Dr. Gladys West, whose mathematical models inspired GPS, dies at 95

🤔 I gotta ask, how did it take 42 years for her contributions to finally get some recognition? 🕰️ I mean, you'd think that after all those decades of dedication and hard work, someone would've noticed by now... or at least, there should be a paper trail (no pun intended 😉) somewhere. Sources on this belated recognition please! And also, what's with the "turning point" in 2018? Was it just a random sorority trying to make some headlines? 📰 How many people from AKA are connected to Dr. West, and how did they know about her achievements so long after she retired? 🤷‍♀️

🙏 Dr Gladys West wasnt just some genius who solved math problems she was a real life hero 💪 She broke so many rules just by existing at that time period 🤯 And yeah it's wild that people didn't know about her till like 2018 lol what were they even doing all these years 🙄 Anyway I feel bad that ppl in tech and science get overlooked all the time its not right 💼 Her legacy lives on tho and I'm sure she'd be proud of how far we've come in terms of representation and recognition 👏

Can you believe it's been 27 yrs since she was published about? She was like a superhero but nobody knew 🙄... I mean, her work is so essential to how we navigate today & people are still discovering her genius 💡. It's wild that women & POC in STEM have had to fight for recognition forever. We're losing trailblazers like Dr Gladys West, it's heartbreaking 😔. Anyway, I'm glad someone from Alpha Kappa Alpha came through to shine a light on her accomplishments 👏... she deserves all the props 🎉!
