OSF Saint Anthony Medical Group Cooperates as Illinois Surgeon Accused of Killing Ex-Wife in Ohio Slaying
A faith-based Catholic medical practice in Illinois has revealed that it is cooperating with authorities investigating a gruesome double murder in Ohio. Michael David McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon employed by OSF Saint Anthony, has been accused of gunning down his ex-wife and her new husband in their home on December 30.
According to police and public records, McKee allegedly traveled over 300 miles from Illinois to Ohio to carry out the heinous double murder. The victims were Spencer Tepe, a prominent dentist, and Monique Tepe, McKee's ex-wife with whom he was married from 2015 to 2017. The couple had two children together before divorcing.
The medical group did not confirm whether McKee is still employed but did note that his doctor profile does not appear on its website. Authorities have yet to establish a motive for the murders, which occurred between 2 and 5 am in the upstairs of the home with no sign of forced entry or gun found at the scene.
Surveillance footage shows a "person of interest" walking down an alley near the couple's home around the time of the killings. Authorities tracked a vehicle that was in the vicinity and later discovered it had traveled 325 miles to Rockford, Illinois, where McKee was arrested on Saturday on murder charges.
McKee holds medical licenses in both Illinois and California and allegedly owns the car used by the suspect. The two children of the slain couple were found unharmed inside their home when authorities discovered the victims' bodies. A motive for the murders has yet to be identified.
The medical group is cooperating with law enforcement, but inquiries should be directed at the authorities, according to a spokesperson.
