Tragedy Strikes on Cross Bronx Expressway: Driver Abandons Pedestrian in Hit-and-Run
In a shocking and disturbing incident, a pedestrian was left dead after being struck by an SUV heading west on the Cross Bronx Expressway Service Road. The pedestrian's body was discovered near the intersection of Ellis Avenue and the expressway service road in Unionport at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and took the victim to Jacobi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. just can't believe this is happening on our roads. it's like a nightmare that never ends. people deserve so much better than to be abandoned by their own vehicle after hurting someone. 
and to make matters worse, no one knows if the pedestrian was even in a designated crosswalk or not... it's just a mess. but what really gets me is thinking about all these innocent lives lost on our roads, especially pedestrians. they're not asking for much, just a safe way to get from point A to B. 
This hit-and-run is just another example of how reckless some drivers are. I mean, who abandons someone like that? It's not like they're in a life-or-death situation or something... oh wait, they probably are now. 
The fact that the driver hasn't come forward yet is already super suspicious to me. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we find out they were driving with a suspended license or something.
It's like, what are people even doing?! We need better infrastructure, more crosswalks, and some common sense when it comes to sharing the road. But no, I'm sure it's all just a huge coincidence that these incidents keep happening... 
. And now this poor guy is dead... it's just devastating

. And don't even get me started on the traffic cops – sometimes it feels like they're more interested in giving tickets to drivers than actually helping us get around safely

. Anyway, my condolences to the victim's family and loved ones 
, another person lives and dies on our roads and no one's even stopped to help? I mean, what's going through that driver's head, right? Just abandon someone like that? That SUV should be found ASAP 
. And poor guy, 13 pedestrians died just in the Bronx this year already... it's like they're not seeing us, you know? We need to keep putting pressure on the NYPD to make some changes, like more cameras or better enforcement or whatever 
. This should be a wake-up call for all of us to stay vigilant and look out for each other when we're walking...
