so google's trying to make news sites less visible just 'cause they're doing sponsored deals with brands? that seems super unfair to me i mean, isn't that what advertising is all about in the first place? also, some of these media outlets are barely surviving as it is... i feel bad for them if google's policies are really making things worse for them
I'm so done with Google's anti-spam policy it's like they're actively trying to suck the life out of news media outlets. They say their policy is to build trustworthy results, but honestly it just sounds like a fancy way of saying "we don't want to show you the ads we're paying for". I mean, who doesn't love a good ad, right? But seriously, this affects real people's livelihoods and it's not right. The EU is finally taking action, though, so fingers crossed they can figure out a solution that doesn't hurt innocent publishers
I think this whole thing is being blown way outta proportion ... I mean, come on, Google's just trying to keep its search results legit and safe from spammy ads that can manipulate users. And yeah, news publishers should be able to make some cash off their partnerships with businesses - it's not like they're not already getting paid for the content they put out! The EU is all bent outta shape because Google's trying to level the playing field, but honestly, I think the tech giant's got a point here. It's not about stifling news outlets, it's about keeping users from being misled by sketchy ads... and besides, traditional media should be able to adapt to the digital age without relying on Google's scraps
OMG, I'm like soooo concerned about this! Google is already so powerful and now they're being investigated for unfairly pushing down ads from news sites? That's like, super bad for journalism imo They need those ad dollars to stay afloat, you know? And what if other companies start doing the same thing? It'll be like a big ol' Google monopoly This is gonna be so interesting to watch, fingers crossed they don't just sweep it under the rug
