Fiorentina: Stefano Pioli sacked after club's worst ever start to a season

Fiorentina have made a shock move by sacking manager Stefano Pioli, bringing an end to his tenure at the Tuscan club following their worst ever start to a season. The team are currently winless this campaign and languishing at the bottom of Serie A, having collected just four points from their opening 10 games.

The decision comes after protests from supporters, who have expressed discontent with Pioli's leadership over the past few months. While Pioli had a successful spell in charge of AC Milan between 2019 and 2022, winning the league title in his second season at the club, his time at Fiorentina has been marred by inconsistency.

The Italian manager returned to Fiorentina in July for his second stint in charge, but the team's dismal form under his leadership has led to a crisis of confidence among fans. Despite having experience managing in top-tier European leagues, Pioli was unable to stem the tide of defeat, which ultimately proved too much for him to handle.

In a statement released by the club, Fiorentina confirmed that Pioli had been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team. Under-19 coach Daniele Galloppa has taken temporary charge of the squad until further notice.

Pioli's final game in charge was a 1-0 defeat by Lecce at home on Sunday, a day after sporting director Daniele Prade left the club. The Italian manager had signed a three-year contract with Fiorentina in June, replacing Raffaele Palladino.

๐Ÿค” just saw that Fiorentina sacked their manager Stefano Pioli already ๐Ÿ˜ฑ what happened? he was doing okay for AC Milan but clearly not good enough here ๐Ÿ† i feel bad for the fans tho, they must be so frustrated with the team's performance this season โšฝ๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ‘Ž Pioli's time at Fiorentina was a total letdown ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ! He had some great moments managing AC Milan, but this was a whole different story ๐Ÿ“‰. The fans are fed up with his inconsistent performances and it's no wonder they're protesting ๐Ÿ˜ก. I think the club needs to look at their strategy and make some changes ๐Ÿ’ก. Galloppa is a good coach, let's see how he does ๐Ÿ‘. Hopefully, they can turn things around soon ๐Ÿคž. Four points from 10 games is just not enough โšฝ๏ธ. Time for a fresh start! ๐Ÿ”„

I'm not surprised about Pioli's sacking ๐Ÿค”. He did seem out of touch with the team lately. I mean, four points from 10 games is just insane! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ You'd think they'd be able to string together a few wins by now.

But at the same time, I feel bad for him. He had that great run with AC Milan and all, so it's not like he's a complete failure ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Maybe Fiorentina just weren't meant to be his team...? ๐Ÿคž

It's always tough when fans turn on the manager, but I guess you can't ignore results for that long โฐ. Daniele Galloppa might be able to turn things around, though - he was doing a decent job with the U19s, so who knows? ๐Ÿ’ช

omg can you believe what's happening in italy right now?? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ they just sacked pioli like 3 days after his last game ๐Ÿคฏ and now the fans are super upset ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ i get it tho, 4 wins out of 10 games is not exactly fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ especially when u r in a league as competitive as serie a โšฝ๏ธ daniele galloppa taking over temporary charge might be the move to bring some stability tho ๐Ÿ’ช but still gotta wonder what went wrong ๐Ÿค” pioli was doin alright at ac milan but somehow it didnt translate here ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, gotta see how this all plays out ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’” Oh man, Pioli's gotta go! ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ˜จ I get it, fans are fed up, but 4 wins from 10 games is crazy ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜‚. He had a good run at Milan ๐ŸŽ‰, but this was always gonna be tough ๐ŸŒช๏ธ. Under-19 coach Galloppa's taking over ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘Š, fingers crossed he can turn things around ๐Ÿ’ช! ๐Ÿ˜’ Pioli signed on for 3 years ๐Ÿ“†, I guess that's what you get for not delivering ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Fans got restless ๐Ÿ’ฅ, maybe now the club will listen ๐Ÿ‘‚? ๐Ÿคž

Ugh, can't believe they finally did it ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, I get that Pioli's form wasn't great and fans were getting frustrated, but sacking him now just feels like a knee-jerk reaction? It's not like he had a magic solution to turn the team around or anything. And what's with the lack of stability at the club? Prade leaving just yesterday and now they're putting some young coach in charge without even giving him time to settle... it's chaos! ๐Ÿคฏ Can't Fiorentina just stick to a plan for once? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

omg what's going on at fiorentina ๐Ÿคฏ they're basically getting sacked already?? i get it, 4 points from 10 games is not exactly great, but you'd think they'd have more time to turn things around? pioli had some good experience with ac milan but somehow this one just didn't click. fans are definitely feeling the pressure and it's no wonder they're protesting ๐Ÿ™ i feel bad for the guy though, he must be so disappointed right now ๐Ÿ˜”

man this is so interesting ๐Ÿค”... think about it like this - if you're stuck in a rut and can't seem to climb out of it, sometimes you gotta shake things up. pioli had some good experience under his belt, but apparently it just wasn't enough to turn fiorentina's season around ๐Ÿ”„. and yeah, fans are gonna speak up when they feel like something's not right - it's natural to want your team to succeed and for your leaders to get it together ๐Ÿค—... maybe this is an opportunity for galloppa to bring in some fresh eyes and a new perspective? who knows, but one thing's for sure - life's full of twists and turns, and sometimes that means change is the best way forward ๐Ÿ’ช.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I'm shocked they sacked Pioli already! I mean, I get it, the team's been terrible and fans are getting restless, but 3 years is a long time to give someone to turn things around. Did they even consider giving him more time? ๐Ÿค” I know he wasn't doing great, but you can't just write off a manager after one bad season. What's next, firing the players too? ๐Ÿ˜‚ The under-19 coach taking over temporary charge is a good idea, but it feels like the club's just throwing money at the problem without fixing anything fundamental. ๐Ÿ’ธ

I think this is gonna be a tough one for Fiorentina to turn around ๐Ÿ’”

okay so they just sacked their manager after like 3 months ๐Ÿคฏ and now they got some new guy in charge who's only been coaching the U19s ๐Ÿค“ what are they waiting for? get someone with some experience or something ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

anyway I feel bad for Pioli he had some good times at AC Milan but here it looks like it just didn't translate to Fiorentina ๐Ÿ’”

maybe this is an opportunity for them to rebuild and get back on track ๐Ÿ”„

here's a quick diagram of the situation:

oh man fiorentina is having a super tough time right now ๐Ÿ˜ฑ their fans are going through so much stress and frustration ๐Ÿค• i feel bad for them, pioli might've had some great spells at ac milan but consistency is key in this game โšฝ๏ธ he just couldn't get it done here and the supporters have every right to be upset ๐Ÿคฌ gotta give credit to the fans for speaking up and showing their discontent ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ hope they can turn things around soon and find a new manager who can lead them to some wins ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'm so confused about football teams and managers. Can someone explain why this Pioli guy got fired? He must have done something wrong, right? ๐Ÿ˜• His team is really bad at the moment, like they haven't won any games... But he was good at AC Milan, that's what I read ๐Ÿค”. Why can't he just fix Fiorentina's problems? They paid him a lot of money to do so! ๐Ÿ’ธ It feels like the fans were complaining all along, but I don't get why they couldn't just be happy with their team... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

just got out of a meeting where someone said they're so tired of managers coming and going like that... it's all about short-term gains, right? i mean, pioli had his successes at milan, but inconsistency is a hard thing to shake off ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ก if fans were unhappy with him at milan, why come back to fiorentina thinking he could turn it around? anyway, gotta wonder what went down behind the scenes... maybe there's more to this story than meets the eye ๐Ÿ‘€

omg what's going on at fiorentina ๐Ÿคฏ they're literally having a meltdown on and off the pitch! i mean stefano pioli thought he was gonna turn things around after his ac milan days but it just hasn't been happening ๐Ÿ˜” and those fans are getting restless, no wonder they staged a protest. daniele galloppa is now at the helm... fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž that's gonna be a tough one for the team. seriously though, pioli needed to shake things up big time if he wanted to stay there. guess you can't win 'em all ๐Ÿ’”

I donโ€™t usually comment butโ€ฆ Stefano Pioli's sacking is like a wake-up call for Fiorentina ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ก. I mean, four points from 10 games? That's not good enough. But you know what? It's also a sign that the club isn't afraid to take risks and make changes. I think it's high time they brought in some fresh blood and ideas to turn things around. Daniele Galloppa might be a good interim coach, but he needs to assemble a new team with more chemistry and a winning mentality ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‘Š. The fans are frustrated, but I don't blame them for being so. It's been a tough start to the season, and something needs to change ASAP โฐ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

omg I cant believe pioli got sacked already ๐Ÿคฏ he was supposed to turn things around but its clear that didnt happen ๐Ÿ˜” his form at milan was amazing tho i wonder if they can find someone who can replicate that ๐Ÿ”ฎ anyone got a guess who might take over next ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” Pioli's dismissal is pretty shocking considering he'd already shown his capabilities at AC Milan... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I think this might be more about the fans expressing their discontent rather than the team's performance on the pitch being that bad ๐Ÿ˜ Fiorentina just got a new manager, but it seems like they're trying to save face by blaming the old one for the problems ๐Ÿ™„

OMG, WHAT IS HAPPENING AT FIORENTINA RIGHT NOW ?? ๐Ÿคฏ THEY JUST SACKED PIOLI AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS AND IT'S LIKE, TOTALLY SHOCKING!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ i mean, the guy had some success with AC MILAN, but here he's at Fiorentina and it just didn't work out, you know? ๐Ÿ™„ the fans are super unhappy and i can kinda understand why, but still, it's a big change for the team and i'm curious to see what'll happen next ๐Ÿค” daniele galloppa is taking over as interim coach, fingers crossed he can turn things around ๐Ÿคž

I feel bad for Pioli, dude ๐Ÿค• he had some ups and downs at AC Milan but I guess you can't keep a good coach down. But, gotta be real, 4 points from 10 games is straight awful ๐Ÿ’”. The fans were already getting restless, poor guy didn't stand a chance. Maybe it's time for Fiorentina to go back to the drawing board and find someone who can stabilize the team. Daniele Galloppa taking over as interim coach is a good start, but they gotta get it together ASAP โฐ. Can't wait to see what happens next! ๐Ÿค”
