Beethoven & Brahms: Violin Concertos album review – as supple and coherent as ever as the ACO celebrates 50

I'm so stoked they're releasing a new album from the ACO! I mean, 50 years is crazy and Richard Tognetti is like the king of his violin game, been leading the orchestra for 35 yrs and he's still killing it 🤩🎶. I love how they recorded in City Recital Hall, that place sounds amazing and you can really hear the instruments blending together. The Beethoven concerto is so epic, Tognetti's got this energy that just takes over, and those cadenzas are insane 🔥! And Brahms isn't bad either, I like how they highlighted the woodwind solos, it adds a nice touch of warmth to the music ❤️. Overall, this album is gonna be a banger, can't wait to listen to it on repeat 🎵💪

I'm getting a major flashback to 2005 when I first stumbled upon the ACO at one of their outdoor concerts in the Sydney Botanic Gardens 🌳🎶. Richard Tognetti was this young, fiery conductor and I knew right then he'd be special. Fast forward 35 years, and here's his magnum opus - a Beethoven & Brahms double album that still gives me goosebumps 🤩. The way he balances old-school technique with modern flair is pure genius. And let's not forget those woodwind solos in the Brahms concerto - chills every time 🌊. I'm glad I got to experience this through their 50th birthday celebrations, but if you missed it, grab a copy of this album ASAP! 🎧👍

😊 This 50th birthday album from the ACO is bloody amazing! I mean, you can hear the passion and love that Richard Tognetti puts into these recordings. His approach to Beethoven's concerto is so exciting, especially in the first movement – it's like he's trying to get that energy out of his system! 🤩 And the way he balances tradition with modernity is spot on for this orchestra. I've been following them for ages and they're still pushing the boundaries. The guest instrumentalists add a nice touch too, makes it feel like a big celebration. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the album when it drops! 👍
