get to the bottom of what caused this crash and that everyone involved will receive the support they need πŸ’•

🚨πŸ’₯ Just saw this news and I'm still trying to process it... 1 dead, 11 injured? That's like, what, 2% fatality rate or something? 😱 Anyway, looking at the stats... average plane travel speed is around 850 km/h, but this MD-11 was flying at a relatively slow pace of 800 km/h. Fuel efficiency not looking so good for UPS 🚫😐

Anyway, National Transportation Safety Board is on the case and will likely uncover some interesting findings. Have to admit, I'm kinda curious about the circumstances leading up to the crash... did they experience any issues during takeoff or was it a sudden event? πŸ€” Will be keeping an eye on this development! πŸ‘€

Ugh, can't believe how slow this investigation is gonna be πŸ•°οΈπŸ˜©. Like, I get it, accidents are serious business, but come on! At least three people dead and 11 injured? That's already a tragedy. And now they're saying the cause of the crash might not be known for days? Days?! Can't they just get to the bottom of this already? 🀯 It's like the NTSB is trying to make it as complicated as possible...and the governor's all "stay away from the area" but what about the people who need help right now? Like, can't we just have a real-time update or something?! πŸ’»

[Image of a plane with a big red X over it 🚫😱] Plane crashes are like the ultimate meme fail πŸ˜‚. Who needs a delivery guy when you can just have a fatal flight? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ [GIF of a UPS truck driving into a crash zone, with a " Ka-BOOM!" explosion in the background πŸ’₯]

OMG you guys cant believe what just happened at Louisville airport 🀯😱 a plane crashed literally in front of businesses near where recycling centers r like who gets hurt by that kinda thing?? 3 ppl dead and 11 injured its just so sad πŸŒΉπŸ’” i mean idk what was goin on with the pilots or whatever but this is just terrible news πŸ˜“πŸš¨ and now theres a shelter-in-place order for the whole city cuz of all the smoke and fire 🌫️πŸ”₯ i feel bad for everyone affected by this especially the families of those who died πŸ’”πŸ˜

this plane crash is a total disaster 😱 and it's so weird that they didn't have any surveillance footage from nearby cameras to help with the investigation πŸ€” i mean who actually uses drones for airport security anymore? anyway, 11 injured is pretty bad but at least the crew members were just in transit not like if they were flying out to some emergency or something 🚫 gotta wonder what kind of maintenance was done on that plane before it took off tho...
