Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim, Chappell Roan Among Honorees for 2026 Resonator Awards

Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim, and Chappell Roan are among the honorees of the 2026 Resonator Awards, a music industry event honoring impactful female music makers presented by We Are Moving the Needle.

The awards ceremony will take place on January 27 at Los Angeles' Chaplin Studios, featuring performances from FLO, Thundercat, and Hayley Williams. The Queen of Funk Chaka Khan will be toasted with a tribute of her greatest hits performed by special guests including Grace Bowers, Hayley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, Maggie Rogers, and more.

The Resonator Awards aim to strengthen the music industry so creators can thrive on their own terms. According to the 2025 Annenberg Report, only 5.9% of producers on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart are female. The organization was founded in 2021 by Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar as a response to severe underrepresentation by women in creative fields related to music.

The honorees of the Resonator Awards include St. Vincent, Haim, and Chappell Roan, among other notable women working behind the scenes in production, engineering, and songwriting. The event also features an auction with exclusive items from artists such as boygenius, Haim, Remi Wolf, Weezer, Nancy Whang, and more.

We Are Moving the Needle's mission is to build an industry that lives up to its values by honoring remarkable artistry and shared commitment to creating a thriving music industry. Chaka Khan expressed her support for the organization, stating "Empowered women empower women. I am honored to be part of a movement that celebrates the creativity, resilience, and determination of women creators everywhere."

The full list of honorees includes Luminary Award winner Chaka Khan, Golden Trifecta Award winner St. Vincent, Disruptors Award recipient HAIM, Harmonizer Award winner Chappell Roan, Powerhouse Award winner Gena Johnson, Exceptional Ears Awards for Bella Blasko and Jayda Love, Calliope Award winner Amy Allen, All-Star Award winner Alissia, In Stereo Award recipients Elvira AnderfjΓ€rd and Luka Kloser, Breakthrough Award recipient Roselilah, Equalizer Award winner Betty Bennett, Transformer Award winner Roger Davies, and Resonator Hall of Fame Inductees including Allee Willis, Elaine Martone, Jaime Sickora, Judith Sherman, Mary Mazurek, Michelle Sabolchick, and SOPHIE.

omg u guys gotta know that Chaka Khan is literally the queen of funk πŸ‘πŸŽΈ she's been slaying in this industry for decades & it's awesome to see her getting the Resonator Award πŸ’– but like let's get real the stats are still pretty wild - only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female 😱 that's just not okay πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ we need more women in music production & engineering, stat! πŸš€

omg can't believe it's only 5.9% of producers on the billboard hot 100 chart are female lol what a small step forward πŸ™ƒ still gotta push for more diversity in the music industry πŸ’– chaka khan is literally the queen of funk and i'm so down to celebrate her with these other talented ladies πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈ st vincent's synth game is everything but why did they have to choose 2026 awards ceremony already btw πŸ€”

πŸŽ‰ Can we talk about the fact that only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female? Like, what's going on with the music industry and its lack of representation πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ? It's not like these women aren't talented or capable - it's just a matter of being seen and valued in a field where they're underrepresented. And now there's an award to recognize them? Awesome! But also, let's be real, it's about time someone did something about this disparity πŸ’β€β™€οΈπŸŽΆ

Chaka Khan is a total legend, no doubt about it 🀩. But can we talk for a second about how weird it is that the Resonator Awards are still trying to change the game 5 years in? Like, isn't it already pretty much established that women make up like 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart? It feels like they're just scratching the surface here πŸ€”. And what's up with all these awards and accolades? Is this just a way to stroke the egos of these talented ladies or is it actually making a tangible difference in the music industry? Maybe we should be asking ourselves if it's time for some real change, not just token gestures πŸŽ‰

πŸ€” Chaka Khan is totally deserving of the Queen of Funk title 🎸! But I gotta wonder, what's the deal with only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart being female? That's still kinda low if you ask me. They're trying to change the game and empower women in music, but we need more than just an award ceremony to make a dent in that stat πŸ“Š.

Also, I'm so down for some girl power with St. Vincent and Haim getting recognized for their awesomeness 😎! But let's be real, there are still so many talented female musicians and producers out there who aren't getting the recognition they deserve πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

The auction is gonna be lit though πŸ’Έ! I'm totes excited to see what exclusive items go up for grabs. And Chaka Khan's speech about empowered women empowering women is so true πŸ’–! Let's keep pushing for change and celebrate these incredible artists who are making a difference in the music industry 🎢πŸ’ͺ

πŸŽ‰ It's gonna be a great night at the Resonator Awards! I'm so hyped to see all these talented women in music being recognized for their hard work. Chaka Khan is literally the Queen of Funk and it's awesome that they're honoring her with a tribute πŸ™Œ. The fact that only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female is crazy, but at least there are people like Emily Lazar working to change that πŸ’ͺ. St. Vincent, Haim, and Chappell Roan are all amazing artists who deserve this recognition. I'm also loving the auction with exclusive items from some talented artists 🎁. It's great to see We Are Moving the Needle promoting equality and creativity in music 🎡.

πŸ€” gotta love that Chaka Khan is still killin' it at 80+ πŸŽΆπŸ’β€β™€οΈ, but like seriously can we get some more diversity in the industry? Only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female πŸ“ŠπŸ˜’, and I'm over here thinking where's the rest of them talented ladies?! And omg the guest list for the Chaka Khan tribute is EVERYTHING πŸ’–πŸŽΆ, but can we get some more women in positions of power behind the scenes too? It's all about representation, folks 🀝. We're moving the needle, but let's keep movin' πŸ’¨

πŸ€” so like when you think about the music industry and all these women who are doing amazing things behind the scenes but not always getting the recognition they deserve... 🎢 5.9% female producers on Billboard Hot 100 chart is like crazy low 😱 i mean what's the point of even having awards if the goal isn't to actually change that kinda thing πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

and can we talk about Chaka Khan for a sec? she's literally the Queen of Funk and she's being toasted with a tribute πŸŽ‰ but also the fact that she's speaking out about empowering women is so inspiring πŸ’ͺ

Chaka Khan is gonna bring the heat with her tribute and we all know St Vincent's gonna be all over those Resonator Awards πŸŽ‰. I'm low-key hyped for Haim, too, their whole energy vibe always gives me life πŸ’– but can someone explain to me why only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female? just wondering...
