CNN head told reporters to ease up on East Wing demolition stories after Trump meeting: report

I'm not sure what's going on at CNN rn 🤔... just got this info about their CEO Mark Thompson telling staff to back off on Trump's East Wing demolition plans? Like, what's next? Is the network gonna start covering cat videos or something? 🐈😂 I get that they wanna be neutral, but come on, can't you just report on what's actually happening without twisting it to appease everyone? It's like when my friends and I are trying to have a convo, someone's always trying to change the subject or play devil's advocate... yeah, same with journalism 🤷‍♂️. But honestly, this whole thing does make me wonder if there's some kind of bigger plan going on behind the scenes... or maybe it's just me overthinking things again 😅

dude I'm so done with this 🙄 news. Thompson is literally trying to water down CNN's reporting on the East Wing demolition plans because he doesn't want to rock the boat, you feel? Like, what's next? Are they gonna start doing soft interviews with Trump just to make him look good? 🤯 it's all about appeasing the president and getting his approval ratings up. But at what cost? The integrity of their journalism is being compromised and that's a big deal, fam. I'm glad CNN is pushing back against these claims, but it's also concerning that they're not taking a firmer stance on this issue. It's time for them to stand up for what's right and not be afraid to take on the powers that be 🤔

idk about this, feels like they're just trying to appease trump now lol 😂 cnn should be able to report on whatever they want, shouldn't have to check with him first 🤷‍♂️ doesn't matter if it's "big tent" or not, gotta keep an eye on the guy for his own sake... but what if it backfires and they lose credibility? 🤔

I'm so worried about the direction CNN is heading 🤕. It feels like they're losing their grip on what really matters - telling people the truth. Remember when Walter Cronkite used to anchor the news? He was the voice of reason, you know? Anyway, this East Wing demolition thing has me thinking, if we start watering down our coverage to appease Trump's ego, what's next? Will we start reporting on his golf game instead of actual policy decisions?

And I gotta wonder, what happened to Jim Acosta? Poor guy was just doing his job and suddenly he's out. It's like they're trying to silence dissenting voices or something. I know CNN doesn't want to be seen as "partisan," but can't they just report the facts without taking sides?

Mark Thompson's "big tent" approach sounds like a bunch of corporate jargon to me 🤦‍♂️. What does that even mean? Is it code for "we're going to compromise on our values and sacrifice quality journalism"? I hope not, cuz if so, we're in big trouble.

📰😒 I'm low-key worried about this whole thing tho, it's like CNN is starting to lose its edge or something? Mark Thompson thinks he can just dictate what viewers want and expect the editorial team to go along with it? That's not how journalism works, fam! 🤔 The idea of a "big tent" approach sounds nice on paper, but when you start compromising your values for the sake of ratings, that's when things get real problematic. And let's be real, if Thompson is trying to appeal to both sides, what about all the folks in the middle who just want honest reporting? 🤷‍♂️ It's like they're trying to suck up to Trump and his crew without even acknowledging the elephant in the room – the fact that he's basically destroying the East Wing. 🚧 I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out, but one thing's for sure: if CNN starts to water down its reporting just to appease a certain president, then they're gonna lose their credibility in my book. 👎

idk why they're making such a big deal about this... i mean, what's next? they're gonna start editing their own news? 🤔 it's just more fake news trying to spin the narrative to suit their interests. thompson's just trying to make a buck and appease trump, not about journalism or fact-checking anymore. the whole thing smells like a setup for them to push their new streaming service... anyone think this is really about "viewers' interests" or just an excuse to sell more subsciption plans? 🤑
