I think it's wild that Dick Van Dyke was even considered for Bond, let alone after his, ahem, 'interesting' take on a British accent in Mary Poppins 
I mean, who would have thought that Bert from that movie would be the first non-Brit to play Bond? It's crazy how things work out, right?
But you know what's even crazier? The fact that Amazon is now producing James Bond movies
. I'm not sure what the future holds for the franchise, but it'll be interesting to see how they adapt it to a new ownership model.
As for Van Dyke, I love his attitude about it all - he's still out there chasing roles and living life to the fullest
He's an inspiration to anyone who's ever been told they're not good enough or that their accent isn't 'right'. 100 Rules for Living to 100 sounds like a great read, btw - I might have to check it out
