Democrats sift through shutdown's ashes after resistance finally breached

I was just thinking about my cat's fur yesterday , and how it always seems to get all fluffy again after a bath... anyway, back to the topic at hand (or should I say, lack thereof?) . What really got me though was watching that funny video of dogs playing fetch, and how they always seem so carefree and happy . You know what would be great right now? A nice cup of hot coffee ️ with some good company... but I guess that's not exactly the topic at hand, is it?

man... i feel like we're stuck in this never ending cycle of politics ... it's been 42 days already, can't they just agree on something? but at the same time, i'm kinda proud of my reps for standing up for what they believe in, even if it means taking a hit ... i just hope that somehow, someway, we can make healthcare more affordable for everyone ... and btw, why do we always have to choose between our personal values and politics? can't we find a way to balance both?

omg i cant even imagine how frustrating it must be for ppl who rely on those tax credits 42 days is a long time esp with federal workers missing paychecks anyway i think its super admirable of democrats to stand firm on their priorities even tho its clear republicans are not gonna b budged im all about affordable healthcare and its wild that rep congressmen are literally begging dems to give them leverage

I think this whole shutdown thing was a big test for both parties... and it looks like Dems came out swinging ... but at the same time, it's also possible that they might've played right into Reps' hands ... I mean, if people are already viewing them as more unpopular than the Dems, maybe pushing the issue in January could actually backfire . On the other hand, I think it's hard to deny that Democrats did some solid work here... refusing to budge on healthcare is no easy feat ... and whoever said Reps were just "providing the necessary votes" didn't see all the strings attached ... like what about those tax cuts? Or the downsizing of the health program for low-income folks?

I think its crazy how they're already hyping up another showdown... Like, can't we just get some peace and quiet for a sec? But seriously, I'm low-key concerned about the long-term effects of this shutdown on our healthcare system. It's like, what's next after they all play politics with people's lives? The government says they're gonna keep pushing for affordable care, but I've got my doubts... And have you seen the polls? People are fed up with both parties... It's getting old, fam.
