California's gerrymandering measure would move the nation backwards | David Daley

I'm totally divided about this whole thing 🤔🗳️ - on one hand, I think it's crazy that politicians are trying to manipulate the system like this, especially when you consider how gerrymandering has plagued elections in the past 😩. But at the same time, I get why Dems want to take control of redistricting - it's about creating more competitive seats and giving voters a voice 🗣️.

The problem is that they're doing it in a way that could lead to the opposite effect - a bunch of politicians making decisions for themselves rather than for the people 🤝. I mean, if this happens, you might as well just forget about fair representation altogether 😔. It's a tough one, but I think we need more transparency and accountability when it comes to redistricting #NotMyMap #GerrymanderingSucks 🚫💸

🤔 thinkin that proposition 50 is a bad idea 🚫 california voters should focus on gettin more people registered to vote instead of tryin to manipulate the system with gerrymandering 🔒 it's like they're forgettin all about the lessons learned from the past 🙄 they just wanna play politics as usual 🤥

OMG 🤯 this is soooo not good! I mean, can you imagine a future where politicians get to decide who sits in Congress? It's like they're going to draw a big ol' circle around themselves and say "you're out" 😂 just kidding, but seriously it sounds super sketchy. I'm all for fairness and representation, but this feels like they're just trying to control the game 🤔. What if they use their power to gerrymander even more? It's like a bad game of musical chairs, except instead of chairs, it's people's lives 🎵. We need to keep an eye on this and make sure our democracy stays fair and open for everyone 💕.

I'm super worried about this CA thingy 🤯. Like, don't get me wrong, it's all well and good that they wanna fix gerrymandering, but granting control over mapmaking to the same ppl who created the problem in the first place? 🙅‍♂️ That just feels like more of the same old partisan politics. What if this is just a clever way for Democrats to rig the system and end up with less choice and representation for everyone else? 🤔 It's like, I get it, Texas might be getting some extra seats, but at what cost? We need to think about the bigger picture here, not just the perceived advantage. National standards should really come into play here, you know? 🙌
