Elon Musk’s Twitter promised a purge of blue check marks. Instead he singled out one account | CNN Business

Man, I'm loving this whole drama with Elon Musk on Twitter 🤣👀 Like, what even is the deal with him? He starts promising to scrub blue checkmarks from verified accounts, but then goes and singles out The New York Times like that? It's just so...Musk 🙄. And now he's got everyone confused because it looks like he's gonna be a total wild card from here on out 🎯.

I mean, I get it, The New York Times didn't wanna pay for verification and all, but come on, can't you just let them keep their blue checkmark? It's not like they're scamming anyone 😒. And what's with the label that says "This account is verified because it's subscribed to Twitter Blue or is a legacy verified account"? Sounds like a fancy way of saying "we don't trust you, legit user" 🤦‍♂️.

I'm just gonna say it: Musk needs to chill out and make some actual policy decisions instead of winging it every time he tweets 🔥. Can we get back to having nuanced discussions on Twitter? 😩

😒 I'm so done with this Blue checkmark drama on Twitter! I mean, what's next? 🤔 The fact that Elon Musk targeted The New York Times' main account while leaving other accounts alone is just weird. 🤷‍♂️ It smells like a power play to me, and not in a good way 😒. And now we're all stuck waiting for April 1 to see what's next... meanwhile, scammers are gonna be having the time of their lives trying to impersonate verified users 🚫💸! Can't we just have some consistency around here? 🤦‍♂️

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened with @NYTimes on Twitter 🤯. I mean, if they don't want to pay $8/month, why did Elon single them out? It just feels like another example of him being all over the place with his decisions 🤔. And now, people are worried about scammers getting in because of how the new verification system works 🚨. I get what he's trying to do, but it just seems so haphazard... and not very Twitter-like 😅.

I'm not surprised at all that Elon Musk went ahead with scrapping The New York Times' blue checkmark 🤔. I mean, we've seen this guy make some wild decisions before, like taking Tesla private or changing Twitter's algorithm without consulting anyone 😂. And let's be real, he's been on a warpath against mainstream media outlets for years 👊.

But what really grinds my gears is that he's making these changes with no apparent logic or thought process 🤯. Like, why target The New York Times specifically? What did they do to deserve this 🤷‍♂️? And what about the other accounts that aren't paying for verification? Are we supposed to just magically start paying $8 a month now 💸?

I'm all for innovation and change, but sometimes I feel like Elon Musk is just making things up as he goes along 🚀. It's like he's more concerned with being "different" and "edgy" than actually making decisions that benefit the platform or its users 🤷‍♂️.

Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all plays out 🎭. One thing's for sure, though: Elon Musk's Twitter is no longer a place for subtlety or nuance 😂. It's like a rollercoaster ride of emotions and unpredictability 🎠!
