Blast from confiscated explosives at police station in Indian-controlled Kashmir kills nine

Nine lives lost in Kashmir police station blast as explosives detonate.

A devastating blast ripped through a police station in Indian-controlled Kashmir late on Friday, claiming nine lives and leaving 32 injured. The explosion occurred while a team of forensic experts and police were examining seized explosives in the Nowgam area of Srinagar, the region's main city. Police Director General Nalin Prabhat attributed the incident to an "accidental explosion," rather than foul play.

The majority of those killed were police officers and forensic officials, while some injured victims were in critical condition. The blast set the police station ablaze and charred multiple vehicles, with local media reporting that subsequent explosions hindered immediate rescue efforts.

This latest tragedy comes on the heels of a deadly car bombing in New Delhi just days ago, which claimed at least eight lives near the historic Red Fort. Indian authorities described it as a "heinous terror incident" carried out by anti-national forces.

In the hours preceding the blast, police had dismantled a suspected militant cell operating from Kashmir, arresting seven individuals – including two doctors from Indian cities – and seizing a large quantity of bomb-making materials in Faridabad. Following this, security agencies have conducted numerous raids across Kashmir as part of their investigation into the car bombing, questioning hundreds and detaining dozens.

The seized explosives were brought to Kashmir for investigation purposes, supposedly kept in an open area at the police station where the suspected militant cell was dismantled last month. A team of forensic experts was taking samples when the blast occurred, labeling it an "unfortunate accident."

Ugh πŸ€• this is just so senseless 😩 another innocent life lost and 32 people hurt πŸ€• I don't get why these things have to happen in public places where everyone's supposed to be safe πŸ’” can't they just take the explosives somewhere secure for once? 🚫 it's not like it's going to make a difference if they're kept in a fancy lab or whatever, but at least that way they wouldn't be risking people's lives every time they go to work or school... and what about the forensic team? they were just trying to do their job and now they're dead πŸ’€πŸ˜’ this is just heartbreaking 😭

Ugh 😱 can't believe this happened again πŸ€• just days after that car bombing in New Delhi... so many innocent lives lost πŸ™ it's just not right. I'm really worried about those forensic experts and police officers who were just doing their job πŸ’” they didn't deserve to die like that. And now the whole police station is a mess, people are still trying to find anyone who might have been hurt πŸ˜“ how long will this investigation take? I hope whoever is behind these attacks gets brought to justice, but at what cost πŸ€• my heart just isn't in it right now πŸ’”

πŸ€• this is so sad my heart goes out to the families of those who lost their lives πŸ’”. i wonder if they were doing anything wrong at the police station that led to the explosion πŸ€”. and what's with all these security incidents in india lately? 🚨 it's like something needs to be done about it, but how do you catch people who are planning to blow up things without hurting innocent people? πŸ’₯

i wish we could figure out why this keeps happening and find a way to stop it πŸ”“. is it just terrorism or are there other forces at play? πŸ€”

This is just getting outta control 🀯 I mean what's next?! First car bombing in Delhi, now this explosion in Kashmir... seems like no end to this chaos. Like 9 lives lost and multiple vehicles destroyed? How many more innocent people have to lose their loved ones? It's all so senseless πŸ’” And that security agency is still on high alert, questioning hundreds and detaining dozens of ppl... how much more stress can these victims and their families handle?! It's like they're just trying to keep one step ahead of the militants, but what if it's just a never-ending cycle?! 😩 I don't know man, this is all so overwhelming. What's being done to prevent such incidents from happening in the first place?!

πŸ€” this is getting out of hand... how can they say it's just an accident when there are bombs everywhere and then suddenly BAM! 9 lives lost and no one knows who did it? 🚨 sounds like a setup to me. i need to see some actual evidence or at least some decent investigation going on here. where were the security cameras? why was the explosives area left open in the first place? 🀯 and what about those doctors who got arrested along with the rest of the suspects? do we really know they're innocent? πŸ™„

πŸ€” This explosion thingy is really suspicious. I mean, who just leaves explosives lying around in a police station? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It's like they were waiting for something to go boom. And what's with the forensic experts being there at the same time? Sounds like a setup to me. Where are all these "accidental explosion" explanations coming from?

I'm not buying it. We need some concrete evidence, like video footage or eyewitness accounts, before we can even begin to understand what happened. The government's quick attribution of an "accident" to the police station blast doesn't sit right with me. There's gotta be more to this story than meets the eye.

And let's not forget about that car bombing in New Delhi just a few days ago. Could these be related? We need some serious investigation here, not just PR spin from the authorities. Where are the sources for all this? πŸ“°

man this is so sad what kinda situation do u think led to dis explosion?? it seems like they were investigating some suspects and then BAM, all this chaos. hopefully the authorities can figure out whodis behind it all & catch the bad guys πŸ’”πŸ˜±
