Bears Tackle Ozzy Trapilo, Linebacker T.J. Edwards Out for Postseason After Injuries in Packers Game.
Chicago Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards broke his left leg and tackle Ozzy Trapilo injured his patellar tendon during Saturday's playoff win over the Packers.
Coach Ben Johnson stated that it is probable both players will be out for the rest of the season, describing their situations as "not good". The incident transpired in the second quarter when Edwards seemed to get hurt on a non-contact play, prompting him to be carted off with his leg heavily bandaged. At the same time, Trapilo hobbled to the sidelines after suffering an injury to his knee during the last few minutes of play as the Bears drove towards scoring.
Trapilo is considered a rookie and worked his way into the starting lineup in the middle of the season before being replaced by Theo Benedet, who now may be replaced. Meanwhile, tackle Braxton Jones, who was initially their starter from 2022 through '24 but then lost out on playing time to Benedet, can now potentially make a comeback as he is coming off injured reserve ahead of the Bears' divisional round match against either Eagles or Rams.
Edwards has long been regarded by his peers and coaches as an invaluable asset for the team, earning him a contract extension through 2027 in recent months. Despite being one of the Bears' best defenders over the past few seasons, he now faces potentially missing out on this postseason run due to injury.

T.J. Edwards is literally a key player for the Bears and now he's gonna miss the rest of the season with that broken leg... it's just so frustrating! 
And Ozzy Trapilo too, his rookie year was going alright until he got injured. You can't help but feel bad for him

. You gotta feel bad for him, especially since he's one of the best defenders on the team. It's crazy how quickly things can change on the field - one wrong move and you're out with a broken leg or a patellar tendon 
. The Bears are gonna have to scramble to replace him and figure out their game plan now... hope they can make some adjustments without Edwards 
. Braxton Jones might get a shot at starting again, but he'll never be the same as T.J. at that position
