FA Cup Highlights: Manchester United 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester United's FA Cup campaign came to an abrupt end at Old Trafford yesterday as they fell 2-1 to a spirited Brighton & Hove Albion side. The visitors, who were massive underdogs, stunned the hosts with a pair of goals from substitute striker Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck, who has had a torrid spell in his United career, finally found his mark by scoring twice in the second half, including the winner that sealed the win for Brighton. His first came after 59 minutes when he capitalized on a defensive error to slot past David de Gea and give Albion a 1-0 lead.

Just four minutes later, Welbeck added another with a cool finish from outside the box, sending the Brighton fans into raptures. The goal sparked wild celebrations among the Albion faithful, who had been largely silenced by United's early dominance.

Manchester United struggled to create meaningful chances in response, and their frustration grew as the clock ticked down. The hosts' solitary strike came via Mason Greenwood, but it was too little, too late.

Brighton's victory means they will go on to face Crystal Palace in the next round of the FA Cup, while Manchester United's season has come to a premature end without a trophy.

I dont think man u is that bad πŸ˜’. I mean, they've had some tough losses before and they always bounce back. The question is what happened with their team formation and strategy in this game πŸ€”. They just seemed to be playing for the sake of playing and not really putting together a solid plan to beat Brighton.

And btw, Danny Welbeck is a legend! He's been through a lot with United but he still managed to score two goals against them. That's gotta count for something right? πŸ™„

OMG what a crazy comeback by Brighton 🀯! I'm shocked that Welbeck found his feet at the worst possible time for United πŸ˜‚. He totally silenced all the doubters who were counting down his days at Old Trafford. And can we talk about how United's defense was ALL OVER THE PLACE πŸ™ˆ? I mean, I get it, Brighton are on a roll but two goals from Welbeck in a span of 4 minutes is just ridiculous! De Gea should've been manning that post like it was his job πŸ˜‚. Can't wait to see what Crystal Palace has in store for them next round πŸ€”.

Meh, another cup final exit for Man U πŸ˜’. I mean, who doesn't love watching a team that's clearly out of their depth against a plucky underdog squad, right? πŸ™„ Danny Welbeck's two goals were just the cherry on top of a disastrous day for United - and let's be real, it was about time someone in those red shirts figured out how to score with their feet instead of relying on Mason Greenwood's... unique brand of goal-scoring. πŸ’₯ The Brighton fans must've been thrilled to see their team pull off such an upset and put the kibosh on United's FA Cup dreams (again). Oh well, can't say I'd be too surprised if they went out like that anytime soon πŸ˜‚

😐 I feel for the Red Devils right now... been following them since I was a kid and it hurts to see 'em fall short like this πŸ€• Especially with all that talent on the pitch, you'd think they'd have more to show for it. But I guess even the best teams have off days, right? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ On the other hand, credit to Brighton - they totally earned that win! Danny Welbeck's a legend, and those goals were pure class πŸ”₯ Now Manchester United's gotta lick their wounds and try again next season... wish 'em luck 😊

man what a game lol brightons fans must've gone mental 🀯 they were like 2-1 down at one point and still managed to pull off that crazy win! welbeck was on fire i guess you could say he found his groove after a rough patch for him. mason greenwood's strike just wasn't enough tho, you feel? and now man utd is out of the fa cup πŸ€• they needed that trophy so badly this season

😱 what a shocker! thought united would easily smash them, but welbeck came out of nowhere and ruined everything for them... i mean, who expects a sub striker to score 2 goals in a row? 🀯 de gea should've been more sharp on those saves. anyway, gotta give credit to brighton, they played some decent football and deserved the win. sad that man utd got knocked out so early... πŸ€• can't say i'm surprised tho, their season has been pretty underwhelming tbh 😐

πŸ€” so I think its kinda funny how one player can turn the whole game around like that πŸ”„ danny welbeck's 2 goals were insane 😲 and i feel bad for manchester united they had such high hopes but it looks like their season has come to an end early ⏰. brighton wasnt expected to win, but they showed some serious grit & determination πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ now we get to see how crystal palace will do in the next round πŸ€žπŸ“Ί

omg what a shocking result for man united 🀯😱 u gotta feel for them tho, they were on top at first and then that welbeck guy just took over πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ his two goals were pure class, david de gea had no chance whatsoever πŸ˜… anyway, i know some fans are gonna be salty about this one but you can't deny the gaffer's tactics went awry πŸ€” need to regroup and bounce back for man utd in the next competition πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ”₯

OMG I CANT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED AT OLD TRAFFORD!!! MAN UTD WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN THAT GAME EASILY BUT DANNY WELBECK JUST HAD ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHERE EVERYTHING FALLS INTO PLACE FOR HIM !!!! HE SCORED TWO GOALS AND IT WAS LIKE THE FANS WERE IN A ZONE OR SOMETHING !! i feel bad for MASON GREENWOOD WHO Scored but it wasnt ENOUGH . any wayz good job to BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION they proved all the naysayers wrong and showed that they can compete with the big boys.

man i'm so over this fa cup hype every year it's like same story repeats itself... brighton beats man united and everyone's gonna be like "oh look at them! underdogs win!" but let's be real they were massive underdogs for a reason, right? πŸ€” i mean dont get me wrong, welbeck scored some nice goals and all, but its not like man united wasnt in control the whole game... they just had an off day. anyway, cant say ill be sad to see man united go out of this competition, their season's already looking pretty bleak πŸ’”

can't say i'm surprised by mufc's early exit πŸ€”... their performances have been pretty inconsistent lately and it seems like they're struggling to find their footing again πŸ’ͺ. but still gotta feel for them, they've got some big talent in that squad and they'll bounce back from this one πŸ’₯. brighton, on the other hand, was amazing 😲 i mean, they were massive underdogs going into this game but they totally outplayed united and deserved that win πŸŽ‰. it's just a shame it had to end like this for mufc πŸ€•... they'll have to regroup and come back stronger next season ⏰.

πŸ€” I'm still trying to process what happened at Old Trafford yesterday πŸ˜…. Brighton were massive underdogs but they totally outplayed Man U! Welbeck was on fire πŸš€, his 2 goals sealed the win for them and sent the Brighton fans wild πŸŽ‰. I know some people are gonna say that Man U didn't deserve to lose, but come on, they didn't even try that hard in the second half 😴. It's a shame too 'cause this season was looking promising for them. Guess it just wasn't meant to be πŸ’”. Still, credit to Brighton, they totally outperformed Man U and deserved the win πŸ™Œ
