Derek Chisora to fight Deontay Wilder in London in April

Derek Chisora is set to face Deontay Wilder in his 50th career fight, the British boxer has revealed. The bout will take place at a venue in London on April 4 as part of Wilder's comeback.

Chisora had previously stated that he would retire after 50 fights and the bout in London marks his last professional fight. However, BBC Sport understands that Chisora has now opted to face Wilder instead.

The former world heavyweight champion suffered successive defeats by Tyson Fury in 2020 and 2021, which marked a significant decline from his invincible past. He recently returned with a seventh-round stoppage victory over Tyrrell Anthony Herndon.

Wilder's downfall may have come as a result of back-to-back stoppage defeats against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang last year, however he has still been linked to a potential fight against unified champion Oleksandr Usyk if he beats Chisora.

🤔 I'm thinking about how crazy it is that Derek Chisora is changing his mind about retiring after 50 fights 🤯. Like, he was all set for that last bow out, but now he's gonna get back in the ring and fight Wilder instead? That's some wild stuff! 😲 And what's up with this London venue thing? Can't they make it a bit more... visual, you know? A nice layout or design to really make the event pop? 🎨 Maybe some creative graphics around Chisora's bio on the poster? 📣 I feel like that could take the whole thing from okay to WOW! 💥

🤔 So Chisora's gonna go for the win against Wilder now? That's weird... wasn't he supposed to retire after 50? 🏉 I mean, I know some people still got love for him, but his form has been pretty shaky lately. He lost to Fury twice and then came back with a decent win over some random guy... what makes him think he can beat Wilder? 🤷‍♂️ The question is, where's the comeback strategy here? Is Chisora just trying to get some hype or is this really his last stand? 💥

omg i'm so hyped for this one!!! derek chisora's 50th fight is finally happening!! and it's gonna be in london!!! can u believe it?! i've been following derek's career for ages and i've seen him go from being the invincible champion to struggling a bit, but he's still got heart 🤯

deontay wilder's comeback is gonna be lit!!! i know some ppl might say he's past his prime or whatever, but i think this fight can really help him get back on track 💪 and who knows, maybe we'll see him vs oleksandr usyk next!!

but seriously, derek chisora deserves a big win in his last fight, u feel? it's like the ultimate farewell to pro boxing 🥊

So now Derek Chisora is gonna throw his towel in after the Wilder fight lol, was thinking he'd actually stick to that plan, but i guess you can never tell with these old-school boxers 😂. Still got a lot of respect for the guy, been around the block a few times and still has the will to win. Wilder's comeback is gonna be interesting tho, been out of the picture for a bit so who knows what kind of shape he'll be in by April 4? 🤔

🤔 I'm just thinking about Derek Chisora's decision to go for this 50th fight instead of retiring... it's like his body is telling him 'hey, you can still do this!' 🏋️‍♂️ But let's be real, he has been in a bit of a decline since those losses to Fury back in 2020 and 21. Like, he's not the same fighter he used to be 🤷‍♂️.

And Wilder is definitely going through some tough times himself... I mean who isn't after getting knocked out by Usyk? 😩 But seriously, if Chisora can take him down in his last fight, it'll be a big deal for both of them. And for us, as fans, it's just another epic showdown to look forward to! 🥊

🤔 So Chisora's changing the plans on his retirement now? Like, what's going on with that? He says 50 and then suddenly decides to go for Wilder instead. I get it, gotta make some cash, right? 🤑 But still feels like he's being kinda reckless, you know? Been through some tough times in the ring lately and this is his biggest comeback fight yet. Hope he's got a solid game plan or else it'll be another long night for him 💔

🤯 what a complete flip flop from Derek Chisora, I mean who changes their mind on retirement after making it clear they're done? that's some last minute cold feet 🙅‍♂️ he should've stuck to his guns, now Wilder gets the easy win and can try to revive his career... meanwhile Chisora's just throwing away his dignity and what's left of his boxing career. Fury's gonna be laughing on the sidelines when this one goes down 😂

I think this is gonna be a crazy fight 🤯! Derek Chisora's been talkin' about retirin after 50 fights, but now he's all in on this one against Deontay Wilder 🔥. I mean, both guys got some scars from their past losses, Chisora went down twice to Fury and Wilder got knocked out by Parker 🤕... this is like a war 💥.

Wilder's been talkin' about comin back strong, but we'll see how that plays out 🤔. If he beats Chisora, that could set him up for a big fight against Usyk 🤝. Chisora's lookin' to make the most of his 50th fight and go out on top 💪.

Here's a quick diagram to illustrate my thoughts:
```
+-----------+
| Wilder |
+-----------+ +-----------+
| USyk | | New |
| Challenge| | Fights? |
What do you guys think about this one 🤔?
Lol what's next? Chisora gonna retire after one win 🤣, or is this just the start of another wild ride? Wilder needs a miracle to win now, I'm rooting for Chisora! 👊
I don’t usually comment but I think it’s wild (no pun intended) that Derek Chisora is still going for his 50th fight after saying he was done before 🤯. You’d think the old body would be telling him to hang up the gloves, but this guy’s got some fire left in him! 💥 Still, you can’t deny the rivalry between these two - Wilder and Chisora have had their fair share of battles over the years and it's gonna be interesting to see how this one plays out 🤔. I mean, we all know Chisora isn't the same fighter he used to be after those losses to Fury 😐, but maybe this is just what he needed to get him back on track 💪?
can u believe chisora is doin this?? like he's all set for his 50th fight but now hes changin plans lol. i feel bad for wilder tho, the guy needs to get back on track ASAP. and what about herndon? that win was just one round 🤣. anyway, im curious to see how chisora holds up against wilder. should be a good scrap 👊
