Dark depths with Emin, a homoerotic saint and punchy political posters – the week in art

omg, another exhibition that's all about the "dark corners" of human experience... like, can't we just talk about something else for once? 🙄

but hey, if you're into homoerotic art and want to check out Ming Wong's latest show at Carl Freedman Gallery in Margate, I guess it's cool 😎. And I'm sure the immersive installation "Souvenir" at Fitzrovia Chapel is just, like, super nostalgic and stuff 📚.

I'm also intrigued by the fact that the National Gallery is trying to tell us something about women's roles in Catholic art... it's like they're saying, "Hey, we get it, women were oppressed back then." 🙃 But hey, at least they're trying to spark some conversation, right? 💬

and can we talk about Paulus Potter's 17th-century masterpiece for a sec? Like, who knew the artist had to halve those bull testicles to make them conform to 17th-century sensibilities? 🤯 Talk about body modification!

anyway, I guess it's always fun to take a trip down memory lane with Ian McKellen lip-syncing to audio tapes of LS Lowry and David Bowie... but only if you're into that sorta thing 🎵.
