Donald Trump says he has been told the 'killing in Iran is stopping' – live

US President Donald Trump has claimed that he was informed by his advisors that killings in Iran's crackdown on nationwide protests are subsiding. The 26-year-old protester Erfan Soltani who had been sentenced to death was not executed today, according to a family member, but could still face execution at any time.

Trump stated that there is no plan for executions in Iran and expressed concerns if such a plan were to be put in place. However, the president also warned that he would be "very upset" if the regime moved forward with executing protesters. Trump's administration has been under pressure from human rights groups over its handling of the situation.

The US president also declined to rule out military action against Iran, stating that his administration will wait and see what happens next. German airline Lufthansa has announced it will bypass Iranian and Iraqi airspace "until further notice" due to the current situation in the Middle East.

Several countries, including Poland, Italy, and Spain, have issued travel warnings and advised their citizens to leave Iran immediately due to the unstable situation. The G7 foreign ministers have condemned the Iranian authorities' use of violence against protesters and called for restraint.

The US and UK have evacuated personnel from a Qatar military base amid concerns that Washington might soon launch military action against Iran. Tehran has warned that any retaliatory strikes would be severe.

Despite the heightened tensions, the situation appears to be slowly de-escalating, with Israeli officials saying they would not carry out a pre-emptive strike provided it was not attacked first. However, the prospect of a US military strike remains a pressing concern for Israel, which has been preparing for potential retaliation from Tehran.

I'm so worried about all these protesters in Iran 🤕. It's crazy that they can be sentenced to death just because they're speaking out against their government. And now the US President is saying that he might send troops over there? That sounds like a recipe for disaster 💥. I don't get why some countries are evacuating their citizens, shouldn't they be protecting them instead of leaving them behind? 😔

I think it's great that some countries are standing up against Iran's government and calling for restraint, but at the same time, I'm scared about what might happen next 🤯. I just want all these people to be safe and able to live their lives without fear of persecution or death 💖. Can't we all just get along? 😔

I'm worried about the protesters in Iran 🤕💔. I mean, can't they just have some freedom to speak out and express themselves? It's like, we should be supporting them not kinda sorta criticizing them 🙅‍♂️. And Trump is all like 'oh I'm gonna get upset if you execute anyone' 🙄 but what about the killings that already happened? 🤯. It's crazy how some countries are taking a stand against Iran while others just wanna stay outta it 🚫. What's the point of even having diplomats if they're not gonna do something?! 🤷‍♂️.

I'm still trying to process what's going on in Iran 🤔. I mean, can you imagine if our school principal said they're going to execute someone just because they protested about the new uniform policy? It's crazy! 😲 And now Trump is saying he'll be "very upset" if Iran does that... but at the same time, he's talking about military action? 🤯 Like, isn't that even more serious than just being upset? 🤔

And I don't get why some countries are already telling their citizens to leave Iran. Can't they just have a peaceful protest like we do in our school's student council elections? 😕 It feels like the whole world is watching this situation and it's so overwhelming.

I just wish someone could explain to me how all these countries' actions are connected. Like, what if the US military strikes Iran? How would that affect us here in school? 🤔 Wouldn't we have more problems than just dealing with our own school drama for once? 😂

man this is so crazy 🤯 I'm literally shaking thinking about all these protests and executions going on in Iran. like what's going on with that government? they need to just calm down and listen to their people already 😔 Erfan Soltani, poor guy, being kept alive by a death sentence is insane... it's like, hello humanity?

and now the US president is involved, which is not helping 🤦‍♂️ Trump saying he'll be "very upset" if they execute protesters, but still gonna wait and see what happens next... I guess that's just how diplomacy works, but seriously, can't we all just get along? 🙏

anyway, the whole thing with Lufthansa skipping Iran airspace is pretty wild too. like, air travel should be about people, not politics right now 💨 Poland, Italy, and Spain issuing travel warnings... that's some serious stuff. I just hope everyone stays safe out there 😕

I'm so concerned about what's happening in Iran right now 🤕💔 The way the government is handling these protests is totally unacceptable and I'm not surprised that human rights groups are speaking out against it. Trump's comments about the US being "very upset" if the regime moves forward with executing protesters is a good start, but we need more concrete actions from our leaders.

I also feel bad for Erfan Soltani and his family - they must be going through such an emotional rollercoaster not knowing what's happening next. The fact that the situation appears to be slowly de-escalating is a positive sign, but let's not forget that there are still so many innocent people who could get hurt if tensions rise again.

It's interesting how the European countries are taking a different approach by issuing travel warnings and advising their citizens to leave Iran immediately. Maybe this will put some pressure on the Iranian authorities to behave responsibly?

🤔 so i think both sides should try to calm down here... Iran's protests are getting out of hand and they need to figure out a way to make it stop without causing more violence. Trump's point about executions is valid too - that would just escalate things further.

at the same time, US is always gonna be worried about its own security and if there's even a remote chance of something happening, they can't just sit back... but military action should be last resort, you know? it's like, if everyone else is already on edge, then who's gonna calm things down?

i also feel for the protesters - i mean, i get why they're angry and frustrated with their gov... but taking it out on innocent ppl isn't gonna solve anything. 🤷‍♂️ and it's not just Iran's problem, international community needs to step in here too...

I don't think this is going to end well... I mean, Trump's all bark and no bite, you know? He's trying to sound tough on Iran, but really he's just playing politics with people's lives. And what about the protesters who are still at risk of being executed? It's like, yeah, good luck with that "no plan for executions" thing... 🤣

And have you seen the German airline Lufthansa quitting airspace over there? Like, that's a major airline just bailing because of all the drama. What's next? The whole world is going to be like, "No thanks, we're outta here!" 🚫

I'm also not buying the "situation appears to be de-escalating" stuff... it feels like everyone's just playing a game of chicken until someone blinks. And what about Israel? They're basically sitting ducks if the US does decide to take action. It's all just too unpredictable for me 🤯

omg I'm literally shaking thinking about all these protests and killings in Iran 🤕🇮🇷 it's like they're walking on eggshells not knowing if they'll get executed or not. I mean I know the US president trying to sound calm and all but come on, his advisors must be super nervous for him to make those statements 😬. And honestly, can you blame anyone for being upset? It's not right what's happening in Iran 🤝.

I've been following this news for days now and it's just getting more and more intense 🚨. I'm worried about the US military action too - it's like they're playing with fire without thinking of the consequences 🔥. The fact that some countries are issuing travel warnings and evacuating their citizens is a good reminder that things can get really bad, really fast ⏰.

I guess for now, it seems like tensions are slowly de-escalating but I don't know how long that will last 🤞. One thing's for sure though - Iran needs to just stop this violence and let the protesters have their voices heard 💬.

I'm watching this Iran situation unfold and I gotta say, it's getting crazy 🤯. Trump's all over the place with his statements - one day he's saying executions are subsiding, next day he's threatening to go after Iran if they do what he thinks is wrong 😂. It's like he's trying to keep everyone on edge.

And can we talk about Lufthansa bypassing Iranian airspace? Like, good call on that one 🙌. I'm not sure how much more of this Middle East drama the world needs.

The thing is, the situation does seem to be slowing down a bit, but with Trump and Iran going back and forth like this, it's hard to predict what'll happen next 🤔. Israel's all shook up about a potential US strike - I get it, they don't want no part of another conflict 💥.

But seriously, the human rights situation in Iran is a total mess, and we need countries to keep speaking out against this violence 💪. It's time for some real action here 🚨.
