Champions League review: Arsenal erupt, PSV stun Liverpool and Benfica revive

Arsenal Stun Bayern, PSV Embarrass Liverpool and Benfica Rise from Ashes

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal unleashed a blistering attack that left Bayern Munich reeling. The Gunners' 4-0 thrashing of the defending champions marked a stunning turn in fortunes for Mikel Arteta's team, who now sit atop the Champions League group-stage table with a perfect 100% record.

Jurriën Timber and Lennart Karl netted the opening two goals before Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli sealed the win. The victory was all the more impressive given Bayern's reputation for stifling opponents with their possession-based style.

Meanwhile, at Anfield, Liverpool suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven. Arne Slot's team showed a more cohesive unit than their visitors, dominating the game with quick passes and clever movement off the ball. The Dutch side's Ivan Perisic netted an early penalty before Guus Til sealed the win.

In contrast, Benfica staged a remarkable comeback against Ajax, winning 2-0 in a match that saw the Portuguese team finally break their six-match losing streak. José Mourinho's seventh Champions League victory over his former club will be celebrated after a toothless Ajax attack was exposed by Samuel Dahl's goal from a corner.

Across Europe, other teams also notched important victories. Estevão scored a stunning solo effort against Barcelona, while Chelsea's new signing shone brightly in the renewal match between the two clubs. Meanwhile, Randal Kolo Muani netted twice for Tottenham against his parent club, and PSG thrashed Tottenham 5-3 with Vitinha completing a hat-trick.

On the other side of the spectrum, Napoli secured a crucial 2-0 win over Qarabag on the fifth anniversary of Diego Maradona's passing. Antonio Conte praised the "special atmosphere" in the stadium, which was attended by fans from both Naples and Qarabag.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard expressed concern about his team's current form, but Jamie Carragher took a more aggressive stance against their coach, stating that Konaté should be sacked for his poor performance. Meanwhile, Manchester City and Barcelona face big tests in the coming weeks as they look to reclaim their places among the Champions League contenders.

As the group stage unfolds, Arsenal will continue to be watched with great interest by fans around Europe. Their 4-0 victory over Bayern Munich has set a new standard for the team's attacking play, and it will be fascinating to see how they build on this momentum in the coming weeks.

OMG, just saw this crazy Arsenal win vs Bayern 🤯! Like, who would've thought they'd crush the defending champs like that? Their attack was straight fire 🔥! And btw, PSV Eindhoven totally deserved their 3-1 win over Liverpool... those Dutch guys were on point! 🙌

But seriously though, Benfica's comeback against Ajax is insane 💥! Mourinho must be hella happy about getting one over his old club. And what's with all these upsets happening in the Champions League? It's making for some wild matches! 😮

Chelsea's new signing looks promising tho 🤞... and Estevão's solo goal vs Barcelona was straight poetry in motion 🎨. Can't wait to see how this tournament shakes out. Should be an epic ride until the end 💥

I gotta say, I'm loving this Champions League stuff right now 🤩! Reminds me of the 90s when Arsenal used to thrash teams all over Europe under George Graham's management... man those were the days! 😆 Now, with Mikel Arteta at the helm, it's like he's brought a bit of that magic back to the Emirates. That Bayern Munich team is just so... predictable 😴. And can we talk about Liverpool's form? 😲 3-1 to PSV Eindhoven? That's just crazy! They need to sort themselves out pronto! 🚨 Anyway, Benfica coming from behind against Ajax is like a breath of fresh air 💨. Reminds me of the 2000s when Porto was on fire under José Mourinho... those were the days, my friend! 😊

idk about liverpool's coach Jürgen Klopp being so defensive all the time 🤔, can't he just take responsibility when things go wrong? also PSV Eindhoven's 3-1 win over Liverpool was pretty impressive, their squad depth looks strong 💪 meanwhile arseneal's 4-0 thrashing of bayern is crazy, mikel arteta's tactics are really paying off 🤩

omg i was watching arsenal vs bayern and i'm still tryna process what just happened 🤯! did u guys catch that game? lol what was going thru mikel arteta's mind when they were down 0-1? i mean, come on! benfica coming back from 6 losses is like the ultimate comeback story 🏆 meanwhile, liverpool got destroyed by psv 😱 and man city & barcelona r in trouble too 🤔 what's going on with chelsea tho? their new signing sounds super cool 🎉

omg this arsenal win is insane!!!! 🤯 Bayern got thrashed 4-0 what was expected from mikel arteta's tactics 🔥 he must be so proud of his team now! 👏 also psv eindhoven killed it against liverpool 😂 arne slot's team played like a well-oiled machine. benfica's comeback against ajax is truly inspiring 💪 jose mourinho deserves all the praise for this one.

on a related note i wonder how arsenal will handle the pressure of being at the top of the group now 🤔 they can't keep up this pace all season, can they? 😅 and what about liverpool's recent form? 🤯 steven Gerrard is right to be concerned.

lol just imagine the look on Bayerns faces when arsenal started pouring goals in 💥👀 arse is back where it belongs! i loved the comeback by benfica btw 🙌 jose mouro is a genius, that's 7 champs league wins for him 🤩 and sloting PSV to liverpool was a nice cup of tea ☕

🔥 just got my money back on Arsenal! Mikel Arteta's boys are UNSTOPPABLE right now! 🔴👊 that 4-0 thrashing of Bayern is a masterclass in attacking football 🤯 and I'm loving every minute of it 💥 PSV embarrassing Liverpool? no surprises there, the Reds have been in a slump for a while 🙄. Benfica's comeback against Ajax is amazing though, José Mourinho proved once again why he's a top coach 👏. And Estevão's solo goal against Barcelona? pure magic ✨

omg u guys cant even believe what just happened i mean arsenal is literally unstoppable now theyve got the whole group stage wrapped up with 100% record lol mikel arteta is a genius!!! Bayern was so caught off guard by arsenals attack i mean jurrien timber and lennart karl were on fire 🔥💥 and thats not even mentioning declan rice who scored an important goal too 👏 benfica coming back from behind against ajax is also super inspiring jose mourinho must be so proud of his team 💪👊

🤯 I mean, can you believe it? Arsenal is killing it right now! 🚀 They've always been known for their defense, but now they're showing some serious firepower up front too. 4-0 over Bayern? That's just insane! 🤯 Mikel Arteta must be doing something right. And PSV Eindhoven is on fire, I love it! 🎉 Their attack was so crisp and clean, Liverpool got served big time 😂. Benfica coming back from a tough stretch like that? Massive credit to José Mourinho, he's still got it 💯.

And what's up with this Champions League group stage drama? Everyone's struggling except Arsenal and maybe PSV. 🤔 The rest of the teams need to step their game up if they wanna make some noise in this competition. And let's be real, Benfica is like a dark horse right now - can't wait to see how they roll out next week! 🔮

I'm loving the underdog storylines so far, too. Napoli getting that win over Qarabag? That's always a bonus 🎉. Estevão's solo goal was insane - I mean what kind of player does that? 😲 And Chelsea's new signing is looking good so far... but we'll see how long this magic lasts 🔮.

Anyway, back to Arsenal - have you seen their stats lately? They're just racking up goals left and right. This could be a title-winning season for them if they can keep it up! 🏆

idk about arsenal being the top dog now they've beaten bayern i mean thats gonna take some getting back down 🤔 the thing is mikel arteta's tactics have always been a bit hit or miss and now their attacking play is on fire like what changed 🤑 anyway its good to see benfica bounce back from those losses but we'll see how long they can keep it up also that liverpool game was pretty cringeworthy i mean 3-1 vs psv eindhoven thats not exactly a top tier team so yeah cant say much for jürgen klopps tactics rn

I'm literally hyped right now 🤩! The way Arsenal just destroyed Bayern is insane! 4-0 is a huge statement, and I love that Mikel Arteta's team is finally showing some consistency. The way Jurriën Timber and Lennart Karl started the game was super clinical, and then Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli all chimed in to seal the win 🤯. Bayern's reputation for being a tough opponent is definitely been shaken up now.

But what really caught my eye is how PSV Eindhoven just absolutely annihilated Liverpool 😂. 3-1 is a huge margin of defeat, especially considering how well PSV played. Arne Slot must be loving every minute of this! And on the other end of the spectrum, Benfica's comeback against Ajax was pure magic ✨. José Mourinho finally got that one over his old club, and Samuel Dahl's goal from a corner was the perfect cherry on top.

I'm also loving the vibes around Estevão's solo effort against Barcelona 🔥. That guy is a goal-scoring machine, and I have no doubt he'll keep delivering these types of performances. And let's not forget about Chelsea's new signing, who looked 🔥 in their renewal match against their parent club.

It's going to be so much fun watching Arsenal build on this momentum and see how they compete with the big boys in the Champions League 💪. Can't wait to see what the rest of the group stage has in store! 😃

Ugh, I was just thinking about trying out that new café near my place, you know the one with the sick coffee ? 🤩 Anyway, back to the Champions League... what's up with Bayern's defense? They look like they're sleeping on the job out there 😂. And I love how Arsenal is taking it to everyone, but can we talk about that PSV team now? Those Dutch guys are straight fire 🔥. Did you catch Estevão's solo goal against Barcelona? That was insane!

Man I'm loving this season so far! Arsenal's performance against Bayern is insane - it's like they're a completely different team from last year 🤯. They've shown that their attack can truly rival the best teams, and Mikel Arteta's tactics are finally paying off.

I think what's most impressive about this win is how well they controlled the game - no one could get past them and Bayern were left looking frustrated 🙄. And to be honest, I'm a bit surprised by Liverpool's meltdown against PSV, that was just an embarrassing performance from their players 😳. It'll be interesting to see if they can bounce back from this.

But what really caught my eye is Benfica's comeback against Ajax - José Mourinho must be loving every minute of it! 🤩 His tactics are always so clever and the team's response was exactly what you'd expect from a well-coached unit. And those goals by Samuel Dahl were just beautiful to watch, he's definitely one to keep an eye on.

As for the other teams, I'm excited to see how Arsenal builds on this momentum - can they keep it up? And will Barcelona and Manchester City be able to get back on track after a few disappointing results?

On a side note, I love that Napoli are finally starting to look like the team we all know they should be 🙌. The win over Qarabag was a much-needed boost for them, and I'm sure Antonio Conte will be proud of his players.

It's going to be an interesting few weeks in the Champions League group stage, but one thing is for sure - it's going to be fun to watch! 😃

OMG 😱 4-0 thrashing of Bayern is huge! I'm loving Mikel Arteta's team right now 🤩. They've got some serious firepower upfront and their defense is looking solid. That Arsenal win has set a new standard for the Champions League, imo 💥. PSV embarrassing Liverpool though 😂. Their team was way more cohesive than theirs. And Benfica coming from behind against Ajax is just amazing 🙌. José Mourinho's getting the better of his former club, nice revenge! 😉

OMG, what a night of football!!! Arsenal totally destroyed Bayern 😲🔥, I mean who saw that coming?! Mikel Arteta's tactics were pure GENIUS 🤓! And Liverpool getting thrashed by PSV? 😱 That was a wake-up call for Jurgen Klopp's team. Can they get their act together ASAP?

PSV's win over Liverpool showed that the Dutch side is a force to be reckoned with, and Benfica staging an epic comeback against Ajax? 💥 That's what we call determination! José Mourinho must be thrilled with his team's performance.

The Champions League is heating up, and I'm LOVING it 🎉! Estevão's solo effort against Barcelona was insane 😲, and Chelsea's new signing looks like a game-changer. Randal Kolo Muani's double against Tottenham was pure joy 🤩

But seriously, the Champions League group stage is all about surprises right now ⚡️. Arsenal's 4-0 win has set a new standard for teams to chase. Will they keep up the momentum? We'll have to wait and see, but one thing's for sure – this league is going to be CRAZY 💥 #ChampionsLeague #Arsenal #Liverpool #PSV

This is insane 🤯! Arsenal just went 4-0 up on Bayern and everyone's talking about them now 🔥. I mean, who saw that coming? Arteta's got some magic tricks up his sleeve 💫. And to think they were written off as a team that would struggle in the Champions League 😴. PSV's result is even more shocking – can't believe Liverpool got embarrassed like that 🤦‍♂️.

Benfica's win against Ajax is super impressive, and José Mourinho must be celebrating another big victory 👏. Chelsea's new signing is looking like a real game-changer, and Tottenham's resurgence could be the key to staying in contention 🔥.

But seriously, there's still a lot of drama brewing around Liverpool. Is it time for them to shake things up or are they just too comfortable in their bubble? 🤔

OMG, what a night of drama & thrills in the Champions League 🤯! I'm loving the turn of events for Arsenal - who knew they'd go from 0-3 down last week to blowing Bayern out of the water like that? 😲 Mikel Arteta's team is looking super strong now, and with their attack firing on all cylinders, it'll be hard for anyone to stop them.

PSV Eindhoven's win over Liverpool was a major shock, but they played some great football - I love how they moved the ball quickly & worked together as a team 🤝. And Benfica's comeback against Ajax? Unbelievable! José Mourinho must be thrilled to have finally broken his losing streak 🔥.

But you can't ignore the struggles of Liverpool right now, and it's getting a bit concerning for fans... Steven Gerrard's comments about the coach are spot on 🙌. Manchester City & Barcelona better step up their game soon or risk falling behind in the Champions League 🏆

omg, can't believe arsenal is on fire right now 💥🔴⚽️ their attack is so sick, i mean 4-0 over bayern is a huge statement win 🤯 and it's not just about the goals they're creating chances and controlling the tempo of the game really well 👍

as for liverpool, yeah that was a bad loss for them 🤕 but u gotta give psv credit for their performance they looked sharp and organized 🔩 and as for jamie carragher saying konate should go i think he's just panicking 😅 steven gerrard's right to be worried though we need to see some consistency from liverpool

and benfica's comeback against ajax was amazing 🙌 jose mourinho's win is a huge milestone and i'm loving the confidence they're gaining from this result 💪
