Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim, and Chappell Roan are among the honorees of the 2026 Resonator Awards, a music industry event honoring impactful female music makers presented by We Are Moving the Needle.
The awards ceremony will take place on January 27 at Los Angeles' Chaplin Studios, featuring performances from FLO, Thundercat, and Hayley Williams. The Queen of Funk Chaka Khan will be toasted with a tribute of her greatest hits performed by special guests including Grace Bowers, Hayley Williams, Lalah Hathaway, Maggie Rogers, and more.
The Resonator Awards aim to strengthen the music industry so creators can thrive on their own terms. According to the 2025 Annenberg Report, only 5.9% of producers on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart are female. The organization was founded in 2021 by Grammy-winning engineer Emily Lazar as a response to severe underrepresentation by women in creative fields related to music.
The honorees of the Resonator Awards include St. Vincent, Haim, and Chappell Roan, among other notable women working behind the scenes in production, engineering, and songwriting. The event also features an auction with exclusive items from artists such as boygenius, Haim, Remi Wolf, Weezer, Nancy Whang, and more.
We Are Moving the Needle's mission is to build an industry that lives up to its values by honoring remarkable artistry and shared commitment to creating a thriving music industry. Chaka Khan expressed her support for the organization, stating "Empowered women empower women. I am honored to be part of a movement that celebrates the creativity, resilience, and determination of women creators everywhere."
