the thing that really bothers me is how some of these boxers just kinda... forget about the long-term effects of all those blows to the head. I mean, you'll see them doing interviews months or years after a big fight and they're still like "I'm fine, no issues" but then you look at their faces and it's clear something's off.

I mean, Amy Lavelle's story is heartbreaking and it's a reminder that these kinds of injuries can have devastating consequences for people and their loved ones.
it's crazy that some boxers can just keep on fighting while they're already dealing with mental health issues or whatnot... maybe we need to rethink the whole "you're tough, you can handle it" mindset that surrounds sports.

... I think it's super unfair that these athletes have to go through all this because of a sport they love. And yeah, the whole wealth thing is a bit messed up too... like, is all that money really worth risking your brain for?

I wish more people were talking about this stuff and pushing for better safety measures in sports... it's just not right

Like, yeah we get it, winning a championship is cool, but at what cost?

i think its time for sports orgs to step up and educate athletes about head injuries before they start competing - its not just about winning or fame, its about their overall well-being

. I mean, my old mate got knocked out by a rugby player when we were at school and he just shook it off, but now I know about all these concussions and whatnot
