Eagles offensive coordinator search, coach rumor and report tracker

Philadelphia Eagles Coach Search Continues, Will New OC Bring Change?

The Philadelphia Eagles' lackluster offense this season has led to the departure of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. As the team seeks a new face at the helm, several high-profile names are being considered for the role.

Charlie Weis Jr., former Ole Miss head coach and quarterbacks specialist, is reportedly on the Eagles' radar. With only 32 years under his belt, Weis has already shown promise as a play-caller, helping his team reach the playoffs in consecutive seasons. His experience working with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss could be an asset to the Eagles.

However, it appears that Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll are currently at the top of the Eagles' coaching wish list. McDaniel, who coached the Miami Dolphins for four seasons, brings a unique offense style with pre-snap motion, misdirection, and timing. His offense is vastly different from the Eagles', which could signal a significant shake-up in the team's playbook.

Daboll, on the other hand, has a more mixed rรฉsumรฉ. As Giants head coach, he had a 20-40-1 record, with many questioning his ability to lead a team through adversity. However, he did develop Josh Allen as an offensive coordinator for the Bills and played a key role in the Crimson Tide's success.

Christian Parker, Eagles' defensive backs coach, is also being considered by other teams, including the Cowboys. With years of experience coaching star players, Parker could be poised to become a head coach soon.

The Eagles are taking a cautious approach, with some sources suggesting that they're willing to move on from their current offense in favor of something new. As the search continues, one thing is clear: the team needs a spark to ignite its offense and propel it back into contention.

Keep an eye on these names as the search for the Eagles' next offensive coordinator unfolds. Will they find someone who can bring much-needed change to the team's lackluster offense?

๐Ÿค” I think Mike McDaniel would be a game changer, his unique offense style is so different from what we saw last season, it could definitely give us a spark ๐Ÿ’ก. But at the same time, Christian Parker would be a great hire too, he has all the experience and coaching skills that are needed for this role ๐Ÿˆ

aww man, i feel u ๐Ÿค• phillies fans r goin thru so much rn. a new OC could really be the difference maker 4 this team. charlie weis jr sounds like he could bring some fresh perspective & i love that he's got exp with QBs ๐Ÿ“š but at the same time, mcDaniel & daboll seem like they could shake things up & get the offense goin ๐Ÿ”ฅ again. it's tough 2 predict w/ these coaching hires tho ๐Ÿคฏ. whatever happens, let's hope it brings some wins 4 the eagles! ๐Ÿ’ช

omg y'all think charlie weis jr is a solid choice but idk about him... i mean, 32 yrs old & already showing promise ๐Ÿค” still gotta see more tho! on the other hand, mcDaniel's pre-snap motion & misdirection could be just what the eagles need to shake things up ๐Ÿ”ฅ like, if he can make it work with jalen hurt & DeVonta smith, we're talkin game changer ๐Ÿ’ช meanwhile, daboll's got some red flags but i'm all about giving players 2nd chances ๐Ÿค— we'll c how this plays out!

OMG, I'm low-key hoping Charlie Weis Jr. gets the job ๐Ÿคž...he seems like a total game-changer with his experience working with QBs at Ole Miss. But Mike McDaniel's style is so different from what we saw last season...I'd love to see him shake things up and bring some new energy to our offense ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿˆ

๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ’ฅ Coach Weis Jr. might be just what they need, but McDaniel's pre-snap motion is making us all go wild ๐Ÿคฏ!

๐Ÿค” 82% of NFL teams that switch OCs see a 7+ yard per attempt increase in passing yards ๐Ÿ“ˆ, while 55% of those teams also see an increase in points scored ๐Ÿˆ. With Patullo out, Eagles need someone who can bring a new system and spark the offense... might as well look at Weis Jr. ๐Ÿ˜Š. McDaniel's Dolphins offense averaged 27.4 points per game last season ๐Ÿ“Š, which is 8th in the league ๐Ÿคฏ. Could be a good fit for Philly, but Daboll's Giants record doesn't exactly inspire confidence ๐Ÿ”ฎ. Parker's experience coaching star players could pay off big time... he'd be my top pick ๐Ÿ˜Ž!

I think this is gonna be interesting, lol ๐Ÿค” The Eagles need a game-changer for their offense, and with all these big-name coaches on the radar, it could go either way. I mean, Charlie Weis Jr is young and already showing promise, but if they go with Mike McDaniel or Brian Daboll, it's like starting from scratch ๐Ÿ”„. Either way, I hope they find someone who can get those points up on the board ASAP! 1๏ธโƒฃ

I'm loving this news ๐Ÿคฉ! The Eagles need a shake-up, and I think any one of those OCs could bring some serious excitement to their playbook. Weis Jr might be a bit young for the job, but if he can replicate his Ole Miss magic in Philly, that'd be awesome ๐Ÿ’ฅ. McDaniel's style is so different from what they've been doing lately, it'd be refreshing to see that kinda creativity on the field ๐Ÿˆ. Daboll's rรฉsumรฉ is a bit sketchy, but if he can bring some of that Allen magic to Jalen Hurts, that could be huge ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Whatever happens, I'm just stoked to see the Eagles get their act together and start winning again ๐Ÿ˜„!

so i think charlie weis jr is gonna be a great fit for philly ... he's all about innovation and creativity which is exactly what eagles need right now ๐Ÿค”... but then again, if they go with mcDaniel or daboll it could be a whole different ball game... both of them have their own styles which could either bring us some much needed excitement or turn the team into a completely new entity ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ’ฅ

omg i cant wait for the eagles to hire a new oc!!! ๐Ÿคฉ they need someone with a fresh perspective, you know? charlie weis jr could be the answer, but idk if he has enough experience to take on a team like philly. mike mcdaniel is def an option tho, his offense style sounds super exciting! i hope whoever they choose brings some much-needed change to that offense ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿ”ฅ

The Eagles are really struggling with that offense, right now ๐Ÿค”... I think Charlie Weis Jr could be a good pick tho, he's got some young blood in him and worked with Chambliss which is cool. But if they wanna try something different, McDaniel might be the way to go... his offense style is pretty unique so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Daboll's record isn't great tho, but he did do well with Allen at the Bills so I guess you never know ๐Ÿ˜. And Parker's a good coach, maybe he'll get another chance soon ๐Ÿคž

Coach McDaniel's playbook is like that one friend who always orders the spicy wings at happy hour - it's gonna be different, but will you like it? ๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ

[ GIF of a quarterback getting sacked by a defensive back with a "OH NO!" expression](๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜จ)

Parker being considered elsewhere? Maybe he should just coach the Eagles' defense in fantasy football and save us all the drama ๐Ÿ˜‚

OMG u guys, I think its gonna be super interesting 2 see which OC they pick 4 the Eagles ๐Ÿค”! Charlie Weis Jr is def a cool candidate, but Mike McDaniel's style is kinda crazy ๐Ÿคช. Idk if its a good thing or bad tho ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And can we talk about Christian Parker? He seems like he'd b an amazing HC in the future ๐Ÿš€! But what if they pick someone who just copies McDaniel's playbook tho ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ? The Eagles need that spark ASAP ๐Ÿ”ฅ!

๐Ÿค” Ugh, I'm so nostalgic for when NFL coaches actually cared about their offenses ๐Ÿ˜‚. It feels like every season is just about patching up last year's mistakes and hoping for a miracle.

I mean, Charlie Weis Jr. is definitely a solid choice, but have you seen the guy's resume? ๐Ÿค“ He worked with Ole Miss for like 3 years and still managed to get 'em to the playoffs... multiple times? That's gotta count for something! ๐Ÿ‘

But, on the other hand, if Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll come in, it could be a total game-changer. I'm all about that new-school offense life ๐Ÿคฉ, but I hope they don't bring too much change โ€“ we don't want to lose what made us great in the first place ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And can we talk about Christian Parker for a second? ๐Ÿ˜† He's like the ultimate dark horse candidate. Who knew our DB coach would become a head coaching contender? ๐Ÿ”ฎ

Overall, I'm excited to see where this search takes us. One thing's for sure โ€“ if they don't bring in some serious magic, we'll be stuck watching the same old Eagles offense until the cows come home ๐Ÿ„.

I'm thinking, if the Eagles wanna switch up their offense, they should think outside the box ๐Ÿค”. McDaniel's style is super interesting, but it might be too experimental for this team. Daboll's got some wins under his belt, but that 20-40-1 record is a red flag ๐Ÿšจ. Weis Jr's youth could bring some fresh energy, but we don't know how he'll adapt to Philly's system yet ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. What's crazy is how many coaches are getting serious consideration - Parker's also on the market! It's like the NFL is flooded with top-notch OCs this year ๐Ÿ˜…. One thing's for sure: they need a spark, and fast ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I think the Eagles are taking the right approach by considering new OCs ๐Ÿค”. They've been stuck in a rut, and it's time for a shake-up. Charlie Weis Jr could be the spark they need, but Mike McDaniel's innovative style might bring about more significant changes ๐Ÿ”ฅ. It'll be interesting to see how things play out with Daboll - his mixed record doesn't necessarily reflect his abilities as an OC ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Whoever gets the job, I hope it brings some excitement back to Lincoln Financial Field ๐Ÿˆ!
